Ipswich Town 0-1 Cambridge United - Match Report
at 18:48:52

Well at least we can put away those silly playoff calculators now!

Put simply we’ve got the defence of Bayern and the attack of Basildon. There is a solid core but not enough responsibility, creativity or instinct.

This season was over in October and we’ve paid for Cooks ineptitude but I’m really confident KMac will tinker with the squad over the summer and we’ll come out of the blocks next season firing - and go up the PROPER way…

Annoying result, wasted some real chances tonight.

On the plus side we still haven’t conceded in February, that’s 5 clean sheets on the bounce now. It’s a bit weird watching us, not feeling nervous!

MK Dons 0-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 18:08:00

We were tactically excellent today. Can see why KJ started and we were finding our wing backs and the number 10s all day. Apart from the Swine volley we were well in control - MK resorted to bringing on Wiliam and free kick farming in the 2nd half. We just lacked a bit of final ball quality. I honestly thought we deserved that one and I’m normally quite underwhelmed. That was a very good performance.

Special mention to KMac for 6 clean sheets in 9 and would have been 7 if not for The Fridge’s rick v Wednesday. That is superb organising. We are now officially hard to beat.

McKenna: Definitely Not Our Best Performance
at 09:28:12

It wasn’t pretty but it got the job done.
We’re on a run of 57, one of the form teams in the league.
For the 2nd time in 3 games McK has put out a weakened rotated team - and we’ve still won. Previous managers would never have achieved that.
It’s all very well some fans saying we should just play our best team all the time. They don’t have to bear the consequences of fitness and spirit in the squad.

FA Release Written Reasons For Morsy Ban
at 21:11:16

The whole thing is laughable.
Difficult to make anything out but at the same time the strike to the face was clear. Pffff…
And the “intent” was clear. How pray tell does one “see” intent? Prejudiced…
Surely the player making contact with SM first was equally clear and intended? If not…
Total kangaroo court. Best just move on. It’s only cost us a point so far…

Morsy Banned For Four Matches
at 19:21:07

Nothing to do but accept it now and go on and do the business without Morsy.

Still don’t see anything conclusive in that clip maybe the FA had another view?. Based on that alone I think it’s quite likely that blatant Rivaldoesque cheating has been rewarded.

Morsy Charged By FA
at 09:55:18

Chris Knights - I think you'll find that the principle of "innocent until proven guilty" is a lot older than you are and it's actually your views that are symptomatic of the modern day social media kangaroo court. Hypocrite indeed.

Morsy Charged By FA
at 20:50:58

I think Morsy was just pushing the other guys hand off him and he’s milked it to try to get Morsy carded. Morsy could have done that himself, but he’s not the cheat here… would be nice if some fans could bring themselves to not find fault in whatever our players do…

Nsiala Set For Permanent Move to Fleetwood
at 12:29:30

I thought Toto was ok in a 4 at the back at this level.
Agricultural but more dependable than the "mistake-prone" reputation - our PPG with him in the side is actually above the average.
That said, if KM wants to play 3 ball playing, stepping out CB's then he's definitely not right for that. No brainer to get rid with his contract nearly up.

Bit short on cover at the back without Toto, playing 3 CBs?
Burgess and the kids...
I'd assume we'd be looking for at lead another CB on loan, if not permo.

Gillingham 0-4 Ipswich Town - Match Report

McKenna is a class act.
Quality performance, tactically astute, energetic and committed and easy on the eye.
I wonder how long it will be before those calling the “playoff wishers” delusional will pipe down…
2 weeks ago we needed 15 wins from 23 now it’s down to 13 from 21. So far so good.

Cook: We Should Have Been Given More Time at Town
at 09:27:13

Cook gave himself an excuse for the first 20 games saying not my squad/not good enough. He then gave himself a new excuse for the next 20 games saying needed time to gel. Then ran out of excuses. Total blagger.

Cook: We Should Have Been Given More Time at Town
at 15:20:13

I'm hopeful (and quietly confident) that given time KM will ultimately throw a spotlight and a barometer on what we've had to suffer in terms of managers in the entire ME era.

Football has revolutionised in terms of science in the last decade and IMO the emerging and successful managers now are following that philosophy. KM is the first we've had of this new era and provided he can get his messages across and accrue the respect amongst the squad, staff and fans - which I think he will - we'll all be regretting not having realised sooner...

Cook: We Should Have Been Given More Time at Town
at 15:09:00

In my view a decent coaching team-less Cook is frankly a lower leagues journeyman dinosaur, with some moderate man-management skills but very, very little in the way of contemporary and dynamic management skills.

He says stats don't tell the story and I agree because he inherited a decent situation at Portsmouth and especially Wigan where he had his team around him. He inherited an ideal situation at Ipswich and leaves win a win record of 29%...

I rank him as no better than Hurst in all honesty. I think Cook would have taken us down in 2019 too. I know Lambert gets a lot of stick because he used to manage Norwich, but he had a team of Colchester United pensioners, wantaways and prima-donnas pushing for the playoffs (I wanted Lambert gone too, principally because he was a grumpy oaf).

Cook fluffed a very good chance to make the playoffs last season, demolished that squad and did even less with a new and supposedly better one he was given unrivaled backing to put together. He was tactically one-dimensional, his in-game management was abysmal, our fitness compared to other teams in the same league with smaller squads left a lot to be desired and he was already losing some of the dressing room that he himself had hand picked. Consistency was inconsistent and desire was lacking. THAT is not about gelling that is about believing.

On what planet does he or any fan for that matter beleive he deserved MORE time. Talk about doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. If he honestly thinks he needed it spelt out to him before he "stayed" that he'd need to do better than be 11 points adrift of the playoffs after 20 games... well he can't be helped. He's a fool.

Scally: It’s Not Looking Good For Boxing Day
at 16:09:47

Tbh I think a postponement would suit us too. More time for KM to drill his ideas into the squad and freshen up and it would be good to start the 2nd half of the season without the game in hand for a number of teams above us so we can have a clearer picture.

Manager Cook Sacked
at 22:43:49

Cromwell Blue - and you can’t fix a club with a rubbish, tactically one-dimensional manager. Sorry but you’re over-thinking things.

Lambert got more out of an ensemble of pensioners and want-aways under the funk of the Evans era than Cook got out of a clean sheet of paper a black cheque book and the fair wind of the new ownership.

That needs improving. Now. End of.

Manager Cook Sacked
at 22:12:15

Cannot believe any Town fans could possibly think this wasn’t warranted.

“Have patience, give it time” implies a guarantee he’d succeed eventually.

Was never ever gonna happen.I gave up weeks ago try to explain on here how inept Cook was.

The last of a line of terrible Evans appointments. I didn’t agree with a single one of them.

Here’s hoping the new owners and Ashton know how to make THE most important decision in over a decade. I have faith.
