| News Comment | Carrick: Mixed Feelings at 09:54:52
Strange comment that " Possible should have won it". Our keeper made two excellent saves because that's his job and he's good at it. A good keeper earns you points as much as any other team member. Ipswich also several had chances to win it but your keeper, deflections from defenders and the woodwork got in the way. Good teams prevent goals as well as score them. I don't know whether Carrick plays golf but you get nothing there either if the ball nearly goes in the hole. |
| News Comment | McKenna: Proud of the Season We're Having But No Dreams About Premier League at 19:50:59
To climb a mountain you must concentrate on every step and make sure that you don't lose a valuable foothold. Think too far ahead and you will slip. KM has taken each season step by careful step, he doesn't look up or down but is totally focused on each moment. If and when we reach the peak he will celebrate but not until the flag has been planted. |
| News Comment | McKenna: We'll Have to See How Kieffer is Over the Next Few Days at 13:15:13
I hope Moore is fit for Saturday but if not then I'm sure Mckenna has a plan in mind and maybe a surprise selection. Much as we'd like to know about Moore I'm sure that things will be kept quiet so that the budgies don't know who they will face. |
| News Comment | Martin: We Were the Best Team, We Didn't Deserve to Lose at 11:07:24
You were playing the comeback kings and a team that usually scores 3 goals at home. If you think that being the better side for 60 minutes would be enough then you didn't do your homework on the tractor boys did you Mr. Martin. |
| News Comment | Town Make £18.17m Loss at 10:30:21
If you buy a run down company you must firstly believe that you can turn it around with investment into something worth much more than you paid and invested. In the announcement of further investment it was stated that they had lots of people interested in investing in ITFC so investors are seeing a great project with huge potential. They see growth and increased share values which is why they want to invest their money here. Being able to be selective over potential investors says that this club is going places. Financial losses will be part of the growth because you must make improvements in all areas to create a successful company which then becomes even more attractive to future investors. Personally I think having this group of investors is far more stable than having one mega rich owner who makes all the decisions. The running of the club is being left to MA and the running of the squad to KM. To me this is a joint ownership that most clubs can only dream of. |
| News Comment | Hutchinson: I Turned Down England and Jamaica Calls to Concentrate on Town at 10:43:55
It's amazing and refreshing to hear how grounded this lad is. So many promising youngsters lose their way but this lad has a good head on his shoulders and is focused on the club and the squad. If we do get the chance to sign him that would be a very sound investment as well as an exciting signing. |
| News Comment | Town Aiming For Seventh Heaven at Cardiff at 16:51:21
22 scorers for us this season. It could be tomorrow that our only outfield player in the starting 11 not to score this season is Burgess. Wouldn't it be great if he could add his name to the list. |
| News Comment | Hutchinson Wins Player of the Month at 08:42:52
A well deserved award. Chelsea must be thrilled with how this loan is going. Their player is vastly improved and his value has increased considerably. As much as I would love him to stay I really can't see town being able to afford him. I'm sure Chelsea would be more than happy to loan other promising youngsters to us though. Other big clubs will also have taken notice. |
| News Comment | McKenna: A Brilliant Way to Win a Football Match at 11:24:53
78 points with ten games left. If we win 7, draw 1 and lose 2 we will be on 100pts. If we didn't go up with 100pts that would be ridiculous. Even better would be 7 wins and 3 draws. |
| News Comment | Davis: That's How Strong We Are Mentally at 11:13:47
We make defensive mistakes but it's because we play positive football and take risks. We scored 3, hit the woodwork twice and missed a penalty so let's keep on doing what we do. Our reactions to set backs are just amazing. |
| News Comment | McKenna: Woolfenden's an Important Player at 10:34:57
I have always rated Wolfy and he has improved a lot under KM. Sometime however there are times when I wish he would show a bit of old style defending and just stick the ball in the stands so that we can regroup. I think sometimes he tries to use skill to win the ball when finding touch is the easy option. If he could mix in a bit of no nonsense boot it out I think it would make him a better defender |
| News Comment | Premier League Clubs Eyeing Davis at 15:15:38
I'd love him to stay here but I would not hold it against him if he went to Newcastle. The lad has been awesome for us and deserves to fulfill his dreams whether it's with ITFC or his boyhood club. |
| News Comment | European Clubs 'Monitoring' Hutchinson at 17:05:37
His success here has increased his value and aroused interest from clubs much richer than us. Having said that we are owned by investors and this lads value could increase substantially if he could prove himself in the premier league. Whether such a high risk investment on one player would be made if we got promotion remains to be seen but if we do get to the premier league we will need to invest serious money to stay there. I am sure that plans are being made already for the possibility of a premier league campaign which is what everyone at the club and connected with the clubs wants. |
| News Comment | Davis: We're Disappointed With the Performance, We Know We Can Play Miles Better at 10:53:37
Our attack looks so good yet our defenders look suspect. As much as I like Wolfy I wish sometimes he would just stick the ball into the stands. We have conceded a lot of goals this season where we could have just put the ball into touch. Ball playing defenders who can pass are great but good old fashioned basic defending is needed too. |
| News Comment | Williams: Town Goals Were Unnecessary at 16:18:45
What he should be saying is "We played a high defensive line against Leeds and we got stuffed but like an idiot I decided to do it again against Ipswich, they also broke the line easily and I should have seen that coming". Do your job better mate. Burgess to Davis and cut back to Chaplin is typical Ipswich and you didn't set up to prevent it |
| News Comment | Broadhead: To Get a Point is Massive at 12:15:40
Some of the negative comments on here are mind blowing. What the hell do people expect? The top 3 were in the premier league last season and we were league 1. The bottom 3 in the prem (excluding Everton's point deduction) were the 3 promoted sides. We are mixing it with those teams on restricted funds and the premier league is a huge step up. We should all be thrilled with where we are and enjoying this season. If we did go up, and that's a big IF, then the chances are that we would struggle and some clowns on here would be calling for McKenna's head. Just get real folks. Financially going up and coming back down is lucrative but if it doesn't happen we are still so much better off than 2 years ago. |
