Former Blues Boss Hurst Returns to Shrewsbury
at 18:32:02

As well as Jackson, Donacien is also still with us so we certainly got decent value out of two of his "crap" signings.

No Further iFollow Payments Ahead of TownTV Launch
at 13:00:18

I hope they can manage to sort it so the commentary team can see replays. It's just laughable when they keep reminding viewers that they can't do that. What year is this? Give them a feed of the game.

Town Set to Break iFollow Record at Fleetwood

I use a Google Chromecast to send the game from my laptop to TV without needing cables. Works fine. I hope TownTV or whatever will be easier to work with though.

Bonner: Holy's a Brilliant Character
at 20:21:40

While I always had questions about Holy, I still really want it to work out for him here as he does seem such a great character. I hope he smashes it while he's there and comes back with more confidence.

Cook: Defensively Toto's Among the Best in the Division
at 23:07:26

Centre backs who never make errors aren't playing in League 1. One of the best shot blockers I've seen - totally fearless. And hasn't he only been sent off once for us? In about his fourth game for the club, three years ago? And that was one of the worst red card decisions I ever saw.

Interesting that bad pasties and cold tea made the team play worse. I hope we have catering experts on top of that.

Good read.

I'll be back in the area for a bit at Xmas. Usually head down to Park View to see the Deres but will try to see Welling too if I have time now.

Simpson on Trial at Swindon
at 22:48:30

I think a loan would be good for him. I like what I've seen of him so far but can't see he's going to get many minutes in the first team this year unless we decide we're going to play the kids for the cups again. A season in League 2, if he gets games, is likely better than the U23s

Pre-Season Training - Photos
at 22:36:50

The "new" focus on fitness is something that was one of the better things Hurst wanted to focus on. I'm not sure why it's not just obvious - fitter players can last longer in games, play more often, and avoid injuries. Hoping we really follow through on it this time and watch us run rings around teams in the last 15 minutes of every game.

Dobra Impresses as Albania U21s Win

I suspect what Dobs is saying is what Cook was hoping to hear after telling players they're free to move on. No more free rides for anyone, show you want it. Hope he stays.

Detmer: Pension Fund Very Much Aligned With Our Vision
at 13:06:53

If we were making the fund money in the Premier, then why would they want to sell? Why one year of telly cash and off? Surely they'll take as many years of telly cash as they can get. If in say seven years we are still failing to make the playoffs, then I'd be much more worried about their stomach for it.

Town Takeover Close
at 01:01:50

I'd imagine Evans might have some kind of clause saying the debt would be partially repaid if the club became X successful. Didn't I also read he's going to retain 5% or something? So IF we were to get back into the Premiership he would stand to gain there. And this way the club is just another investment for him and not something he has to think about on a daily basis.

@ArnieM Evans is reiterating he is not "actively" looking to sell but has long said he would entertain serious offers. I guess this is looking like it might meet that threshold.

Banished Duo Angered By Manager's Comments
at 01:07:20

Unless Lambert was just trying to piss Nolan off, any decent person would have said to him the day before, "You're not in the 18 but I'd appreciate it if you'd travel up in case anything happens." Easy. Does he have to ask? No. But it's good people management to show some respect for others.

Rotherham United 1-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 22:20:50

The fact we're failing to handle anyone remotely organised in League 1 really worries me. Even if we do manage automatic promotion - which is a big if - I fear another season like the last. Rotherham pressured only reasonably well and we had no answer to it other than panicky hoofs towards Jackson. I really hope this was just an off day.

Nsiala Completes Bolton Move
at 03:32:28

" Hes also been a bit unlucky with some refereeing decisions going against him unfairly"

The red against Sheffield Wednesday last year was one of the more ridiculous decisions I've ever seen. I don't think his physical presence helps him with refs but I think it's something that we need in both boxes and I'm sorry to see him go. I really want it to work out here for him and wouldn't be surprised if he causes us problems if we end up facing him. Good luck Toto.

Hull Linked With Blues Winger Edwards
at 23:03:39

Keep for me. He's always willing to take on a man and has shown he can find the back of the net. His GPG pretty much matched Sears'.

I do think he sometimes overestimates his ability to beat said man and I'm sure things that worked like magic in L1 he found less reliable in the Championship but I'd have expected that to improve. Same for his crossing - he often does make space for it. A little time on the training ground I would hope would much improve it.

Anyway, we're in L1 next year. He's proven himself already at that level and will know a lot of the opposition. I think he'll be an asset.

Chambers Named Player of the Year
at 03:29:18

If the award was for being our most consistently useful performer over the season then Pennington probably should have got it. Chalobah would be a close second - certainly for his performances the last few months. But I can see not wanting to give it to a loanee.
If you're talking about performance off the pitch then the supporters have been pretty remarkable in staying on board and continuing to out-sing supporters of teams in far better situations than us.
I have nothing against Chamber but, on the pitch at least, he's not had a particularly good year.
