Ipswich Town 1-2 Maidstone United - Match Report
at 18:20:04

A shocker for sure but it is now all about how we respond to this on and off the pitch. The first 10 - 15 mins against Preston next week we'll see how the players respond. We'll see how KMK reacts by the team he chooses to start next week and if they didn't know before the board and backroom staff know they need to deliver new faces this week. A pivotal week, could go either way.

Town Closing in On Clarke Signing
at 18:01:54

I did see that Donacian's contract runs out at the end of this season (with a 1 year option to extend) so I did wonder if that might have something to do with it, perhaps JD may be off at the end of this season.

Ahadme and Leigh Back Training With Teammates
at 11:05:04

Good news especially having lost Ball and TJJ recently. Who will be next to return? Evans, Aluko? It wall be good to have a virtually full squad in the run up to the busy Xmas period. It looks like Portsmouth have a large number of injuries so let's hope a few other teams in and around the top 6 begin to experience long injury lists.

We do seem to have quite a lot of injuries just now.

Charlton Athletic 4-4 Ipswich Town - Match Report

In hindsight we have probably been too loyal to the Donacien, Edmundson, Woolf axis. Signs were there at Port Vale. Time for Keogh and if fit Burgess to shake things up a bit at the back.

Injured Duo Making Good Progress
at 10:45:34

Really interested to see Panutche Camara once fit. We have not really seen much of any of our summer signings yet (except Davis). They are all good players and it will good to see what they can add to the team - although there is the old adage about not changing a winning team.

Town Closing in On Ahadme Signing

Good news I think. The article says we are looking at 2 signings today, I wonder what position the 2nd signing is, Midfield, Attacking midfield? Deadline day is certainly far more interesting these days.

Ball Not Yet Ready as Ndaba Picks Up Minor Injury
at 17:34:57

Shame about Ball, I think FGR will be right up for this game with a high press. Ball's more robust style would have been more useful, especially early in the game. Evans did struggle a bit last week when Bolton were playing with real intent.

Ndaba Named Salford Supporters' Player of the Year
at 09:52:11

Interesting that he has excelled on the left side of their defence but I wonder in what kind of role and is it in a 3 or a 4? Would it transfer to the left side of our back 3, I presume he is not the counter-balance to Wes Burns on the left but could potentially give us the opportunity to go to a back 4 on occasion. I have not seen Salford play (except a few goal clips) so I am not sure how well his success there might adapt to our system.

Chaplin: Poorest We've Played But We Got Three Points
at 11:28:18

The comment about the pitch being dry caught my attention. Was the pitch being watered pre-match?, presume we try to get the surface just right for our particular style, maybe not or perhaps there's another reason for the dryness.

McKenna Considering Changes as Accrington Visit
at 12:00:27

Need to find a way to get a bit more creativity up top. Gillingham aside, 2 shots on target last week, 1 against Wycombe and 2 against Sunderland. Celina for Norwood and poss. KVY for Penney.

Town Closing in On Jacobs Signing

Appearance record - Averages 32.6 games per season over the past 6 seasons. Not especially injury prone I would say. He featured in Portsmouth's most recent friendly (against Bournemouth) where he was captain. Good signing.

Swindon Town 1-2 Ipswich Town - Highlights

I know it's a meaningless fixture, but given the amount of time since our last goal, player celebrations after the penalty felt a bit low-key

Bakay: European Super League Driven By Greed
at 09:40:07

This is good to read and well put. However, let's not kid ourselves that if we were one of those 6 clubs our new investors would absolutely be part of the new super league. They are obliged to gain the maximum return on the investment of their backers. American owners want to marry the global appeal of football (as opposed to the comparatively limited global interest in their own sports) with the ability to control and exploit to the max the commercial potential of sport. In their world it is vital to take away the jeopardy that could affect their investment by creating a closed shop. A world where teams like Arsenal and Spurs can fail on the pitch and apart from the wrath of their fans there will be no major financial consequences.

If nothing else this situation will show who truly loves the game more than the money. Good to see Jurgen Klopp's strong words on the subject, let's see which other players and managers are prepared to stick their necks out. Players, managers and fans could kill this proposal instantly - if the game means more to them than extreme personal wealth of a few individuals.

Time for journalists to come to the fore, in every single press conference or interview from now on all top flight players and managers need to be challenged and a very clear message sent to the club owners that football is not their personal play-thing.
