| News Comment | Postecoglou: We Didn't Start With the Right Tempo or Intensity at 22:17:04
Fair enough comments from Ange. Spurs didn't play the ref as other clubs we've played recently have done. I don't want other managers to sing our praises, so all's good there too. Lovely result today from the boys and great away support from our fans too. We're nicely set up for a great pre-Christmas. COYB |
| News Comment | PGMOL: Webb Town Meeting Private at 11:33:16
I was expecting total transparency from an industry based on fair play and sporting merit. Anyway, I'm sure there's no corruption or bias involved and the reason for privacy is... ...well, actually, I can't think of any reason for privacy if everything is above board but there must be a reason, obviously, I mean this is England - you won't find corruption here and most certainly not in the beautiful game. Corruption and bias are what we accuse other countries of - it's simply not in our culture. Time to admit we were wrong, trust the system and get on with allowing the bigger clubs to get all the benefits and advantages they have earned. |
| News Comment | Ashton: We Need Answers, Howard Webb to Meet Us at Portman Road This Week at 10:38:23
With or without VAR, "bigger" clubs get the rub of the green. Bigger clubs can flout FFP rules too without significant penalty. The rules surrounding VAR usage are designed specifically to allow referees to override what technology clearly shows to be reality. The technology is not the problem. It's about money and it always will be. If it looks like a conspiracy, walks like a conspiracy and quacks like a conspiracy, it's a conspiracy. There's no conspiracy THEORY here, it's conspiracy FACT. Sadly, Mark Ashton's laudable actions will be met with carefully worded platitudes and hollow promises and the status quo will be quickly resumed because VAR is here to stay. Might is right I'm afraid and I think it's time that people woke up to the fact that corruption is far more prevalent in our lives than we wish to acknowledge. |
| News Comment | O'Shea: I Felt Ipswich Was the Right Place For Me at 10:38:40
What about all the wardrobe and cupboard doors, especially in hotels and offices where there are already loads of doors? And all the doors on lockers in schools, gyms and swimming pools? Are people remembering to include the glove compartment doors in their cars? And do cat flaps count as doors? |
| News Comment | McKenna: Six-Pointer is Not a Phrase We Use at 09:39:15
"The Premier League's Independent Key Match Incidents (KMI) Panel subsequently ruled that a penalty should have been awarded, but that the incident didn't meet the threshold for a clear and obvious error required for VAR to intercede." So we have the technology to determine what's fair, but we over-ride that by apparently illogical conditions which prevent fair play happening. That will always favour the bigger clubs which I suppose is why the condition was included. Mental. |
| News Comment | Szmodics: It Was Really Tough at 09:01:40
I love Sammie. Fantastic that he's there slouching in his chair talking about professionalism. Lol. |
| News Comment | AFC Wimbledon 2-2 Ipswich Town (4-2 on pens) - Match Report at 23:23:50
@Carberry A lack of familiarity with the system we play (ie tactics) was precisely why we didn't perform today and it was no surprise to many. Kieran will get everybody singing from the same hymn sheet soon. No need to have a pop at individual players, they are all good characters. |
| News Comment | AFC Wimbledon 2-2 Ipswich Town (4-2 on pens) - Match Report at 23:15:01
I'd much rather give 6 new signings a competitive run out, have half a dozen clear weaknesses exposed for KMcK to work on and lose than breeze past L2 opposition only for the same weaknesses to be exposed during the next few Premier League fixtures. Yes, it's not nice to lose but Kieran's a fantastic manager and will turn this setback into an opportunity to build character and strengthen this young team. Have faith and patience - it's very early days still, and there's absolutely no need for despondency. |
| News Comment | Town Closing in On Ogbene Signing at 09:54:14
"One Chiedozie Somkelechukwu Ogbene, There's only one Chiedozie Somkelechukwu Ogbene, One Chiedozie Somkelechukwu Ogbene, There's only one Chiedozie Somkelechukwu Ogbene." It needs a little practice but as soon as you've got it, it's a real roof raiser. |
