Sadly, Tractorboy, we won the lottery and then lost it all.

McKenna: That We've Been Ahead in So Many Games is a Big Positive
at 09:41:10

Sometimes I wonder how McKenna is able to come out with this stuff with a straight face. Able to find a big positive in being ahead in games when we have lost the most points from winning positions, that is delusional.
And of course, a team that hasn't played together every week, which is of his own making, in the most part, by constant 'tactical' changes.
And he gets away with it every week because most people on here thinks the sun shines.....

Promoted Pair Linked With Hirst
at 23:13:12

Leejames, why don't you get the release clause. If someone offers £30m and Delap wants to go, then he goes. Regardless of his 5 year contract (which includes the release clause). Which bit of that don't you understand?

McKenna: No Guarantee Townsend Fit For Newcastle Trip

You make a good point Bluewhiteboy. Is Jamie Vardy a non-league player, of course not.
However, I'm not sure many of our team have earnt the right to be called Premier League players.

Nice piece, very thoughtful and considered, without being belligerent as some folks are on here. Particularly agree with your assessment of our midfield.

Well at least we know where you stand on something unacceptable, Ericgatesshinpad.
I'm not the moral arbiter, I'm just someone who feels the need to stand up and question others behaviour when it is extremely abusive and unwelcome. Shame you didn't stick to footie, instead of marking me down.

Ericgatesshinpad, you marked me down for calling out Robsonwarks's homophobic innuendo. Presumably you think that's OK in 2025 do you? Are you willing to explain yourself?

Johnson: We've Done the Club Proud

You are missing the point, Bazza. He should never have come out and said it, regardless of all those excuses, we have been relegated in a dismal manner - there's no pride in that.

Johnson: We've Done the Club Proud
at 19:47:33

I'm talking about character, personality and empathy with supporters, real pride in pulling on the shirt. If Terry Butcher was playing in that team this season he would never have come out with such a ridiculous statement that some of you are happy to lap up. And to hear it from a player who has contributed very little is astonishing, as many sensible people on here can see. Johnson came as a Premier League player and should have brought stability to our defence, however he has started 9 games and looked nowhere near good enough, no wonder West Ham let his contract rundown.
And here come the excuses, what a journey we've been on...we bought to be prepared for promotion next season... we'll go straight back up... the Premier League is corrupt.
Honestly, stop looking at the Emperor's new clothes.

Johnson: We've Done the Club Proud
at 19:48:55

We're finishing 3rd from bottom, we're relegated. We've won 4 league games, 7 times we have conceded more than 4 goals, one of those was 6-0 at home to Man City and the accolade of most points dropped from winning positions, 25.
And we are supposed to sit back with warm satisfaction at the wonderful way in which the management and players have served up failure. And for players to come out and say what a great job they've done should consign them to history.
Would Terry Butcher have come out and told us 'we've done the club proud' - you must be joking.

Wow, who told him to come out and say that?
''We came here with an identical game plan that we’ve had all season against all the other teams.'' And that's been one of our problems, no plan B.

Chelsea 2-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 20:09:25

Excellent to come away from Stamford Bridge with a point, but it's been the story of our season, not being able to hang on to leads. Is it mentality or ability or both? We do seem to make errors at the worst possible times and they are always punished, in this league. And again one of our 'lightweight' players gets an injury.

Thought arrogance was your domain, blues1? Now you are backtracking on relegation clauses, don't think you are quite as bright as you think you are.

Delap Release Clause £30m
at 12:49:48

Leejames, I really don't care what you think, I'm just pointing out what happens with relegation clauses in contracts, for yours and blues1's benefit, seeing as you both deny they exist.
Dissboyitfc, I totally agree with you, that's why the choice is important. However the other side of the argument is what will he learn in the Championship and what happens if he gets a serious injury. He's 21 years old and has scored 12 times for a relegated team, there will be a long queue for his services, surely.

Delap Release Clause £30m

blues1. It is standard practise to have relegation clauses in contracts for the benefit of both parties. That's what happens and is very likely. You obviously aren't aware of that.
