Portman Road to Be Given Makeover
at 12:53:29

Been wondering when the SBR stand roof would get cleaned. This was mentioned back in August. If a road closure is involved, I can see the delay though.

Would be great to have a big screen in the ground for highlights and to get people in the mood. And is it me, or does the sound system seem a bit poor these days? I know though when it was louder, some people complained.

Ferguson: We Might Be Top Had Town and Wycombe Not Played Bolton's Youth Team
at 12:56:49

"...whose team would have beaten the Blues at London Road but for a last-gasp Luke Chambers header making the score 2-2 in August" - true, but we did also have a penalty saved.

Evans on Relegation, New Arrivals and the Promotion Challenge
at 11:52:49

Something that's always puzzled (and annoyed) me is that when we sell a player, we get told the funds will be reinvested in the playing squad. That usually results in a loan or free transfer player coming in, when we're then told that the funds support that new player's wages. Thing is, if we've sold a player, not only have we got the money from the transfer coming in, but also that player off the wage bill. So begs the question, how come the new player's wages aren't purely replacing the outgoing player's wages? - and what happens to the transfer fee?

Sign of the times I suppose that we go into this as underdogs, against a side placed higher. And that we're vying with Plymouth to sign Mayor.

Town Among Clubs Linked With Derby Striker Jerome

And didn't we just have two proven Championship goal scorers! Sold them, and replaced them with cheap buys from lower leagues or dodgy loans! Why the heck didn't we just keep them!

We so should have got in Rhodes before the scum did. I think we were managerless at the time though, That would have been a perfect fit.

At least he wouldn't be coming to us straight from Norwich, but via Derby, which makes it a bit more palatable. That said, it worked with John Deehan, right?! ;-)

Hurst: Waghorn Move the Best Decision for Everyone Concerned at the Time
at 18:31:07

What worries me is that we've lost three proven Championship strikers - Waghorn, Garner and McGoldrick - admittedly with two having less than impressive injury records ...and replaced them with unproven potential from lower leagues. Also, when you look at the money that came in from player sales, versus the little money we've spent on new players, there's a glaring disparity!
