What worries me is our record generally after “resting” players for cup games is atrocious. That defeat on Tuesday will have affected confidence and belief no doubt about it.
When the fixtures came out I thought 7 points from the first 3 league games would be decent however I wouldn’t now be totally disappointed with 5.
Once again on paper we already have a decent 20/21 man squad (need 2/3 more in my view) however I am loathed to get too ahead of myself after the excitement of the avalanche of players who were meant to be far too good for league 1 and then went on and did nothing!!
What I am liking though is we are getting our business done early, let’s start pre season with the squad we start the season with. Not buying Morsy and Walton until end of august cost us majorly, same mistake won’t be repeated.
Yeah not doubting his ability for one moment which makes it even harder to accept but I can’t find myself supporting or wanting a player to do well whose only aim is to waste as much time as he can!! It’s bordering on embarrassing the levels to which he takes it!!!
Now I know he is English etc etc etc but does he wind anybody else up!! Time wastes from pretty much the first whistle in every game until they are losing then all off a sudden expects everything to be urgent. I am aware every player of every club does this to a degree but not to the levels he does and it really irritates me. Him and that Richarlason who is a blatant cheat and disgustingly overrated footballer!!
If we need another overhaul I’d suggest we need a new manager!!
If a manager can’t get a tune out of one of the most expensive assembled squads this division has probably ever seen points to the manager inabilities more than the players!!! KMK quickly showed Cook up who has since done f all in the conference. However if your suggesting KMK can not get anymore from these players than I’d rather change the manager than go through that squad overhaul again!!
FWIW I don’t want KMK to go but just saying I would prefer it if I had to choose between overhauling the squad or changing the manager.
Under old regime we would probably be forced to build a team around him however with new setup and the standard of players bought in first summer window I would expect he will be moved on and replaced. The same goes for Piggott for whatever reason it hasn’t worked out under cook and certainly doesn’t fit into the profile of player that KMK requires at the top end of the pitch.
I would expect us to keep Jackson, possibly Bonne and our marquee signing will be a relatively speaking top striker for this division.
No matter the final position, I am very optimistic about what next season will bring regardless of the division we start in. Keep KMK and we will be in the championship one way or another very soon!!
We will lose games between now and the end of the season where we need to go for broke but over the course of a whole season I have no doubt we will not find ourselves in this position next season.
Sacked a manager (not the wrong decision in itself) and had no idea who to replace him with, even Evans who is a complete numbskull had a manager ready and waiting when he eventually pulled the trigger. We have essentially written these games off and as a result our season is now officially over on the 16th December.
In my view it will be announced today that some or all of the Americans are now unable to make Saturday (due to covid will be the reason given)
