Portsmouth at home. Pegged back twice, Colby on the wind-up but we still found a way to win with Burns grabbing the decisive goal.
Also a mention of FGR at home because this was the match when Luongo came off the substitutes bench and immediately oozed class as well as being the start of the scintillating run of games that has seen us promoted. |

He seems to play well against teams that want to attack, less so against those that sit back. If he can get in behind, he can put in plenty of dangerous crosses. Overall I find his attitude and work rate admirable and can see why he is a popular member of the team. |

Agree on bench. Chirewa can keep hold of the ball well and would have been a better replacement for Edwards than Jackson who ran fast but then kept losing it. |

If they win their game in hand Barnsley are only 6 points behind. Nobody seems to be mentioning them but they have now won their last 4 home games. Three more draws from us and they could be equal on points or certainly very close with half the season left.
This is definitely our difficult month and a real test for the boss. A lot of teams go through this but the past few years have seen us not get out of such ruts quickly enough. Hopefully this year is different but for the next couple of days, at least, I am not optimistic. |

Edwards worth a mention too. He kept hold of the ball when others were giving it away and consistently carried it into the Vale half. We lost that when he went off and, with it, most of our attacking threat.
Humphreys and Morsy would be awesome on Saturday. |

Given the crowds and nice evening, my daughter and I decided to walk back up London Road to the park and ride. It was all very pleasant until the Pompey entourage went past, coaches first followed by various minibuses. We were slightly bemused to get called a word rhyming with plastic from one minibus and then a word rhyming with hunt a minute later from a car full of young adults. The sin seems to be walking along a pavement wearing a Town hoodie. The kids in the car were hanging out looking for a reaction. I just stuck my thumb up and they didn't know what to do.
In a funny sort of way, it added to the sense of satisfaction at the result. I guess not only did we beat them but we also made them look very ordinary, Bishop aside. Even still, its a bid of a sad life to be going around throwing insults at strangers and their children just because of a football match. |

Definition 8b of "window" in the Webster dictionary:
"an interval of time during which certain conditions or an opportunity exists"
However the "transfer cat flap" does have a certain ring to it. |

If you fancy a bit of parking rage to get you in the mood for the match, try the West End car park. £5 for the day but the chance of getting sworn at either before or after the game are very high. |
