With Azor looking likely for circa £10m ,got me thinking as who is currently our CM record signing? We obviously didn't buy one last season and can't remember any big signings with Burley in the Prem.
Surely we must've spent some decent money in that position at some time |

O'Shea extending his contract is great news, he wouldnt have signed if he has any plans to leave, a new contract to renegotiate relegation clauses makes sense for him but do we think there are other factors in play?
Sam has been a great captain for us but realistically only 1 more year playing for us,will we see a change of captaincy for this season to keep O'Shea happy? |

Sadly I've given up on our season, only had the tv on whilst talking about work, no plan to watch the actual game
, Now we're winning and that 1% of hope of survival is increasing and we can finish the remainder of the season unbeaten!!!

Seems to be lots of well travelled people on here, so, my work schedule has changed and I have an extra free 24 hours, Has anyone been to Trieste? Is it worth visiting? Its not somewhere i'd ever plan to go but its very close to Ljubljana so thinking i should check it out while im there Or do I just do another day in Slovenia?

Having lived in Spain for the last 7 years and not been to any live games in that time,so i'm completely out of the loop. I'm assuming Ipswich and other clubs still categorise certain games at higher prices,if so is there much difference in price?
The reason I ask,I went to buy my father inlaw a Sevilla ticket for Xmas, they have 2 home games in Feb, cheapest Mallorca ticket €35, the other Barca min €140! I would expect a premium.but that seems excessive! Mallorca it is!!

Just watched MOTD2, very complimentary which is nice to see.
But the commentator just like the Sky commentator and I think last weeks too, said Delap is our record transfer, I thought he was £15m rising to £20m, wasn't Hutch £18M rising beyond £20m? |

But based on today,having played 4 of the top 7 in our first 6 games, and 25th,
21 y/o leading the line, Jack Clarke making a great first start,Phillips getting back to his best,improved understanding between the front 4, we just need to improve our threat from the right

Who can be in the matchday squad now and not 7- 10 weeks time. Happy for Delap to lead the line for now but we need someone similar to play the last 20-30 mins.
I like Ali and I think he'll be a good player for us But his style is too different to how we play.
Rubbish result but lots of positives to take from the game.
Not sure if I'd start Phillips or Cajuste next to Sam on Saturday? |

Moving on from today's game, do you think we'll rest Sam and play Phillips and Cajuste at CM, Townsend for Davis , then Clarke and O'Shea for debuts too?

I want to say happy but i'm never happy when we lose, But lets put today it into prospective:
Liverpool are in the top 3 teams in the country and arguably the top 10 in Europe
Walton was great today but not playing out from the back changed our game plan
Our defence played well ,Greaves was superb, Davis won't play against many better players on the left than Salah, which stopped him moving forward as much as he does
Midfield were fine 1st half but clearly struggled in the 2nd But this is why we have Philips and hopefully Cajuste both Internationals to come into the team
Hutch was good and will continue to improve
Szmodics to come into the team to add some threat as sadly i think Chappers is going to struggle this season
I thought Delap looked good, there's not many 21 y/o leading the line in the Prem, he just needs a first goal, hopefully another player to come in too. plus Hirst in about 6 weeks
No one expects us to get anything from Citeh but you never know! but we now have 2 weeks to concentrate on Fulham
The first game back was always going to be tough But i'm Confident for the season ahead!

Some amazing singings this summer and more to come! Thinking back to last summer did we only sign:
Hirst,Taylor and Slicker on perms
Hutch and Willlams on loan
I'm sure we must've signed more am I missing anyone?

I've just read an EADT article and it says we can make a rolling £61m loss across this upcoming season and the 2 last.
We lost 18.7 in League 1, we didn't spend much on transfers in the champ and obviously lots more tv money, full houses etc, is it likely our losses will be greater last year or similar?
Trying to work out how much we can lose ontop of the 100m plus we'll get for being in the prem to keep ffp happy |
