Town Make Taylor Enquiry
at 10:39:51

I suppose we're looking at the upside here - good age, potential for further development, increased sell-on value and immediate impact on the team.

But there do seem to be a few caveats that make it less attractive - mainly that they hate selling to us so it's going to be a big, big fee to make it happen.

Fraser Linked With Swans
at 12:20:44

Stunned he's started 17 times to be honest, his impact has been minimal. Not all his fault, as he's been shunted around the pitch with no clear position.

Depends on the new manager I guess and his playing style. In a team which dominates possession and passes through the lines I can see Fraser contributing. One which requires a bit more dynamism seems to be beyond him.

Appiah Times Ahead For Town?
at 16:07:57

I don't even care if you just made this entire transfer link up just to use that wonderful headline.

We're certainly shopping about this summer though, actually looking at viable options abroad rather than bargain bins options here. So refreshing.

Duo Set For Town Medicals
at 11:48:43

One of the most encouraging things about this transfer window has been the reaction of the fans from the player's last club. Hladky particularly sounds like a fantastic coup, while although Sheffield Wednesday fans seem a little split on Penney, he sounds like a good squad option at the right sort of age. I'd rather see comments saying 'he wasn't given much of a shot' rather than 'absolute pony get him gone'.

Keep them coming.

Dobra Promoted to First-Team Pre-Season Training
at 13:27:56

Although we don't know what happens behind closed doors, I think Dobra will be one who has shown Paul Cook he wants to be here next season and forced his way into the first team squad again - the exact sort of attitude we need. The gravy train for the freeloaders is over.

Bonne Loan Signing Close to Being Confirmed
at 11:58:38

This is a good signing. I would much rather be bringing in a striker who has just played 60+ games in the championship than someone more unproven. He's the right age, got the experience and will be confident of finding the net on a more regular occasion having stepped down a level.

QPR Leading Chase For Dozzell
at 14:11:24

As long as we're not just giving away assets for a pittance, this is a good move for all parties. He won't fit into Cook's mould of an all-action midfielder and perhaps another club will give him a bit of a rocket up the a***, as sometimes he was wondering around the pitch like a passenger last year.

All sounds promising. I just hope it's all sorted quickly as after the past week, our season has been resurrected from a dying ember. Every point matters, so hopefully the new regime is installed as quickly as possible.

Bishop: Oxford an Example of How Things Can Turn Around
at 17:28:05

Always love it when players compare us to teams where there are almost 0 similarities in an attempt to make it seem like that winning streak could be replicated here. Out of nowhere. With nothing changing.

Imagine if it happened the other way round and an opposition player went 'i mean just look an Ipswich, that shows how a team can become a total shambles rapidly'.

Brentford Eyeing El Mizouni
at 12:55:20

If the club in the EFL with the best player acquisition are sniffing around him, that should make people in the club sit up and think about his current situation, how he's being utilised and his position in the squad.

So what we'll do is sell him for peanuts and he'll get transferred to the PL for tens of millions in a few years. Rinse. And. Repeat.

Blue Action Plan Organised Protest
at 15:03:14

@Europablue I totally agree that I have a lack of faith that Evans would know who to bring in. He seems to have a worrying cabal of advisors around him, especially those from in the game (Harry Redknapp etc), quite a lot of the 'jobs for the boys' characters. I wouldn't be surprised if Lambert got the job off the back of his last job being in the Premier League, and that was enough to impress Evans. After having his hand burned with Hurst, he might shy away from the Cowleys, Paul Cook etc, and once again move towards some washed up manager with higher league experience (Sherwood, McClaren, someone of that ilk).

Still find it bizarre that some people think that sacking the manager won't make a difference.

Lambert has all the tools at his disposal and hasn't got a clue how to use them. Looking at some of the teams around us, they have smaller and less well-known squads but have managers who are able to look at a squad and identify a formation, way of playing and training schedule to get the best out of them. Lambert has never shown any evidence he is able to do that.

Of course, that would then depend on Evans hiring someone competent, he has a poor track record at that at the moment.

I'm desperate for change and anything that facilitates that is fine with me.

Owner Evans Apologises for Careful What You Wish For Comment
at 14:09:34

This reads like Evans is desperate to reiterate his desire for stability - but honestly where is the ambition?

If he can't see that his approach so far has been an abject failure he is deluded - we finished 11th in League One last season for Pete's sake. The clubs lowest ebb in almost 70 years. Is that somehow excusable because of some long-term ambition for financial stability? And to top it off we're shackled to an underperforming manager because he handed him a long-term contract after a few decent results.

Basically what he's saying is he isn't pragmatic enough to be able to keep up with the shifting environment of running a football club. And why oh why is harping on about parachute payments in the Championship - a league we are no longer in because of mismanagement. We are not in the position we are because of the financial clout of other clubs. It's entirely self-inflicted.

Judge: As Low as I've Felt in My Career
at 10:31:18

All down to the management being totally unable to get the best out of the players available.

Perhaps telling them how well they're doing every week when we're losing to the likes of Oxford isn't the best approach. The mentality is all wrong, and the management hasn't got a clue what to do about it, apart from saying they are wilting under the pressure of 'expectation'.

All we expect is you win a few games, which doesn't seem too out of order in my book.

Lambert: Whoever You Are You've Got to Earn the Right
at 12:40:41

Blimey, Paul Lambert sounds all over the place!

Comparing wage budgets seems to me a perfectly fair way to see if a club/squad is underperforming. Resource allocation is key at this level, and if we have the highest wage bill and are sitting in 7th - that indicates a problem.

And the whole 'earning the right thing' is a bit bizarre. Having expectations is no bad thing. Anyone with an ounce of football knowledge could look at our squad this season and say we've underachieved.

Trialist Wilson Set to Sign
at 12:22:08

Don't see the negativity around this signing.

He's a cheap and experienced option as a 3rd/4th choice centre back. We're going to play a hell of a lot of games this season so need another CB, and no point investing loads of money on someone who isn't going to be happy as a role player.
