Waghorn Linked With Town Return
at 16:50:23

I would bring him back, Derby paid decent money for him for a reason.
He scores from all areas and can take a free kick, age is not a barrier and in this league with good recruitment, he would rip it up.
His wife is still active with a local charity, so I guess that this is also another reason as to why he may be linked.
Charlton Athletic 0-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 15:34:14

As another poster stated, the problem is our academy.
We play at level 2 and produce level 2 players.
We talk about how good they are, but they don't succeed at Div 1 level let alone progress to anything greater.
The last Prem player that we produced from the academy was Wickham and we nicked him from Colchester.
Hate to say it but the reason why that mob up the road succeed is down to having a progressive academy.
Backdated Ban For Referee Drysdale
at 21:38:59

The official was at fault from start to finish.
If this is correct then, Judge was correctly cautioned for allegedly diving, then should have had a straight red card for using foul and abusive language to an official.
A referee at that level should be trusted to enforce the laws, but alas it seems they are either incapable of understanding the law or too weak to enforce it?
Jackson Linked With Huddersfield Loan Move
at 10:56:08

To be fair Jacksons dismissal has given everyone a downer on him and rightfully so.
He is at his best when he is played in a front 2 where his pace is his asset.
If PL was to change formation to 442, then you would see why Championship clubs are interested him and believe it or not he will score goals and we will climb the table.

Chambers: Not Acceptable For This Club
at 11:01:46

One thing about Chambers is he is honest and he bleeds blue.
Personally it was probably his worst individual performance yesterday although Dembele will give a lot younger full backs the run around.
I also think that in time he would be an outstanding candidate as a future ITFC coach or manager as he knows this club and what is expected.
McCarthy Sacked By APOEL
at 10:53:11

Wow, blame the club not MM, mind you he must have had a decent package to move there?
I don't wish him anything but the best of luck should he decide to go into management again, but fear this may put him off for good.
Supporters will slag him of,f but just remember he worked with a limited budget and how much money did the club make out of his signings, Bart, Mings, Keiffer Moore, Webster, Garner, Waghorn, Berra and more.
Loans were also spot on, Fraser, Lawrence, Williams, Celina, Maitland-Niles, Chris Wood and others.
Best of luck MM
Lambert: Different Game Against Hull
at 08:38:10

Absolutely sick to death of hearing how Norwood is not match fit??? What the hell is going on in training.
Nobby, its not what is going on in training with Norwood, its what Norwood is doing off of the pitch is where the injuries are coming from!
Ipswich Town 1-0 Crewe Alexandra - Match Report
at 17:50:02

Crewe were good and deserved a point, but god was the commentating dreadful.
The opening salvo was that McGuinness was fortunate to hold his place, he played well on Tuesday and again today, do we want Nsiala and Taylor back?
I thought the 2 young centre backs along with Holy were outstanding.
He then followed that up with constant Crewe praising, even when we were ahead.
I honestly thought he would call the final score Ipswich 1 Brazil 0
Lambert: I’ve Never Seen Anything Like That in a Game of Football in All My Time
at 07:38:15

Spanishblue, I have to agree 100% with you, its ok to have possession of the ball but if you do not make it count then its pointless.
We have one pace, one plan and no plan B.
Personally, I would bring Jackson back and play him up top with Hawkins and let him have a free role because with his pace we could play at a quicker tempo.
Danny Cowley described him on Sky as being a game changer with his pace, no wonder Champ teams are chasing him, but when fit we dont play him.
Another thing poor discipline as shown by the manager is only followed by the team and to actually admonish any blame for Nolans behaviour is unbelievable as it was rash, childish and the sign of ill discipline in the camp as shown by his manager.
I get that we are all in this together attitude but I saw a stat where we now have the second worse disciplinary record in the division and thats playing low tempo football!
Norwood Sidelined By Hamstring Injury
at 08:18:36

Forget Norwood and his behaviour, injuries etc, we are potentially short of strikers for the next 8 weeks.
With Jackson a potential mover before next Monday, although I would hope that we have learned our lessons from previous windows, I would be getting back in Arsenals ears and seeing if Balogun is available on loan.
He looked rather useful in the U21 game and for once looks different from the normal strikers we have on our books.
Lambert: I Don't Know if Downes Wanted to Play Today
at 17:37:33

I back Lambert with this one, all players what ever age want to do is play.
Downes tells him he is not right s that is what his agent has told him to say and rightfully PL leaves him out.
If Downes wants to play for ITFC then he should be knocking on the managers door and telling him so especially after he gave him some time off to think about his future.
Has he withdrawn his transfer request?
So its unchanged, why play a player who wants away and while the results are positive he isn't missed.
The only thing I worry about is that he will be sold to close to the window to replace although Lambert did hint at a couple of loans on Sky.
Town Reject Bournemouth Bid For Jackson - Reports
at 16:34:04

For once we are sitting pretty with money as they have just got in 40m for Ake and 20m for Wilson all banked.
I see that clubs are involved in a bidding war with 20k being on the table for Josh King as well, so they are desperate for a striker.
If ever there was an opportunity to make over the odds for an unproven striker its now.
Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 20:32:22

The scorelline does not worry me one little bit, we know that we have to improve in many ways and need many new players, however the kids will have learned from today which is the real winner.
I hope they learn again from West Ham on Tuesday and then play 2 more Premier league teams before we start the important stuff.
I am sick of wiping the floor with ColU and Irish reserve teams and then arriving at the season start all cool and high as a kite and then getting whipped by clubs who have played better opposition.
The better the opposition then the higher the bar, one thing even Lambert can boast about.
Bristol Rovers at Portman Road in Carabao Cup
at 10:52:13

Be a decent test as I think Bristol Rovers are this seasons dark horses in the division.

Also with the season due to start the next week, then I cannot see either teams weakening the starting line ups either.
Blues Make Garbutt Final Offer - Report
at 13:38:41

With the salary cap, signing these players will now be down the players perspective of where the better club prospects are and better areas to live etc........

As the wages will become virtually the same from club to club.
Former Blue Smith in Limbo
at 11:22:56

Next stop Colchester United
Former Blues Defender Smith Leaves Sunderland
at 08:50:30

Its not about how good he was then or now, its about how fit he is?
He only made the bench 4 times for Sunderland and was unfit the rest of the time.
He spent 8 weeks training with without being offered a contract, I think that its time to move on with Tommy.
Lambert Still Targeting Top Two
at 13:34:43

Its all about home form, no other team in any division has 9 games at home and 4 games away.
If it can be achieved at home then it wont just be automatic promotion, it will be champions as well.
All of the others have to play each other as well.
However with this squad we shouldn't be relying on others.
Morris Nets Twice as U23s Win at Coventry
at 16:28:40

This boy has potential but it is never going to happen with us this season.
I don't know where he is with his fitness, after such a serious injury, but to me he needs to
be loaned out and playing regularly, not every other week against youth team boys, after Forest Green its a backward step.
We have 17 cup finals left and I cannot see Morris making the bench, let alone the team.
Blades Linked With £3m Woolfenden Move
at 10:20:58

If we have any ambition we should block any bid until the end of the season.
If we fail to get promoted then it becomes a different story as the player will probably want to leave.
3 million is a snip but only 7 players have been sold for over 5 million in the history of league 1 including Delph and Alli.
So you can see why 3 mill is a starting point, this is another factor of dropping down a division as the bidding would start at 8 million in the championship.
