Yes, remember it vaguely. Was at all those, I think. At Millwall we were right in the corner underneath the floodlight pylon. Team was in the original all orange Fisons away kit. I remember getting the train to Tranmere (Rock Ferry station?) Not many of us there, how things have changed! I think PhilTWTD used to sell the TWTD fanzine in those away days, at that time. Looking back at my diary, we also needed a replay away at Hartlepool Utd to get through to the 4th Round against Liverpool. I remember seeing the team coach at Hartlepool and wishing John Wark 'good luck' as he got off the coach. Easily the most memorable game was the replay at Liverpool, probably the best ever, can remember the feeling when we went 2 - 1 up in Extra Time. And John Wark turning to wave to the Kop when he was substituted. |

Coisty slurring words, Liverpool reserves home against Southampton reserves playing out from the back. Like a pre season friendly. FA Cup's gone. Not a moan, just the way it is. A Liv sub came on with floppier hair than Russell Martin. Pudding basin haircuts all round. All our league games are Cup finals. |

No, nothing. Just checked a Citeh forum and they said City made him available and offloaded him as surplus to their requirements. |

Slicker fee was undisclosed, his value on Transfermarkt is given as £300k, he was given a three year contract when signed from Man City. Is young, but has hardly played. By comparison.. Vas £400K - realistic given his age Walton £900K - no one is going to pay this, unproven since foot injury Don't know where the rumours of significant fee came from. Guesswork I suppose. Been in Pep's match day squad. We needed a third keeper and he didnt count towards the squad numbers. Too many unknowns here. |

Significant money was spent on Ciaran Slicker. Town will replace one of the other keepers if an upgrade is needed on Walton or Vas. Hard to tell what they'll do, unless Vas and Walton were given new contracts in January. Slicker got us through a pen shootout at Reading. Walton has been given 3 cup games and hasn't grabbed those opportunities. We lost two of those games. His contract was up in June, did we renew it in January, or are we going to ask him to look for another club and leave for free. Too risky to bring him back as every game is now as big as a cup final. I can see why people are saying bring him back, but he hasn't looked good enough when brought in. Vas was brilliant from game 1 at Sunderland, same contract situation as Walton, if we renewed his contract then he'll be staying. Has had a brilliant season. One of the main reasons we've overachieved this season. Yes he's been pressed into errors, but huge credit for being so important with his distribution. So I would see Slicker being at least the backup keeper next season, otherwise why bring him in when we did for the significant fee... |

The goals involving Fridge were incredibly unlucky. Lack of a decision on a foul before the first goal. Mistake by assistant on second goal. Undeniable. Very sorry for the players, management and supporters. We shouldn't go big on criticism today. Referee what can you say. If the ref is good we usually get a result. These Premier League refs bundled off to the Championship are garbage. When we are away from home they always go with the home crowd reaction, so when at home our supporters need to be 100% up for it and influence ref to give us some decisions. |

Sentiment. Naiivity. Arrogance. Nonchalance. Taking up a squad space so gave him a game. |

Didn't look like a deflection to me. The Championship goalkeeper of the season may have been unsighted and I think he gets done by the power and can only pat it back into play. Then the championship goalkeeper of the season lands on the shot from Jeremy S. And it squirms in under his body. I know who my Championship goalkeeper of the season is and its not this guy. |
| Forum Reply | Leicester charge £18 to park at the ground. at 13:31 22 Jan 2024
Cheapest parking in Leicester is at Dover Street Car Park (near the railway station). It may not fill up that early, as it's a 30 min walk to the ground from there. Worth a try if you want to save £10 - £15 and have time for walking. |

Could be that so many managerial changes (when compared with the past) mean that new managers want to check them out (at parent club). |

Yes, or they were when I was a Season Ticket Holder. That was a long time ago, maybe the same blue upholstery has lasted 50 years |

Well well well, interesting. Barnes' fighting/pushing excised from the NCFC highlights on YouTube. To see them, take a look at the Millwall highlights video. |

agree, the subscription thing has also meant that I don't see the contract updates, so I only just found out through other sources that both Vas and Walton are out of contract in June. Hence the interest from Celtic in Hladky - prompted no doubt by Vas' agent. Surely we will be looking to give Slicker a chance as he was a considerable coup from Man City but so far was only given the Reading league Cup game , which I didn't see but we got through via a penalty shootout. Tells its own story. |
| Forum Reply | January transfer window = improving the squad or improving the first eleven? at 12:40 25 Dec 2023
Some good points on this thread. I still think JD has a part to play as he is an excellent defender. Just seems to be finding problems in getting fit. He was brilliant at Sunderland, putting his body on the line, apart from one poor pass which led to Morsy having to take a yellow card. He might have played against Leeds if fully fit. Anyway he is good for the "Backs to the Wall" matches - which may become more frequent from here onwards. But on the evidence of Elland Road we are crying out for a stronger, fitter, quicker midfield And bearing in mind Gamechanger will probably never be in a better position to realise the ambition to reach the Premier League We have to play Leicester twice in a month Kieran McKenna is definitely showing signs of frustration- can only guess it's with the pressure of trying to sustain success and seeing how difficult to sustain it when availabilities of players is becoming less predictable and players he is selecting can't sustain his style of play against teams who've only now been seriously coached to take us seriously Having to deal with mercurial players like Brandon Williams Losing Burgess to international duty Sky Kick Off times Our club seen as a little club due to decades in the doldrums - hard to attract players Referees - giving us less and less v Norwich and Leeds Our 1st half of season success means we have to completely change our recruitment strategy and bring in some Premier League quality right now.. . . How we do that when we had trouble attracting even George Hirst? (Not a Premier League player) - although he will want to prove Leicester wrong in the two games Loans are fine until teams want them back So I think we need to go shopping at Premier League level bearing all those points in mind: Left Centre Back - although I would really like to see Elkan Baggott kept back from Indonesia and tried here Another Sam Morsy who plays on the edge of the referee but is box to box A striker to replace George Hirst in the eleven We need "top two" as I can see Norwich (Duffy, Barnes and the ref onside) scraping in and spoiling everything. The significance of not putting them to the sword at Portman Road is potentially season-defining. That's why they celebrated as if they were about to jump on an open top bus parade. |

That was violent conduct and should've resulted in a red card, yet if you didn't see the match live, you won't have seen it. Not included in any highlights I've seen. Forgotten about by Sky. To get the decision, Hladky has to go down poleaxed. And stay down, all ten other ITFC players surrounding the referee. We didn't, and they were not down to 10 men fir 85 minutes. Imagine one of our players doing that to Leeds' keeper early on tomorrow, I'd guarantee a red. Portman Road reaction compared to Elland Road, you have to help the referee to make his mind up. Or he'll take the easy option, always. |
