Early warning re Southampton Road trip

I went down to a gig near Southampton last night (awesome modern proggers Big Big Train, warmup show for their tour that starts properly tonight).
I left Ipswich yesterday at 2pm, and arrived in Eastleigh (a few miles short of Southampton) at around 6.15pm. Yuk. There are longterm roadworks on the M25 in both directions, and also for 10-15 miles on the M3 from the M25. (For once, the A12 was flowing well).
Coming back this morning, I left at 8am, and finally got home around 1pm.

Allow plenty of time Saturday, especially as you'll likely be parking some distance from the ground. (The away end has moved btw, to the opposite side of the stadium from last year)
