Ipswich Town 2-3 Swindon Town - Match Report
I realized today, I just don't care about this team anymore. Our economy is in the toilet, our president is a domestic terrorist, my friends are unemployed, borderline homeless, sick, and in two tragic cases, dead. The ineptitude of this owner and manager is just one more irritant I don't need or want. I'm tired of the excuses...

You know how you get BLM to go away and to stop people from rioting? Get rid of systematic racism and oppression. It's not difficult to comprehend. Here in the US, our cops are being judge, jury, and executioner and murdering black men at an alarming and disgusting rate. At peaceful anti-police brutality protests, the police are conducting police brutality. A black man is far more likely than a white man to go to prison for minor non-violent drug-related offenses. That's been proven over and over again here. The US has a for-profit prison system and young black men are more valuable to private prison owners locked away.
The one interesting thing about articles like this, is the comments make it really easy to see who the racists are.
Nobbysnuts - "If I got on one knee with my fist in the air supporting white people i would probably be arrested" You're confusing white supremacy with equality. I'm pegging you as an all lives matter kinda guy.
matthewwylds - "BLM is an Racist group" You know what's racist? Murdering and repressing people because of their color.
ohnjmyers - "Perhaps fans just wanna get on with the game...?" Perhaps black people are tired of being murdered by cops.
TimmyH - "I'm certainly not racist but.." But this sentence is ALWAYS followed by something racist. The same as "I'm not sexist but... I'm not homophobic but..." I'm not racist, but I'm going to say something racist, but it's okay, as I'm not racist so it doesn't count. Jesus... do you listen to yourself?
And for god's sake, read up on "defund the police". It doesn't mean getting rid of the police force. It means using some of the budget for rehabilitation programs. Getting people off of drugs, off the streets. It means education and giving people a fighting chance to be contributing members of society. You know, getting to the root cause of why people commit crime. Treat the cause, and you fix the symptoms. Because crime, jail, overpopulated prisons and police brutality are the symptoms. The cause is a broken system. Broken economics, broken education, broken mental health. Fix that and we won't need black lives matter, because when we're finally on an even playing field, all lives will finally matter.
Lambert: The Negativity Attached to the Club is Huge
Our first shot on goal was in the 90th minute yesterday. Is that the fan's fault?
Players are being played out of position. Is that the fan's fault?
Three games without a goal. Is that the fan's fault?
Almost 18 years of average, run of the mill football. Is that the fan's fault?
A string of uninspiring managers and poor ownership. Is that the fan's fault?
We've given every manager a chance at Town. Every damned one of them. And they always turn on us after we tire of losing. After we tire of season after season of being average at best, and relegation fodder at worst. We've had nothing to celebrate in years. We're at our lowest point since 10 years before I was born. I'm 46 and Ipswich have never sucked this bad. And frankly, I'm tired of the fans always being blamed. I'm tired of watching players who earn more in a week, than many do in six months, put in lazy and uninspired performances, have who seem to be there for the paycheck alone. I'm tired of hanging on to the laurels of a legacy that hasn't been valid in almost 40 years. I'm tired of supporting a team where I get so little back from it. And I'm tired of always being in the crosshair when things go wrong. Fans pay so much to be part of this and judging by the fact we do shows we want this to succeed. We pay for tickets, shirts, memorabilia, food, beer, and those of us out of the country, iFollow. We pay our share to get this ship going. Which makes us investors. We feel ownership over this, so yes, we are bothered when things are going wrong, and certainly when we're blamed for it.
And this is a shame, as Lambert's efforts at first started off so well. I really thought we'd repaired that bridge between manager and fans after the MM, PH, PJ, RK eras.
There is no way back from this point now. This attack has made this issue irreparable.

Football and politics are the only two professions where you can continuously screw up and still have a job the next day. If any of us had a 30% success rate at our jobs, you can bet we'd be fired.

Ooh Daniel72 has been researching on Google. He's earned his MD and knows all about COVID19. I'll let my friend 's wife whose husband is currently in an induced coma with internal blleding know this is rubbish. I'm sure she will agree with you. Maybe the five people I know who have died from this will also agree with you.

And Europablue, there is plenty wrong with loving Trump. Unless of course, you like your world leaders to be lying, thieving, draft-dodging, tax dodging, homophobic, sexist, racist, uneducated, science-denying, climate-change-denying, pro-Christian a$$holes.
EFL Trophy Now Papa John's Trophy
John Schnatter, the owner of Papa John's is a piece cr*p. He's made it quite clear where he stands on racial inequity and the BLM protests. He wanted NFL players to stop kneeling as it was hurting his sales. I won't give his company a dime. It's a shame it's now in England tainting football. So yeah, he falls in line with our racist idiot president. Birds of a feather and all that... and no, half the country did not vote for Trump. He lost the popular vote.
EFL Trophy Now Papa John's Trophy
So now it's the Bigotted, Trump loving, Racist, Piece of Sh*t trophy?
That doesn't have a very good ring to it...
Ipswich Town 2-0 Gillingham - Match Report
So in a climate where a pandemic is ravaging the world, gate receipts are at zero, club staff are being laid off due to insufficient funds, the season is shorter by a month, but the regular amount of games are to be played, the team try to rest the first team to avoid illness or injury in a tournament that doesn't matter, then they get fined. Makes total sense...
Lambert: I Don't Know if Downes Wanted to Play Today
Man. I wish I could say I don't feel like going to work today and expecting my employer to keep paying me regardless.
The longer this drags on, the less I'm liking Downes. Another young footballer teased with the bright lights on higher tiered football causing them to immediately turn their back on their parent clubs and sulking. Get him off the payroll and replace him with someone who wants to play.

"It was a good team, until I saw all the Norwich connections." This brought a smile to my face.
