I had the pleasure or meeting him at Jimmy Hills memorial service at Coventry Cathedral.
A lovely quiet and unassuming man I mentioned how popular he was as a player and how many fans wanted him back at Portman Road at some point in the future. He thanked me and said that the Town result was one of the first he looked for on a Saturday afternoon.

What a great number of posters don't realise is that for Evans to go he needs to find a buyer ???
He is not going to give the club away for nothing ? I am sure we owe him a great deal of money, given that we were so close to administration?
If you know anyone who wants to buy a club that's on its knees, please let us all know ? Even Ed Sheeran with his considerable wealth would not be so foolish !
So please just be patient and get behind the team.....the ‘Evans must go' mantra is understandable but naive, because it won't happen until we find an interested buyer !

So not for the first time MM tells us that we were beaten by the better team? We scraped a draw with bottom placed Rotherham and were very lucky against second bottom Wigan ? So how close is our squad to being the worst in the league ? Who is to blame MM or ME ?? I went with my father in law and wife to watch the sky blues against Colchester last week (both life long fans) as a tractor boy of 42 years I was staggered by the apathy and negativity in the crowd and the subsequent performance was dire and cov lost 1 nil and so ended any hopes of reaching the playoffs.....sound familiar...?
Just like Cov a new regime needs to come in and invest in quality and not loan players and has beens, crikey they've got Stephen hunt on the bench ( mind you I'd have hunt in there before Douglas ) .
It is very sad to witness two once great sides swimming against the tide....never thought I would say this,but Mick....maybe at the end of the season you can do the honourable thing and move on. there will be a number of teams in the championship looking for and old experienced head? I wish you and tc both the very best of luck and if you come back and beat us with a team playing free flowing football....good for you.....in the meantime.....lets bring in Holloway or someone younger and with enough drive and ambition and creativity to take the club forward. Time for some perspective.
I wrote a piece after Tuesday's game. We needed to win 6 from 9. So now we need to win 6 from 8 including tough away games at Derby, Wednesday and Middlesboro.
MM has demonstrated both as a player and a long standing and for the most part successful manager that he is HONEST, HARD WORKING, THOUGHTFUL AND A DECENT human being
At the end of the season, however it may end, I am sure that mick will do the right thing. there was a suggestion in his press conference that he is well aware of the feelings of the fans on the terraces and in media such as this.
Telling the management to go is not the answer. Besides which who could do a better job given the resources? no disrespect to recent signings but we are not even shopping in Aldo but regularly scavenging in the local charity shops?
So the best we can ALL do is get behind the team and believe. |

So.....here's the way I see it.......prior to tonight we had 10 games remaining and to be sure of the play offs we needed 7 wins and we now need six.
We have five at home and at our best, whatever that looks like, we can win them. Rotherham and Warnock on Saturday. He once famously said after a battering ( in charge of the blades I think? someone correct me?) "that's the last time I try and play football against that lot! " well there's not much danger of that happening....so I will take a 1-0 scrappy affair...o.g in injury time!
That means we need to win one of our remaining four away? Wolves, Derby, Middlesboro or Wednesday? take your pick .....or we collect three draws ...which would mean one defeat in the last ten going into the play offs...not beyond us ? or is it? Dids and Fraser back possibly ? warm bank holiday Monday ? Town back in the Prem ? ME gives MM 150 million to invest in the squad and England beat France 3-0 in the euro finals in Paris ? ? ?
Which is all possible? or is it? you decide.....! |
