Head of Recruitment Rejoins Manchester United
at 21:56:29

Not sure it's a good move for him. He will find players to develop, and then watch them all disappear on loan to other clubs. Meanwhile he'll always be under the shadow of the first team Head of Recruitment. Still, he has made his choice.

Well done to Maidstone. One of the greatest upsets ever in the FA Cup and will be talked about for decades to come.

Ipswich Town 1-2 Maidstone United - Match Report
at 19:02:56

Good post Derry from Berry.

Appalling result and utterly embarassing. The worst result in our history? Yes...I think so. People will still be going on about "remember when Maidstone Utd beat Ipswich in 2024?" 50 years from now (there are entire pages and websites dedicated to Sutton beating Coventry in 1989 and Sutton were in the 5th tier- not 6th at the time)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sutton_United_2–1_Coventry_City_(1989)

2 strikers badly..badly needed but I'm very concerned about the quality of players that we've been recently linked with. If we expect strikers who are doing reasonably well in the 3rd or 4th tier to step up and play at top Championship level...we will be sadly mistaken. Strikers rarely (if ever) make that jump and succeed. We've seen how well some of our players have done in the leagues below. I'm seriously concerned (and have been for a while).

Good game of football and thought Broadhead in particular had a great game. Defensively...well...we do need to improve. Good game for the neutral...

Queens Park Rangers 0-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report

Class result and nine points from the first three games is excellent. However....if it wasn't for Hladky we would have lost that game. We can't rely on our GK to be in world class form game after game....that defender (and another striker) much needed. Sinclair Armstrong looked superb...would love it if we tried to get him in. He was feeding off long balls so had a difficult afternoon. In a passing team...his acceleration and pace would really pay dividends.

Cambridge United 2-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report

Poor performance overall but really doesn't matter...it's a friendly after all. Some of the defending at times was haphazard but we were probably trying to avoid injuries. Score line really doesn't matter...

Morsy Linked With Saudi Clubs

Unless it is an extremely recent development...I can't see this happening.

McKenna: Camara and Baggott Set For Loans, Pigott in Discussions On Town Future
at 23:53:08

Agree Simonds92- a recall option for Camara is a must. Can understand the need to get him fit and playing, so think a loan deal is a wise move.

Getting him on loan would be a great bit of transfer business for the club he goes too....

Hirst: We Know How Big This Game Is
at 20:42:54

They aren't in-form away from home:

Last 10 games away from home=

Port Vale 1-0 Morecambe
Plymouth 2-1 Morecambe
Papa Jones Trophy (Lincoln win on penalties)
Lincoln 2-1 Morecambe
Carabao Cup - MK Dons 2-0 Morecambe
FA Cup- Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 Morecambe
Wycombe 1-1 Morecambe
Cheltenham 1-0 Morecambe
Papa Jones Trophy - Harrogate 2-1 Morecambe
Burton 1-1 Morecambe

Won- 0 Drawn-2 Lost- 8

Goals for - 6
Goals against- 15

Their recent home form against bottom 4 teams has been good, but their away form has probably been the worst in this league.

McKenna Not Expecting Any Further Business
at 19:08:33

Good breakdown of the squad situation Bazza8654...

I think we'll only bring in someone new at this point if we pick up a long-term injury in the next few days (let's hoping that doesn't happen). Summer can see some movement of players out and Keough will likely coach.

A lot depends on whether we get promoted. Many players moved to the club with the expectation that we'd quickly be back in the Championship.

Davis: We Needed to Be Mentally Stronger
at 23:07:33

Good on the lad for stepping forward and saying the right things. It's clear that the mental side of our game needs work and someone needs to address it. It's the one area which can be overlooked and isn't picked up easily through data analysis.

How many late equalisers or late winners have we conceded this season? I've never known a season like it in terms of late goals against us. We are put under pressure and we crack like an egg. Compare that with Wednesday, who get their 1-0 lead and then restrict teams from getting any opportunities ((they have to score a 30 yard screamer to equalise). Every member of their team knows what to do once they've scored and carries out their plan....

Plymouth have a different approach. Just keep on scoring....
