I think we might have a clear winner for a change...

The spread is pretty substantial at the best of times. It's only a problem on instant sell though.

Less of an impact on lower value players too.

It seems to be the one market on the up. They payout for media reports too so plenty of activity taking place.

Might change it things carry on too long.

Andre Dozzell mentioned in this under 50p article:

Not sure I can see him joining a bigger club given he's failed to make an impression this year.

Several people were trying to convince the forum that these morons are underpaid the other day...

I disagreed.

I rest my case.

Because you compare them to others who are also overpaid (depending on your outlook of course) it doesn't mean they are underpaid.

Let me know when they stop claiming expenses for Mars Bars and we'll revisit their tough life.

The Coronavirus Death Figures
at 12:18 2 Apr 2020

It is people who died having tested positive for Covid-19.

The deaths are therefore overstated in terms of how Covid-19 compares to something like the seasonal flu, which is recorded as cause of death. The key question is how overstated is the number - who knows!?

Of course, we should all be following the guidelines - and I am - but it does make you wonder what the overall UK death toll will look like in 12 months time given that, on average, 1,700 people die each day anyway.

Still some people acting like fools
at 17:08 29 Mar 2020

Given social media is full of multi-millionaires telling us it's no big deal to just stay inside whilst streaming from their hot tub that has a pool and a driveway bigger than my entire rosd in the background, I'm inclined to agree.

Current lockdown to be reviewed on April 13th/14th
at 18:13 26 Mar 2020

I think it will be lifted back to where we were last week, which isn't massively different to be honest.

There does come a point where mental and general health of the masses becomes important. People can't stay under a form of lockdown indefinitely.

at 10:52 26 Mar 2020

I do take your point but in the case of the 18 year old the medical professional involved said the virus played no part in the death.

The media sensationalise things too far in my opinion with misleading clickbait headlines.

My only gripe with the government is a lack of clarity around the true death rate; not in terms of a % as that all hangs on widespread testing but the split between those that have died as a direct result of Covid-19 and those who were positive but died of something else, which is how I believe the flu rate is calculated.

Of course, every death matters but I think context is important to limit the mass hysteria we're currently seeing in shops etc.

I'm not downplaying the virus. Including someone who has tested positive but died of something else - see the 18 year old - is overstating the true number of deaths.

Yes, people with anxiety are better to know evidence or the facts. The fact is that if 50 deaths are reported in a day, at least some of those 50 would have died regardless of Covid-19. What % is anyone's guess.

I'll point out what I said earlier in the thread.

"Not to enter debate or to downplay any death but simply to put facts on the table it wouldn't be an additional 50 deaths because of the way Covid-19 deaths are counted.

If someone is positive for Covid-19 then they are counted as a statistic even if that's not what killed them."

*change the number 50 to 28 and you'll see my point.

I'd also refer you to my full post to understand why I'm looking at it that way.

Is the 21 y/o Covid-19 death fake news?
at 06:58 26 Mar 2020

The article is doing the rounds on all major news sites with the wording 'according to her family' but I'm struggling to recall - or find - any stats issued by the government that confirm a 21 year old with no healh issues passing away.

Not to enter debate or to downplay any death but simply to put facts on the table it wouldn't be an additional 50 deaths because of the way Covid-19 deaths are counted.

If someone is positive for Covid-19 then they are counted as a statistic even if that's not what killed them.

The 18 year old that died, for example, was included as a Covid-19 death but the medical professionals stated he was coronavirus positive but the virus played no part in his death.

Of course, the virus is clearly killing some before their time but the true number isn't actually clear.

I'm not downplaying the virus but when people I know suffer with severe health anxiety it angers me that the numbers reported in the media are seemingly slightly cooked.

How are they supposed to enforce this one exercise thing a day?
at 12:07 24 Mar 2020

These measures are acceptable as a temporary measure but if 12 weeks rolls into 24 and into 48 then what happens?

You can't place a country/the world into any form of lockdown indefinitely. There will come a point where some - if not most - say I'd rather live and chance it than stay at home isolate and diving into depression that ultimately ends in poor health and death anyway.

I'm not trying to talk down how serious coronavirus is but I feel a line will need to be drawn at some point.

TWTD WWYD - Nursery Edition
at 19:52 22 Mar 2020

My daughters nursery have also confirmed closure this week. Their approach seems reasonable:

1 month full pay
After that, payment will be due but at a TBC reduced rate based on government aid.

I'm personally happy with the above as I want a good nursery for my children to go back to after this all calm downs.

I'd be mightily annoyed at full price throughout though as I believe the nursery will be profiting.

Anyone seen the Sky News report from the Italian hospital?
at 09:22 20 Mar 2020

Well invest in the testing and find out then. The alternative is a long time of nothing, just isolating and restricting the spread is not a long term strategy.

And, more importantly, once this all blows over we will need a life to come back to.

I am taking the advice given but I am confused why the healthy masses aren't allowed to crack on as normal with those who are vulnerable encourage to isolate.
