100%! It also felt like they consciously edited his reply to the question about the manager, to deliberately make it sound like they weren’t necessarily backing Cook. It clearly cuts him off half-way through a more measured response. Whatever helps Look Norwich feel better about themselves, though. It’s amazing that they can’t just be content, even when riding the crest of their own wave! It’s sad really. [Post edited 8 Apr 2021 8:36]

To be fair to greyhound, you could say the exact same thing about Phil’s sources, couldn’t you? Not saying I believe it’s imminent, any more than I believe it’s faltering to the point of collapse, I’m just saying that whether def info is def or not, no one’s going to tell you their sources if they ever want to have any def info in the future - and presumably someone has to break NDAs for either side of this to start trickling out. I assume no one knows who greyhound is. So either you choose to believe them, or you don’t, but they don’t owe any of us anything more than they want to share, surely? |

Have the expectations changed since the last time we applied to be Cat 1 and missed out by some tiny margin? I don’t remember the size of the training facilities being a major factor, but maybe I’m misremembering. Would be a shame if it rules out Cat 1 in the future, but we’re probably a way off from reapplying again either way. [Post edited 6 Apr 2021 7:16]

And that's exactly my point, Phil... he's had to invest more. He hasn't chosen to, he's HAD to. What we're lacking is the kind of investment that brings change, that brings improvement, that brings competitiveness. It doesn't have to be huge investment, but it has to be he right kind of investment. I'm afraid he doesn't get credit from me for not letting the club die, he'll start getting credit when he starts helping the club to grow! Sadly, I've seen no evidence that he's capable of, or particularly willing to do that. |

You've nailed it in that last paragraph, Hype. IF he doesn't want to sell, it's not because he's a fan, it's because he's afraid that the next owner does what he's incapable fo doing and makes us a success! It's hubris. |

Wouldn't that just be typical of Marcus Evans. He treats this football club like a child treats a goldfish! He pretends he gives a damn when people openly accuse him of neglect, but only really pays it any attention when it's at death's door! Giving the fish just enough food to survive, is not behaviour to be proud of, or that I give him credit for. He chose to own the fish, making sure it doesn't die is the absolute least I'd expect him to do! I may have gone too far with the fish analogy. Anyway... His prolonged neglect of and/or disinterest in this club means that, if we go up this summer, it will need extraordinary new investment. More so than it ever has under his reign, and I simply don't believe he's going to be willing to provide it. He'll opt for a "this squad has got us promoted, so let's see how they do" approach to Championship survival... and hope he can sell the club for a few extra quid before we come down again! It's clear as day to me. I don't buy this "he doesn't really want to sell" malarky, I'm afraid. If he didn't want to sell, how did it ever get as far as it seems to have gotten? You don't accidentally almost sell the club you claim to be a fan of! If Evans is the one that's stopping this from happening, I would implore him to reconsider and to just move aside and let the club rebuild itself. If you're reading this... let us go, Marcus. Please. I was reading this last night, trying to figure out the same... the only assumption I came away with was that, given there are five (?) people who would effectively become a 'Relevant Person', the timeframe may be a little longer than if it were just one person being vetted. Hopefully it won't take them too long, but it wouldn't surprise me if it all goes quiet for a month*. *I'm going to post this and there will be a 'Takeover Complete' story on the homepage! |

Yeah, it definitely sounds like he's trying to be cute with his words... failing, but trying. It's just coming out a bit confused. From what's been said over the last few days, it seems highly unlikely that there is not some serious truth to what's been reported. I may be clutching at straws, but maybe it's gone beyond an offer, which I suppose would technically make what he's saying true. Doesn't explain his confidence that Evans will still be at the helm in the summer though, that's the most comital bit, as far as I can see*. Maybe Evans is just trying to play hardball in negotiations and trying to make it clear he won't be bullied into a sale by the media. *Adding this after the fact, but I just remembered that Evans is supposedly keeping 5%, so I guess this is also arguably a true statement. I hope he does. He seems like a good chap. It's hardly his fault he's looked a little out of his depth. He was thrown in to the deep end with weights tied round his ankles! I'm certain there's a place for him somewhere. |

That's exactly my point. I would be surprised if they aren't considering a new ground, but if their penchant is for more atmosphere, more of the time, then where the ground already sits is perfect! |
| Forum Reply | Who ever mentioned matt Gill earlier at 16:47 27 Feb 2021
I noticed it was similar against Hull and thought it was a bit unusual. I assumed Gill was just doing what Taylor would normally do though. Lambert was just getting up to give players a pat on the back as they came off, but otherwise I thought he seemed pretty quiet, for him. Not watching today, but sounds like it may be similar? |

I'm sure they'll consider it, especially if they can't come to an agreement to buy the land under PR. That said, my first thought went to them redeveloping areas around the ground, if they can get their hands on that too. Listening to BJ talk about Rhode Island and the new development for Phoenix in AZ, he's a fan of his clubs being a 365 day a year thing, not just a match day thing. There's an argument that the best place for that to happen is in the middle of town, so who knows. |

Also, I'd be happy if they can bring in players like SWP or Didier to help with the promotion push next season! ;)
