Could middle class problems get any worse than this

Yes but not if your regular ‘side’ was a yoghurt that’s now been reclassified as a ‘main’.

Anyway I usually make my own sandwiches

Exactly. This is an article about being ripped off by supermarkets. Nothing else

Anyone been put onto Sertraline for their MH
at 15:37 3 Jan 2024

Yes, about 13 years ago. I got the shakes quite bad off them for a start, to the point where someone asked whether I’d thought about getting checked for Parkinson’s. I will add that the shakes I suffered from may also have been at least partially due to a physical manifestation of the MH issues I had at the time, it’s possible. I do not have Parkinson’s, thankfully.

Also, the sertraline worked wonders when it kicked in - after about a month of taking them. It was literally as if the clouds just melted away. I was on them for 2 years. Be very careful when you come off them, as side effects will likely come back if you don’t wean yourself off from them very slowly.
I would also recommend a CBT course in conjunction with any antidepressants.

Sir Alf Ramsey medical emergency
at 21:25 30 Dec 2023

it was bloody awful, I must say. I saw the initial commotion in the concourse in lower Sir Alf, then the poor person was brought down just to the right of where I sit. I couldn't watch as the stretcher came past. RIP fellow Town fan, and best wishes to their nearest and dearest

Norwich has dozens of excellent pubs. I'm afraid choosing Brewdog for lunch was something of a boo-boo. You've probably realised that now

Hold on. ‘An obsession with cups nobody plays for anymore’ eh?

By that reckoning they’ll have to re-do their honours list then, as they’ve never won anything. Nor have they participated in anything either 🤣

What’s the tune for ‘don’t sing this, don’t sing that, blah, blah, blah’ please? I’ll try and get it going in the south stand on Saturday v Coventry

Another sporting transgender dilemma…
at 15:21 21 Nov 2023

I get that it’s nuanced, and that people look at it from a (un)fairness perspective for trans women and women from birth. I’m of the view that unfortunately life isn’t always fair and boundaries have to be drawn, as much from a safety perspective as anything else, particularly in sports where sheer physical size and strength is a factor. Having played cricket at reasonably competitive levels several years ago, I am of the opinion that the decision today to ban transgender women from international cricket is correct.

A friend of mine, who likes cricket but has not played at any real level, was talking about the Hundred competition a few weeks ago with me when he suggested that the way to make it better would be to make it a mixed game. My response was along the lines of ‘absolutely not, in any way ever’. Women would get killed/maimed playing at that level. Men have inadvertently killed men at elite level in cricket (Phil Hughes a recent example), and I would be extremely fearful of similar happening in mixed teams, and as an extension of this fear, if trans women were allowed to play at elite level. This is, and has to be, a safety first position rather than a fairness first position for me. I don’t buy it that just because it may not have happened with a trans woman in any particular sport (in particular contact sports and other non-contact sports like cricket where being injured by an opponent is still a real risk) that it could not or would not happen. It would only have to happen once and that would open a whole different can of worms.

Then where risk of injury from an opponent is not so much of an issue in sports (athletics, swimming, cycling, basketball etc) it really does come down to fairness. And if a trans woman has a physical advantage, then the fairest position to me is still women from birth only in women’s sports.

I hope a situation can arise where trans women can compete in their preferred sport at a level they enjoy, but I can’t see how that can be at the safety or disadvantage of women from birth, sorry.

Apologies if I may have used any incorrect terminology above, just trying to convey my position

This abnormal load stuff
at 20:06 29 Oct 2023

Only logic I can think is that it was the only possible route it could have taken. it took an odd route to get there too - Cliff Road - Duke Street, Fore Hamlet, Bishop's Hill/ Felixstowe Road - Derby Road - Tomline Road - Foxhall Road - Grove Lane - St.Helen's Street - Crown Street - Norwich Road, and it's parked up on the old Norwich Road for a week. I saw the thing this lunchtime coming through town at a snail's pace, it was f...ing huge. It must be a logistical nightmare moving something like that.

Look Norwich!!!
at 20:57 9 Oct 2023

That was embarrassing, even by their usual budgie-biased standards, a few seconds showing our 2 first goals with a distinctly 'ooh, look at plucky little Ipswich doing well' patronising type vibe, then a 3 minute interview with some Arsenal podcaster who knows a bit about someone Norwich have just employed behind the scenes. I nearly choked on my dinner when Susie Fowler-What-the-F@ck asked him if he'd be able to handle the pressure at Norwich

If we win against Rotherham it will put us on 31 points. Last time we were in the championship that was all we could muster over an entire season
