Town XI Draw at Hampton and Richmond
at 17:10:14

If the club re-joined the Suffolk Premier Cup after a two year hiatus, it could have development games throughout the season and benefit all the clubs in the region who get drawn against them.

Town and Villa in Ticket Talks
at 20:22:43

Talbs77 "Would be interested to know how many we sold when we went to Stamford Bridge?".

I believe it was 3100-3200. It was exactly the same situation, where ITFC trotted out same reasons why they could not risk taking the full allocation of 6,275 from a 41,837 capacity. It was massively oversubscribed, but ITFC could not 'enter into talks' to take more tickets because the game was a sell-out. Once they passed up the tickets, Chelsea sold them to their own fans as you would expect.

Ticket office: "“With our average away attendance being 650 this season, a figure of 2,900 was deemed to be appropriate.”

Well, if you had only 200 tickets left (7%) which sold out within the first 35 minutes of going on general sale, I would say that is was not appropriate. Exactly the same as it was two years ago in the groundhog day of FA Cup tickets. I imagine the person/people who make 'appropriate' decisions still have their job making inappropriate clown ups.

Villa Game Close to Sell-Out
at 19:02:45

The same thing happened for the Chelsea FA Cup game in 2011. Town, due to 'financial reasons' did not take up the full 15% ticket allocation. It was massively oversubscribed. Two years later, and it's the same nonsense.
The difference this time will be that there WILL be spare seats in amongst the Villa seats unlike Stamford Bridge which was practically sold out. So there will be Town fans in with Villa fans.

ITFC seem to have a perverse enjoyment in watching fans scramble for tickets. They will trot out the same reasons they did two years ago - "we couldn't financially risk being stuck with unsold tickets" "it's the run up to Christmas" "the team isn't doing very well". They just don't get what it means to be a fan.

We have been poor for a decade and get a big game every 12-18 months. Of course everybody wants to go. London & Midlands game are always popular because we have large fan bases around the country.

No, all the se fans don't attend all the home games. No they don't attend all the away games. Complaining about plastic fans doesn't address the problem. The problem lies with ITFC/Ticket Office's inability or refusal to understand that fans demand for big games will always be greater than a full ticket allocation. Taking a partial allocation is just another embarrassing, but predictable outcome from a club increasingly divergent from its fans.

From Saturdays of Feeling Sick, Mick Has Been Quick in Making Us Tick
at 19:49:27

Good work. I agree that he simply shuffled the deck he inherited.

Edwards into midfield, meaning we can play 4 defenders. Orr comes in to play RB.
This pushed Murphy into attack, where we needed some height.Barnett adds to the larger man option up front.
Believing in Smith & Hyam.
Backing an under-fire Henderson.

Those little things that seem obvious to fans, but were lost on RK & PJ.

U18s Beat Bristol City in Youth Cup
at 23:16:26

Sowumni & Clarke were imperious at the back. Particularly in the 1st half, with Bristol trying long balls or dinks over the top, only to see these two standing resolute. Apparently Clarke normally plays midfield, so his MOTM performance was even more enduring. It was a nice sight seeing these two big (probably the two tallest outfield players) defenders coming forward for corners.

Lawrence was industrious & tidy on the ball, of which he saw alot of. BCFC seemed to be content to shut him down quickly to stiffle creativity, but he was a very useful conduit between the back four & midfield.

Crowe made a couple of important stops at the beginning of the second half, following these up with a good confidant claiming catch under pressure.

Second half was more about soaking up & accepting pressure, but ITFC always looked good on the counter. Perhaps if Marriott had had more chances, he would not have elected to shoot when a pass to a more open team mate was the better option.

A good cup performance & great value for £3!

Dear ITFC ticket office

Please do not make a sow's ear of our ticket allocation (like you did with Chelsea a couple of years back) and let us take a very decent following to the midlands.

Another Crisis at Ipswich
at 16:36:01

If only ITFC was like the jungle and we could vote people in & out of the team. At least we could have the pleasure of watching Clegg in the bedbugs trial, pressing the red button for more rats to be added to the cage (there are plenty about, jumping off this sinking ship) and completely ignoring his pleas that he is a qualified football CEO who should be let out of here.

Good blog BTW.

Walsham-le-Willows 1-5 Reserves
at 01:18:35

Brockley CC's very own Jack Brame had a positive game for Walsham. Decent free kick, good in the air & deserved his chance to score.

This is how ITFC will rebuild its community links following the bleakness of the administration years. Really good to see a positive strong reserves side out. Walsham benefit with the gate receipts. ITFC get a run out and can be shown in a positive light by entering & playing away from home. Walsham normally get 60, so 745 is a new record for them I believe.

JET had a good runaround. Drury looked physically imposing and saw alot of the ball with Hyam. Loach was doing plenty of chat with Moshni & Ainsley. Hyam's goal was a piledriver.

Ellington was underpar. I witnessed Chopra letting a village crowd getting under his skin.

Really good to see Eminem coming off with the players, smiling away. He just looks pleased he isn't in the midlands anymore. Make Suffolk a fortress.
