O'Neill: Lambert's Exit Cumulation of Things and Not Related to Proposed Takeover
at 16:41:26

Some interesting comments from PL here. Pretty damning about the club. Unfortunately, I doubt we will here anymore, as no doubt PL will need to sign a confidentiality agreement to get the contract paid off. Comments are not much different from other managers that have left Ipswich. :

Town Takeover Close

Can't believe the negative comments. Can it be worse? The club is in freefall in all areas. Sure the consortium could come in and fail... But the club is failing anyway! Where do you think the club will be in 5 years fine under Evans? He has given up. That's very clear to see. I very much doubt we will be as high as we are now!

Sure the consortium is in it for the money. In an established business there's two ways to make money:
1. Buy a business for less than the sum of its assets.
2. Improve the business so someone wants to buy it for more money.

1 seems not to be possible given that there are barely any assets. We haven't even got a star player to cash in!

Thus they need to improve the business.

Takeover Talk

I don't understand why everyone is worried about a faceless consortium. Evans lost interest years ago, the club is in downfall. He is well aware that this is hugely loss making, and he clearly feels he's put in enough. I'm sure if he thought throwing in £10m on new players would get us up the leagues then he would do it, but he doesn't have that confidence.
He's now in loss minimisation mode. The money he puts in is piled onto the debt, on the faint hope that perhaps we will get promoted and someone will pay off the debt. As a businessman it makes no difference how much money he has or hasn't put in - you don't say.. oh I've put in £40m I'm not walking away until I get that back. He says.. how much money am I going to make or lose in the next 5 years, Well if I'm down £40, and I'm going to spend another £7m a year for the next 5 years, I'll cut my losses now.
As for a consortium coming into to make a profit. Theres nothing wrong with that. It happens in most business. Different investment firms come into a company at different stages. The fact that ITFC doesn't own any its ground, or any star players, means an investor can't come in and asset strip because there are no assets to strip . The only way it makes sense as an investment is if they know they can come in and get the club for a low enough price to enable player and manager acquisitions to move the team up.
Sure it can go wrong... but it has already gone wrong... under Evans the club is on a slow bleed to non-league football.

Dyer Departs But Still Aims to Become Blues Boss

Interesting quote
The gaffer's been fine with me, his priority is obviously promotion and trying to get some money out of the owner, so he's got more important things to worry about...

Trio Handed FFP Embargoes
at 04:21:23

This is a joke!!!

Clubs will be prohibited from registering any new professional players (permanent contract or loan) unless they have:

• 24 or fewer established players (players aged 21 or over that have made at least 5 starting appearances for the club).

Where clubs have fewer than 24 established players, they will only be permitted to sign players in the following circumstances (with the player in question being added to the club's list of established players regardless of his age or previous playing experience):

• Where the employee costs of a player being signed are less than £600,000 per annum (or pro-rata if signed on a shorter contract).

Where clubs have 24 established players, they will be permitted to trade on a ‘one out, one in' basis but only if the employee costs of the player coming in to the club are no more than whichever is the lower amount of:

• 75% of the equivalent costs of the player going out.
• Or a maximum of £600,000 per annum (or pro-rata if signed on shorter contract)

In addition:

• Clubs under an FFP embargo will be permitted to sign a goalkeeper on an emergency basis (in line with existing regulations).
• Clubs under an FFP embargo will not be permitted to pay transfer fees or compensation fees for professional players.
• Clubs under an FFP embargo will not be permitted to pay a loan fee to another club, they may only pay the player's wage (or a contribution towards it).
• For incoming players, clubs can only pay Agents' Fees as a benefit in kind to the player in question (as long as they do not exceed the £600,000 employee costs limit).

Fans Around the World Meeting Up to Watch Derby
at 15:51:16

Apparently they are showing the game in the White Stag on Lockhart. It's become the local spot for the budgies supporters club though. I reckon it'll be hard to find anywhere else given that Villa vs Newcastle is at the same time.
