| Forum Reply | We have made a loan offer for Keiffer Moore apparently.... at 18:10 17 Jan 2024
I don't see why people are so negative on this one. Sure he's not the same player as Hirst but I don't see many better alternatives in the market we're shopping in. He's a proven goalscorer at this level and he's hardly just a big target man. I think people underestimate MvKenna's ability as a coach. I'm sure we can adapt our style somewhat to work to his strengths. The idea that we need to be Stole under Pulis for this to work is nonsense. |

Have a look at their next run of fixtures. Let's see if they are in touching distance of the play offs after those before taking them seriously. A very average side. |

I don't know if it's just me but I really can't get on with Saturday games that aren't at 3pm. I know it's a sign of our success that we're on TV more but I don't like it. |

How's he getting on? Haven't caught many of his games lately. Is he going to oust Woolfy or Burgess as a regular starter? |

Bumped into James Collins in a pub in the city today. Nice bloke. I said he was an Ipswich legend and he said he didn't get called that often. Joking aside, what was that game where he was absolutely epic. I think we won 1-0 in the season we got relegated. Think he got injured after that and retired shortly after. Shame as could have become a bit of a cult legend for us if he stayed fit. [Post edited 14 Nov 2023 20:56]

| Forum Reply | But seriously, isn't that the problem with playoffs.... at 07:05 13 May 2023
How about a system where every 4 or 5 points gains a goal advantage. If Wednesday finished 12 points ahead of 6th place they would start the first leg of the playoffs with a 3 goal lead. For example if teams 4 and 5 in the league finish within 3 points of each other, the tie starts 0-0 as normal. That would be fair and it wouldn't totally wipe out 6th places chances of getting to Wembley, as seen by yesterday's result. This would also encourage all teams in the top 6 to fight for every point until the last game of the season. Or you could have a system where a draw over two legs would mean the team in the higher league position prevails. Or even requiring the lower team to win both legs of the playoffs. Peterborough would need to win the first game to get an opportunity of a second tie at Hillsborough in a second one off game. Plenty ways of making it fairer whilst maintaining the entertainment and ensuring the sense of jeopardy remains throughout the season [Post edited 13 May 2023 7:09]

Not ideal that Edmundson is out. TJJ coming back would have been more of a bonus that anything. Can Harry Clarke play CB? We still have Keogh and Donacien as back ups but ideally Woolf and Burgess stay fit as they’ve developed a good partnership. |

There seem to be rail replacement buses every weekend from London to Ipswich for the foreseeable (I've checked every weekend until mid April). Does anyone know how long this is lasting? The information on the Greater Anglia website is not very easy to understand. |
| Forum Reply | Joey Barton going in on McKenna at 12:02 17 Feb 2023
The comments from Mckenna, whilst maybe flippant, are slightly concerning. It almost implies an attitude within the building that all other clubs should go toe to toe with us, playing free flowing football, and if they don't it's some sort of injustice. Reminds me of Wenger in his twilight years at Arsenal, complaining after getting kicked off the park at the Britannia stadium on a cold Tuesday night. We're in League one, we need to accept that some (maybe most) teams aren't going to open up against us. We need to find ways of dealing with it. [Post edited 17 Feb 2023 12:03]

| Forum Reply | Five away matches in a row all feeling very similar at 06:31 5 Feb 2023
SB I like your optimism but in reality we're going to have to settle for playoffs. Can see us finishing 4th or 5th probably 10 points off autos in the end. It may be six points SB but it feels like we've blown our chance haven't we. We should be top of the table now. The Oxford and Cambridge results, plus the countless recent away draws (too many) failing to hold on against Plymouth, Charlton, Fleetwood. It feels like we've left at least 10 points out there. I mean look at Oxford and Cambridge's recent form, everyone are rolling them over, then there's us. This is the period we needed to cash in. Our last 10 games are probably the toughest of the contenders. We need to win 6 out of the next 7 really to go into the last 10 in touching distance and I just don't see it. Agreed. For me, I'm in my mid thirties, the premier league hasn't held that much appeal. I'm just about old enough to properly enjoy the season we finished 5th. It's just great to have a side playing good football under a great young manager and maintaining the connection with the club and the players with the community. Does it really matter it's in League one. Maybe the Championship is the sweet spot. |
| Forum Thread | Eric Cantona on BBC at 08:48 13 Jan 2023
Not sure if anyone heard his interview with the BBC this morning but he said that if he was in England he would support a club in the second or third division. He spoke about the premier league and elite level football in general losing its soul. Got me thinking, are the next few years going to be as good as it gets for us in terms of enjoyment. We've got almost 30k people coming tomorrow to see a top of the table clash and it's going to be great, win lose or draw. The aim is to get to the premier league and whilst that's the aim, maybe the journey will be better than the destination. Do we really want to get to the premier league and then get beaten most weeks struggling to survive. Would football be any more enjoyable if we supported Southampton or Crystal Palace? Sorry maybe a bit philosophical for before 9am but enjoy the ride folks as we have our football club back. |
| Forum Reply | Would Everton let Broadhead drop down a level to progress his career? at 13:26 5 Jan 2023
This deal to me seems like one that should be very doable. As you say, Everton clearly don't have any further use for him so a permanent move and some cash for them is much better than him remaining on loan at Wigan. Doesn't seem like he has many suitors who would be willing to pay a fee for him so surely a top end League One club is his best bet. I wouldn't be against this one, versatile and did well at Sunderland. Maybe we'd still look at a more out and out number 9 if we were to sign him as well. Edit: His contract runs until summer 2024 so maybe they'd be willing to see if he has more value in the summer. That said, given their position in the league they could do with as much cash as possible at the moment. [Post edited 5 Jan 2023 13:29]

GK and defence is absolutely fine. Morsy is absolutely critical, we can't afford to lose him whilst Evans is injured. I suspect he'll play on Sunday but if I was KM I wouldn't risk him. The AM options are looking very light as well. If we can get through to January without any more injuries, we should be fine but lose one of those and we'd be really down to the bones. Is Zanda Siziba a attacking player? I haven't seen him play. We may need some of the younger lads to make up the bench and to play in the cup. [Post edited 25 Nov 2022 11:40]
