I've read some utter tosh on here for the past few days (weeks/months/years), and have simply scrolled on past. But this comment I cannot let lie. It just galls me to hear such nonsense about a beloved icon of our times. We always owned Austin Rovers in the 70's, and they were amazing beautifully crafted cars. Don't listen to this old fool younger readers. He has no clue what he's talking about. |

So interesting to read of the same experiences I've had, As you slowly correct 30 odd years of poor posture and incorrect movement patterns by strengthening key muscles, I've invariably hurt another. opposing or connected muscle. But i've found by being aware of how the new injury occurred, you can actually use that pain to improve your movement patterns further. I'm 8 years into this now at 54 years of age, and i'll never stop learning because each step continues to make me move better and reduce the chronic pain further. I started yoga a year ago so can also concur that's a great tool. Although a personal yoga coach who understands incorrect movement patterns and how to correct them has been invaluable. Good luck to the op with the journey. Best to know early on there's no quick fixes. But there's so much more information around nowadays than when I started, it's easier to progress faster. I made MANY mistakes along the way. |

Whole heartedly agree with both of these comments. Business is business, and you need to be able to operate calmly and cleverly to get the best results all round. For yourself, but maybe for the team too. I have no doubts Ashton and Mckenna were fully aligned and transparent with each other throughout this whole process. Good men, and we are lucky to have them. |

Right ok, this I want to know about............ How the hell do I not know about raves in Hong Kong!? Is it some kind of sub culture that old established residents like me don't get to hear about........ please tell me more In answer to the question.......... Sarmiento's 3rd vs Southampton. Not that weird, but I was watching on my laptop in Wetherspoons Heathrow just before I had to run to board the flight back home...... One of my happiest flights ever |

Apparently the Singapore Blues are meeting up for the match. so surely we can do the same. Does anybody know if the match is being shown here in a HK bar, and if there's a gathering anywhere? |

I sent 4 Baggott shirts to the football fans at my office in Jakarta, and they absolutely loved them. They couldn't believe they have real authentic Baggot shirts now :) So sweet to spread the ITFC love across the globe. And they really DO love him there. He's building himself into quite a cult figure, and he hasn't even broken into our first team yet! |
 | Forum Reply | Anyone else notice that Chappers has got a Sketchers boot deal? at 02:40 28 Sep 2023
That made me smile. I've worked with Skechers on transportation for more than 15 years, and the "no T in Skechers" comes up so often. For one, I'm happy Chappers has his deal with Skechers. I know most of the guys in Manhattan Beach very well, and they are a genuine lovely bunch of owners and management with a real family feel and attitude. Would much rather be associated with this brand, than other footwear behemoths. Enjoy the Christmas bash! |

My guess would be, and this is a pure stab in the dark, that KMcK has seen more of Williams than you have. And maybe I'd be willing to trust his judgement on that rather than your single viewing. Just a though perhaps.................... |

Ah sorry Lucan, missed that............ Totally agree about the taking care of elders aspect. Again this comes into keeping the family nucleus together. Hong Kong is still very normal with regards to payment methods. China however is a different matter. I fly to Shanghai on Sunday for the first time in more than 3 years, and I'm massively concerned about this actually. I'll have good old fashioned cash ready, but even that could be refused by the taxi driver. It's quite ridiculous. I have my Wechat pay set up just in case. That really is a fascinating app developed to track every single person in China in every aspect of their lives. |

I'm going to turn this around slightly. Having lived in Hong Kong for more than 30 years after leaving the sunny climes of Ipswich at 21, I was definitely of the generation where we were expected to leave the family home as soon as possible. The running comments always seemed to be something like "can't wait til the kids are grown up and leave". The culture in Asia is totally different. Children are not expected to leave home until they are married. And even then, it's perfectly acceptable to continue to live with the parents. My neighbor has 3 generations living there, with 3 young grandkids. It sounds manic, but they always look happy. Yes there is a financial angle to this. But it's more of a cultural angle, which quite frankly I prefer. Having 2 of my 3 boys living back in the UK now, we would have them back into the family home in a heartbeat, no matter how old they are (currently 28 + 21). And when I do finally make the move back to the UK, they are welcome to live with us for as long as they want. In fact, we encourage it. We want to keep the family nucleus together (and yes I realise that doesn't add up with the fact that we live in different countries and I do have a choice to move back). Same in the Philippines where my wife is from. And basically the same across Asia. I never used to think this way. I thought the same as my parents that the kids need to get out and be independent as fast as possible. But being surrounded by these different cultures that seem to have a stronger focus on the family togetherness has completely 360'd my view. And bear in mind we live in rabbit hutches. My 3 bed apartment (lucky to have 3 beds here) is less than 700sqft. And I would dearly love that space to be filled with the boys and their partners, no matter how cramped that would be. Cultural differences eh! |

Just wanted to thank you for all of your comments. Plenty of good information and advice for me to mull over. It's going to be a busy summer getting around all those places in 3 weeks! |

Please be Norwich at home. Please be Norwich at home. Please be Norwich at home....... I'll repeat that ad nauseam in my prayers until 22nd June.......... My flight back to HK is on 7th August............ To be fair, anything at home would be amazing so I can actually use my own season ticket for the first time ever! |

All 1500/1945 kick off replays have only been available from 2am UKT. I know this as I always watch the replays without looking at the score the next day, and have to wait until 2am. Not sure how that will work for a midday kick off. And as the previous poster explained, the website is really badly designed if you want to stay away from the score. I cover the screen and just look in the bottom right hand corner until the replay is playing and I have full screen up. |

Ladies and Gents, I am planning my return to the beautiful county of Suffolk after more than 30 years in the east. But things have changed too much in this time for me to have any real perspective on places to live. So who better to ask, than the lads and lasses of TWTD spread over the county who can help guide me with some ideas. Here's what I'm looking for: Location: Suffolk. I really do not have a preference where in this fine land it should be. But I would like to remain in the county. Village life, with at least one local pub. Community feel, friendly people (goes without saying everyone is friendly I'm sure) That's about it really. During my summer visit I will look around the area and try to zero in on a few options. So hopefully with the guidance of local knowledge on this forum, I can start to put a plan together. Thank you all. |
