On the inability of the club to manage to sign a CB, in the time frame of 3 weeks.
What was it...'You don't see many 18, 19 yr old playing at CB in the Championship.'
And the assurance of Spence and Knudsen still in central defence, after the Fulham showing, well it says it all.
You'd really think we'd learn. More so from the Murphy example.
Yes, now we can score goals. What we don't presently have are players who can ably defend. |

I can see it getting to the end of transfer deadline day and that we've still not signed a central defender and the good old reasoning of '...well the loan window's still open' being used.

Interesting how, and I think I've got this right, 8 of Everton's starting XI are English. The trust, belief, faith Koeman is showing in English talent is very positive.
For me, Keane with Maguire of Leicester I can see playing together for England in central defence. |

I hope, in mind of the weakness of our spine, that both Ward and Skuse'll sit and protect. Ward playing the appropriate forward ball when he can. I'd almost rather that than be wide open, and frankly get a draw. |

...as a parallel of our injury situation.
Of their right back situation;
They sell Kyle Walker, their back up for Walker, Kieran Trippier, then gets injured and Pochettino says of youngster Walker-Peters that he's not quite ready to make the step up, and who plays today at St.James Park, away to Newcastle United, Walker-Peters.
Sometimes you have to go with what you've got.
(I know Spurs are a very different equation to us as a team, but injuries are injuries) |
