Delap relegation release clause

Am I right in thinking this clause is in his own contract instead of part of the actual transfer? Just wondering whether we could have another clause in there which Delap himself could sign some form of waiver to remove it? Clutching at straws I know.

Do we think we should / will be back in for him in the summer if we get 30 mill for Delap? Might even take the full 30 mill to get him though considering he went for the same price (15 with +5 add ons)

Just seen a clip of him talking on the under the cosh podcast when he was Ireland captain and agreed with Ruud Gullit to draw the game with a few minutes to go. They even ended up hoofing the ball constantly up the pitch.

Good to see him having a decent season currently on loan at Stockport in League One with 14 goals.

Villa reportedly looking to send him to a higher level. Got me wondering if he’d be worth another look at potentially as a backup striker in Jan?

The only player that doesn’t really fit this system is Chaplin though. But then at least that gives us an option to change the dimension again if we bring him on and go back to playing the 10?
