Tyreece Simpson is tweeting…

Started well in the national league. Chesterfield top after 3 games and comfortably beating Wrexham who are favourites for the title. Think I saw he had 1 goal and 2 assists so far. May watch on BT Sport tomorrow as Notts County v Chesterfield is on the schedule.

We have no idea what happened behind the scenes though. Clements and Dobra would both have been training with the first team. I did hear that Cook was relatively critical of the ownership not allowing youngsters to be pushed through or played, and I imagine this is also linked to Atay and Dyer moving on from the academy roles.

I also heard from somewhere that Dobra actually had more starts under Cook than under Lambert, despite being under him for a much shorter time!

Imagine it's probably a loan. Presumably he will be a guaranteed starter, so this is probably his best and final opportunity to show what he can do.

I thought it's pretty funny. Tweet before had a Question of Sport-esqe reveal with him walking around Tesco and being filmed from behind.

Watched the game. He played pretty well despite 2 yellows. Gordon too quick for Albania and he caught him late for the 2nd.

El Miz and Dobra

That's true, but it would be a shame to see two players leave and possibly fulfill their potential when we couldn't see it. There's been a problem the past couple years with consistency. Our squad has been torn up twice at this point and we haven't got any better for it in my opinion. It's like people want another reset of players at the club to bring in more who "have" potential when they may not be any better than those we already have.

El Miz and Dobra

Should we really be letting go of young players who have shown potential at this level? Dobra now apparently training with the national team for Albania (who were not far off qualifying for the Euros) and El Miz with a previous appearance for Tunisia.

Yes, they haven't had many chances in the team because of our situation (and also Colchester's situation last season) and needing results quickly, but I fail to see what we gain by letting them leave when they could be assets and get some solid experience in the cup competitions or off the bench. I just refuse to believe that there aren't players in them.

It's like Will Keane or even Drinan leaving (or several others to be honest) and suddenly turning into decent players.

Although it is still a massive amount, those figures are all incorrect given that 60% of that money(!) will go to tax. From 41.6m euros, his take home is 16.6m.

Leads back to Paul Cook as he is the one who decided to offload players at a whim and then bloat the squad up again with more underperformers. We had no need to get Barry and Edwards.

Hasn't been given a proper run of games under any managers.

Loans. Other club youngsters.

League 1 and 2 are above U18s football so not really interested.

We already have a bunch of our youngsters out on loan and our squad is already big.

Cook should never have broken up the squad, claimed that it's bloated, then signed nearly the exact same amount of players. Same issues as before. Football is a team game and there's no thing such as a team when there's no cohesion between the players because they have barely kicked a ball together.

If we go by the League 1 statistics he's pretty far ahead.

It's not proof of anything but the suggestion that League 1 and League 2 are worlds apart is not correct. There's a much bigger gap between the Championship and League 1 than between League 1 and 2.

League 2 really isn't as far off of League 1 in terms of quality of teams as people think it is though. We only scraped a draw against Colchester while playing a fairly strong team in the Pizza cup.

Surprised they won. Exeter were on a 20-game unbeaten run.

Cook came in and talked about how large the squad was, then proceeded to "reset" the squad and coming out the other side with one nearly exactly the same size as it was before. Same old issues again. You can't create a cohesive team when so many players will be left unhappy by sitting on the bench/out of the squad.

I checked the stats and he's got 2 goals and 1 assist in effectively 5 games of football (450 minutes) in a struggling Colchester team. He also scored for the Albania U21s in his last match and have seen he's off to play again. There were also League 1 teams who wanted him on loan at the start of the season.

We just came out of a 1-1 draw at home against a team who may well be relegated to National League this season. Not sure how people are jumping the gun so quickly on him "never playing for the club again".
