Delaney: Keane Would Destroy Me After Games But Still Picked Me
at 17:37:24

Roy Keane may well come across as a thoroughly unpleasant character.

Yet as a player with Manchester United he was a winner and before coming here he achieved promotion with Sunderland. He failed with us and all managers after him have failed.

What is it with ME’s leadership that so many apparently promising managers have failed under him?

Defender Earl's Loan Ended
at 15:02:47

Back in January it probably made sense to have a look at him, but given the need to cut expenditure this was inevitable. It is a matter of time before the other loanees go as well.

EFL Still Aiming to Play Remaining Fixtures
at 09:32:29

Daleyitfc, whilst I agree that the plan sounds simple and attractive it would mean the clubs losing out on almost all of next year’s tv money. I doubt if many could do that which would cause multiple failures.
So far as contracts are concerned, I can’t see us offering deals to any of the loanees and few, if any, of the out of contract players. I can’t see any players being brought in either. For the rest there is no need to extend their contracts as they will run to next summer, at least, anyway.

Leagues One and Two May Not Be Completed
at 11:58:52

Remember, that any clubs which lose out from the season ending are all too likely to sue. That is why they’ve come come up with the idea of yes to promotion and no to relegation.

I think that it’s inevitable that Ipswich, and most other clubs, will have to cut costs. In practice that is likely to mean few, if any, players having their contracts renewed. Fortunately, we have a productive youth set up!

Garbutt: Everything is Complicated
at 13:06:27

Apparently at Everton he is on a salary of nearly £1.5 million.

I can’t see us paying anything like that for a left-back, so he either takes a pay cut or we look for an alternative.

Hopefully our scouts were busy before the break!

Town Players Have Not Turned Down Wage Deferral
at 15:21:20

AndyUK, I think that you should read my post again. At no point did I suggest that Mr Evans has his money (estimated at £700 million) in cash. What I said was that he is far richer than all the players put together. Would you really make an interest-free, unsecured loan to a heavily indebted loss making subsidiary that existed only on the goodwill of the patron? I certainly would not.

Town Players Have Not Turned Down Wage Deferral
at 10:51:36

To look at this from the point of view of a player, Mr Evans is an extremely rich man, far richer than the lot of them put together. Ipswich Town is a subsidiary of his business empire. Therefore, the players are being asked to make an interest-free unsecured loan to an unsuccessful subsidiary of an extremely rich man. Had he wanted a force majeur clause in their contracts he could have inserted one, but didn’t. The better players could turn round to him and say that if their salaries are a problem then give us free transfers knowing that he wouldn’t as he wants to be able to collect on their transfer fees.

McCarthy: I Should Have Left Town Earlier
at 11:44:52

Initially he did an excellent job, saving us from relegation and nearly getting us promoted.

However, I shall never forget the Lincoln debacle. He should have gone gracefully at the end of that season.

Former Boss McCarthy Leaves Ireland Job
at 11:59:49

I shall just write two things, both which Inhave done before
1) look at the records of Keane, Jewell, McCarthy, Hurst and Lambert when they were appointed (as opposed to now). In all cases, you can see a good argument for appointing them, but all failed. That suggests something rather deeper than the manager.
2) McCarthy did a good job initially. He saved us from relegation and got us into the play offs. However, the style of play was dreadful and the less said about the Lincoln debacle the better.

Town Close to Furloughing Staff
at 19:06:13

ITFCsince1973, I would be grateful if you would explain why it is that you think that players are self-employed. Just because their contract of employment is time limited does not make them self-employed. All employees have contracts of employment and the employer is bound to give them a statement of its main terms within 90 days of the employment commencing. The principal difference between someone who is employed or self-employed is the level of control which the employer has over the worker’s activities. If they were genuinely self-employed then normally they would be able to carry out their duties as they see fit, work for other employers and send substitutes to do their work for them. I would refer you to the Judgment in the Pimlico Plumbers case.

O'Neill: Resume the Season When It's Safe to Do So
at 16:19:18

Of course, that begs the question of when it will be safe to resume.

For example, if the season goes on past 30 June, what happens to player contracts and the transfer window? What happens about player fitness?

Palace and Leeds Eyeing Woolfenden
at 17:19:11

If we manage to win promotion this season then we have a chance of keeping the squad together. If we don’t, the better players will leave, our squad will be cherry-picked by clubs in leagues above us. Assuming that we fail to be promoted, I would expect Downes, Dozzell and Woolfenden to leave, Chambers and Skuse to stay.

Confirmation of Behind Closed Doors Games Expected Today

I don’t follow the logic of this.

We are told that the virus is a bully; it targets those over 70 and with pre-existing medical problems. The rest (I am 55) should be reasonably safe, especially as the virus isn’t keen on the open air. Therefore, I would have thought that the answer would be to give very firm advice to those in the high risk groups not to attend (and give them refunds on their season tickets) whilst the rest go as usual. If everyone congregates in pubs to watch the matches that would be worse than the low risk groups attending.

Judge Out for the Rest of the Season
at 21:18:54

My fear is that over the summer any player for which we receive a half decent offer will be sold. If a club comes in for Judge he will go. We will be left with the kids and the senior players that no-one else wants.

Ipswich Town 0-1 Fleetwood Town - Match Report
at 08:46:56

Please remember that we started the season looking like the League 1 version of Liverpool. Now we are playing like relegation fodder. ME isn’t responsible for that and the only significant injury is that of KVY (and possibly Norwood). Therefore, the fault would seem to lie with the manager.

Keane: We Understand Why Fans Are Angry
at 17:50:25

I’m sure that Will is talented hard-working and honest, but he just doesn’t score enough goals for a centre-forward. Assuming that we fail to beat both Fleetwood and Coventry, I would like to see young Simpson being given a run in the morning team.
