Rome recommendations....
at 06:59 9 Apr 2022

With young children, or if you like cats, I'd definitely recommend the cat sanctuary set within the ruins of the Argentina Forum - including the senate steps where Julius Caesar was murdered. Spotting the cats is great fun for the kids and you can still soak up some history if that's your thing.

If you feel up to the steep uphill walk, the Palatine Hill is worth a visit for the views.

Song for Woolfenden

Or keeping it really simple.

Ah-hoo, Wolfy of Ipswich.

Easy to belt out quickly when he wins the ball back etc.
Easy for someone to start off with a loud Ah-hoo for everyone else to join in with the Wolfy of Ipswich.

Walton save

Not sure if it's already been posted somewhere but there's some good footage of the match from Wycombe's Twitter and a great angle of Walton's save at around 2:55.

2 players have now done fingers in ears
at 13:02 29 Sep 2020

I think part of the problem is that, without fans in the ground, players are not getting the normal upside of fan adoration, chanting etc when they perform well. Generally in life, the people commenting on social media are the moaners and complainers. At the moments then, they are probably hearing more complaints that appreciation.

Great idea. It would be good to have the whole squad from 80/81, all sitting together.

Not suggesting that Falmouth isn't worth a visit, but also happens to be less than 40 miles from Marcus' estate in Cornwall.

Probably just friends.

Company Accounts Overdue
at 16:54 15 Jul 2020

The accounts should have originally been filed by the end of March, the time extension for filing was introduced on 25th March. Unless there were already issues meaning the accounts would have been late, they should have been pretty much finalised 6 days before the deadline.
The delayed filing would require some adjustments to recognise the effect of Covid and shut-down, so yes there would be some additional work involved - but they have already had three months and are now saying that a further three are required, resulting in fines and red flags.
The fines may not be substantial for a first "offence" but add up across all the companies, you would think enough to warrant bringing someone back from furlough if that's the issue.

Company Accounts Overdue
at 15:06 15 Jul 2020

Not sure the Club are being completely open about this Phil. Looks like the accounts should have been filed by 30th March, the Covid extension allowed a delay until 30th June. As far as I'm aware (sorry another accountant confessing), there's no automatic further extension of time and this is why the accounts are now showing as overdue on Companies House.
I did start to look at other clubs records to see if we were the only ones, couldn't find any that were also late - but gave up quite quickly.
I did find the funniest Business Review in Peterborough United's accounts for year ended 30.06.19 (filed in Dec 19 by the way) for anyone interested in that sort of thing:

Roll call for North Stand lower please
at 19:32 22 Feb 2020

Thank you .

Can you please explain the mass booing and aggression to the players. Someone actually threw something towards Garbutt (?).

I understand the frustrations with the manager but we're expecting those players to go back out next week, be brave for the ball and do their best. How in any world will booing and attacking them help any chance we may have for the remainder of the season?

Songs for players
at 11:41 9 Dec 2019

I thought the atmosphere was good on Saturday, flattened off a bit in the second half - maybe I was just in a noisy spot as others have complained. I also think the lack of the drum allows for more free-form chanting. Just frustrating that there were soooo many songs about Coventry's ground situation, which is fine in moderation for a bit of banter. Just don't understand why the same effort can't be put to chants that actually support our players, especially Downes and Wolfenden who are doing so well.

Songs for players
at 08:02 9 Dec 2019

I don't understand why we don't sing songs for any of our players at the moment. Someone did try and start off a rendition of "We all dream of a team of Tommy Smiths" on Saturday. We've got a squad full of home grown players but we don't even churn out the standard "Xy X he's one of our own".
With reported interest in Downes and Wolfenden surely we should try to make sure they know how much they are appreciated by the fans.
So, my two suggestions - based on old classic songs that I know have been suggested before and dismissed because the vocal youth support won't know them, but they are very simple and fit so well (I think).

Come on you Blues
Sing out his name
YOU AIN'T SEEN NOTHING LIKE OUR MIGHTY FLYNN

and

Ah-hoo
Wolfy of Ipswich

Couldn't be easier, surely?
