Back in training after his injury

Obviously won't be first choice but if Leif is struggling and needs rest he probably offers a more attacking and balanced option for us.

Read somewhere that it was the first one day international team that everyone was over 30

Liam Livingstone stopped that being over 31

I'm part Dutch (support the Dutch at sports), and got some banter yesterday about our abject performance, feel a little better today!

Best of luck

Many of us here will watch tribute acts, then we have acts with only part of the remaining members to watch, we might moan "it's not the same" but we still go!

He is a little bit funnier than James Corden.

Mind you first day back teaching next week is funnier than both

Sunderland Roll Call…
at 16:56 4 Aug 2023

Ah The Albion as it was in the past

Seems to have improved a bit over the years, to be honest The Cumberland (across the road) and The Roadhouse are the only ones that are really bad, I used to frequent The Cumberland years ago, was ok then but went down the pan, not been in for ages

The Road house is down London Road, the pubs opposite St Nicholas Arms and Cranemakers are ok .

best wishes!!

Sunderland Roll Call…

Depends on how rough you want it!

Lloyds Bar is the better of the two "Wetherspoons" , The Griffin on the corner by the Train Stations not too bad, some rough ones , used to love the Caledonian and has been done out but now has an interesting clientele (Beattie's Dad used to run horse racing trips from there! - funnily enough I'm paying darts in the Magpie on Monday, where Beattie spent a fair few hours in)

The Apple Tree is normally a bit quieter and away from Botchergate, Howard Arms, The Boardroom and Kings Head are again off the main drag and more "middle age people" !!

Send me a message on here if you fancy a beer on Saturday night

Sunderland Roll Call…

Hi

I will be on the 12.54 train from Carlisle - not wearing colours however as may be going for a beer with a couple of Sunderland fans!

I live in West Cumbria but Mum lives in Carlisle to easy enough for me - last train could be busy as usually 2 car trains

Maybe we could have a "Sticky topic" on car sharing, offers and wants, on the basis it doesn't get filled with too much rubbish

What are academies? School, not football ones.
at 22:22 15 Jun 2023

Hi, I have worked for a couple of Academy trusts which allow schools and staff some leeway to get on with the job and treat kids with respect - Work for one at the moment "up North" and they are decent employers.

There are others that treat staff rather shoddily, employ young staff on the cheap as they will say "Yes sir, no sir, three sets of books marked tonight sir" - they do their 2 years probation and move on.

As it is a "Good" school , the governing body should be able to choose which trust to join - a local collection of schools with their own identity can work.

Whats Ipswich scouting like abroad ?

I can see why we bought Balkenstein, he wasn't the worst player we have ever had, and his old man was good enough to play for the national team.

I reckon if Derby don't go up, a few Championship clubs will be in for him, wonder if Warne would want Ladapo...

Any Cumbrian based Town fans on here?
at 11:15 24 Mar 2023

Grew up in Carlisle but after spending 26 years in the Murky Midlands, I am moving to West Cumbria next week.... I did see a while back a poster saying a few of them were going to some games from West Cumbria ,.... be great to see if I could get to the odd game or two even from the outpost of Whitehaven!!!
