McCarthy: Chopra One of the Best Players Here
at 07:38:58

Chopra supposedly spent the summer sweating the puppy fat off in the US yet looks bigger now than last season! Scotland dropped the weight after that first season and looked a different player - sharp, fit, alert, etc. Chops needs to do the same.

Versatile players like Carlos are important to any squad when injuries and suspensions come knocking. Pleased he's here for at least another year.

Edwards Agrees New Deal
at 10:39:33

The type of player you're talking about is not usually bought - he comes through a club's youth system. Trouble is since the Evans regime we've tried to buy success rather than let it grow. Supple (fell out of love with the game due to dressing room shenanigans), Rhodes (ridiculous obsurd sale which we will regret for a decade), Wickham (sold too early too young), Trotter (has captained Millwall), Garvan (what went wrong?) we're all potential candidates for that 'icon' role and no worse than what we've since bought. Murray or Smith (a future long-term club captain IMO) could yet be the player you seak but with the new academy tier system and the PL getting every richer the best young players will always be lured by the pot of gold. Sad times...

I'm sure he was also quoted as saying he'd only consider Ipswich long-term if we were top 6. We're not and we're a long way from it. Fair play I say. Can you blame him?

Smith: Squad Gave Chops Stick
at 10:29:01

One CB signing this summer with experience but of the right age (27 or 28) to partner Smith long-term would be a vital cog in the ITFC machine going forward IMO. Of course Tommy needs a 3 year deal signed and delivered as well!

Lee-Barrett Pleased to Be Playing After Up and Down Season

I think the merry-go-round of goalkeepers at Portman Road over the last couple of years has been one of the major contributing factors to our woeful league positions.

Boro to Cover Travelling Fans' Shortfall
at 12:00:14

The point is many fans won't want to turn out for the rearranged Boro fixture, with anger regards the way the 11:15am/2pm/3:38pm pitch inspections were handled. If there was any doubt AT ALL of the game not being completed it should NEVER have started. I'm of the opinion it could have been finished anyway. There was 1 slip in 38 minutes (JET off the pitch right at the start) and Sonko injury was a freak incident not related to pitch. He didn't fall over and could have done that on a hard pitch in the summer. The 50% off is an insult.

Boro to Cover Travelling Fans' Shortfall

Will quote myself from last night!

"Forget the rearranged game at 50% off as it will be a night game - as useful as a chocolate tea pot to many fans. Town should offer minimum 50% refund for any fan (home or away) who bought a ticket since not even 45 minutes were completed. Boro should put on free coaches for any fan stupid enough to buy a ticket for the rearranged fixture."

Clegg: Town Guided By League Regulations
at 21:49:16

Today is a MAJOR setback for future attendences at PR. If you have a season ticket you're relatively sorted for the Boro re-match (apart from being out of pocket for travel expenses today). However the casual fan, that guy who decided to go today on the back of the ticket price promotion, that guy that as a priority we MUST get back to Portman Road, is being told he won't get a refund for 38 minutes of football. To add insult to unjury he can come to the re-arranged fixture at 50% off!? What is the club thinking...

Jewell: Unique Set of Circumstances at Pompey
at 00:37:59

If the players were being pushed out by administrators but wanted to stay, I wonder if Appleton/Chief Executive told the players to ask for excessive terms that Ipswich would never agree to as a way to get the deals off. Regardless, we don't want or need fools that don't want to play for ITFC or get paid!
