| News Comment | Chelsea Legends Lampard and Terry Linked at 19:41:29
How attractive is the Town manager's job? A mid table mediocre third tier club that has an alarmingly high turnover of managers. I struggle to see us attracting any of the bigger names supposedly in the running. |
| News Comment | Former Celtic Boss Lennon Linked at 19:21:29
Anthony Barry would be an outstanding candidate. He is thought of extremely highly within the game and has had considerable influence alongside Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea. Since taking up his role with the Republic of Ireland nine months ago he has made a huge impact - defeated only once in their last 9 games. The Republic have scored 20 times since Barry's arrival having previously been goalless in 11 hours of football. Whether he could be persuaded to make the move to Town is questionable. He has allegedly had approaches for managerial jobs from Cardiff, Aberdeen and Tranmere. He is quoted as saying that his best way of developing as a coach is to continue to work with Tuchel, and who could argue with that? |
| News Comment | Manager Cook Sacked at 21:54:09
How about trying to entice Wayne Rooney from Derby? He's done a highly impressive job there given the constraints he's worked under and, arguably, Town have far more going for them going forwards. |
| News Comment | Cook: A Really Nice Small Step at 18:30:26
The only case I can see for keeping Chambers is that he provides accommodation for several of the youth players. Would probably cause a bit of disruption to them, and a headache for the club to sort out alternative digs. I believe it would be worth it though. |
| News Comment | Keeper-Coach Walker Leaves Town at 10:50:36
It will be interesting to see how many ITFC personnel, from owner down, that were in place on day 1 this season will still be at the club for the start of the 21/22 campaign. I wouldn't mind betting that the turnover will have been unprecedented, as it needs to be. |
| News Comment | Supple Thought Ireland Call Was a Wind-Up at 10:48:20
Great to see someone playing purely for the love of the game and not chasing the money. The Ireland call up confirms what a talent he is. He might not be as financially rich as some of his former peers, but I'm sure he's a more rounded and fulfilled person. |
| News Comment | Sunderland Emerge as Rivals for Ross at 18:59:26
Don't want to belittle Ross' credentials, but I reckon that Needham Market would give most Scottish Championship teams a tough game. |
| News Comment | Ross Set for Further Town Talks Today at 13:44:58
Hope that Paul Tisdale is in the frame. He's just taken Exeter into the league 2 play off final for the second year running. Unlike Hurst and Ross he is proven over a long period of time, great football style and only spent a transfer fee once in about 12 years at a club owned by it's supporters trust. |
| News Comment | Jewell: Plenty More to Come from Jay at 20:48:45
Don't write off the possibility of Jimmy B coming yet. The new season draws nearer and he's still not found a club, and it's difficult to see him pulling on a Hull City shirt again given his recent contretemps. Let's wait and see. |
| News Comment | Wigan, Wolves and West Brom Linked With Leadbitter at 17:35:22
Agree that the central midfield should only contain either Leadbitter or Norris. If it's a case of £2m for the former or £250k for the latter, I'd move Leadbitter on and invest a chunk of the proceeds (if made available) in a creative central midfielder to pair up with Norris. As for people being offended at Pompey's bid for Norris, I for one would say that it just shows that we totally gifted Garvan to Palace. |

| News Comment | Jewell: I\'m Sure Keane Will Be a Success Elsewhere at 11:31:23
Note that PJ didn't actually say that Keane would go on to be a success as a manager but that he would go on to 'other things'. I think that diplomatic comments are a requirement in these circumstances. |
