| News Comment | Webster Hoping to Return This Season at 12:50:10
NoCanariesAllowed - talking of Sam Parkin, I was reminded of him the other night whilst watching the aerial threat posed by our new young striker Kieffer. It seems they both have similar heading abilities. |
| News Comment | Town Linked With Rebuffed Bid for Preston Striker at 13:04:48
We have strikers on the books, some of whom have scored for fun in the past and some of whom may be prolific in the future, IF GIVEN SOME SERVICE. Spend the money on a decent, passing, goal-scoring, central midfielder who can keep the seat warm until Dozzell comes of age. Surely we would get more for our money? |
| News Comment | McCarthy: Loanee Grant So Versatile at 12:58:17
Currie10 I think you are spot on and everybody else has missed the subtext...MM never slags off his players publicly so he is just bigging them up before dropping them (though not Skuse obviously). It's all good! |
| News Comment | McCarthy: Malarczyk Will Have to Bide His Time at 13:51:44
Penguin - I disagree with your last 2 points but agree that we dont need Douglas and Hyam playing the same game. However there is some evidence this season that Douglas can play a more attacking role, as I assume he did at Brentford to score all those goals, and so too can Hyam, a bit. So I think Skuse has been excellent all season but we do need a Bru-but-better attacking midfielder to play alongside him. |

I was quite happy for MM to play his 2nd X1 against Portsmouth. What I found hugely disappointing was that the 2nd X1 is clearly not very good. At the end of August it seemed that we had two really strong candidates for every position. Now, as MM openly admitted after the game, that is obviously not the case. |

On cash alone that has to be the best bit of business we have ever done. Just hope it doesn't go straight into the back pocket, but who can blame Marcus if it did.. |

| News Comment | Academy Duo Against Rooney Rule at 14:16:12
I pretty much agree with most of what is said on here but unfortunately we are not all such clear thinkers. I had to sit in a different seat against Watford and my enjoyment of a great win was marred by a near neighbour's criticism of the Watford team. He wasn't complaining about their disgraceful fouling and cheating but at the number of "darkies" and "nig-nogs" in their team. It reminded me of being at PR back in the 70s, in fact I'm surprised he didn't bring any bananas to the game. (I would like name and shame him by his seat number but that would be libellous.) To look at he appeared typical of quite a lot of older West-Standers the-friendly-old-gent type, so it makes one wonder how much these abhorrent attitudes still linger beneath the apparently liberal society that we live in, and maybe there is still a need for legislation such as Rooney's law. Anyway I'm looking forward to going back to my usual seat for the next game. |
| News Comment | Cheapest Day Out at Town £31.70 at 13:12:05
I'm not saying that the tickets are cheap but it's not necessary to pay £8.20 for a dirty pie, a nasty cup of tea and a glossy magazine. Eat before you leave home or bring a sandwich, a flask and a good book. I just go to PR for the football. |
