| News Comment | Accrington Stanley 0-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 19:09:38
I sat near McKenna in the first half. He spent a lot of time looking into a computer screen. I guess he was watching replays of the action. Total contrast with the Accringon manager who leaned impassively agauinst the wall with the odd scream at the fourth official. A great performance against a difficult team to beat. |
| News Comment | The Most Memorable Day in Town’s History at 11:50:44
An agonising game. Total domination butwe had to wait ages for a scrappy goal, and in those days our opponents were known as "Lucky Arsenal"! I remember Arsenal supporters singing "Does your farmer know you're here" to us on the tube! I think the day we won the old 1st Division at Portman Road in 1962 was also pretty memorable. I am lucky to have been present on both occasions. |
| News Comment | Starting to Look Up Rather than Down - Notes for Preston at 10:49:02
Nugent greatest ever Preston striker? What about Tom Finney, one of the all time greats and certainly Preston's greatest ever player. People didn't talk about strikers back then, there were 5 forwards and strange positions such as inside-right and inside left, but whatever his position he scored a lot of goals for Preston and for England. |
| Blog Comment | Mick McCarthy’s Magic Method at 09:05:27
Excellent blog. It reminds me that we used to have a reputation, gained under Robson, as a "pretty" footballing side. When Joe Royle arrived he said that we could pass the ball anywhere except into the net. So often in those years we played attractive football and lost. |

Charlton boss Chris Powell: " in the Championship it's very hard when a team nudges ahead and it's hard to pull it back. Teams that go ahead normally take a point or three.” He obviously hasn't been following Ipswich this season. |
| News Comment | McCarthy: Should Have Put Them to The Sword at 10:17:20
I wish Bluebert could tell me where you can buy tickets to watch Man Utd for £31. I have just looked online at the prices for next week's game against Crystal Palace, the cheapest I can find is £69. Not I hasten to add that I have any intention of going, even at £31. |
| News Comment | Titus Bramble in Squad Against Gills at 18:32:19
He is hopefully now a bit more mature, and a talented, experienced player used to playing at the top level, and a real blue who would give his best for the club. Mick will I am sure take a good luck at all the options, but this one is well worth considering. |
| News Comment | Holloway: Scoreline Flattered Us at 08:13:21
I was at the game on Saturday, and I think Holloway is quite correct. We played well in the first half, and were very unlucky to go in 2-0 down. Clearly we need a few additions to the squad, and need a bit more height in the team, but this looks a far better team than a year ago. I was at the 4-0 loss at Burnley last year, and felt far worse after that. |
| News Comment | Wickham Fee Reportedly Agreed With Sunderland at 08:58:24
Why do people think there will be a bidding war? Surely all that Liverpool, Spurs or anyone else has to do is match Sunderland's bid and the player and his agent makes the choice. |

Agree with all those supporting Phil. This is a quality site - not so sure about the forum though, but that is hardly Phil's fault. |
| News Comment | Jewell: We\'ve Received No Wickham Enquiries at 12:29:38
I wondered how long before someone mentioned Jordan Rhodes, our former promising striker who has now spent almost two seasons in Division 1. If Keano had kept Rhodes and let Wickham go we would not now be having all this trouble from Premier League scouts, so clearly as with much else at Portman Road he is to blame. |
