| News Comment | Downes: It Was Never the Case That I Refused to Play at 13:23:49
All of you slating Downes for having his head turned by the possibility of playing for Palace need to take a look at themselves. I enjoy my work and love my colleagues but if I was offered a huge pay rise and the opportunity to work with far better managers, facilities and opportunities then I would run like the wind! Anyone who says they wouldn't are either daft or totally lacking in ambition. I would rather have an ambitious hungry workforce than an unmotivated one. |

League clubs cannot loan players outside of the transfer window so non league is the only route for experience at this point. |
| News Comment | McCarthy Set to Watch Dundalk Winger Horgan at 11:44:13
Jesus.....what a bunch of negative comments. You would think people would be pleased that Mick is looking at a potential free agent who has represented his country at international level. How you lot have such great insight into what we could offer him with regard wages and personal terms is beyond me! |

| News Comment | Marriott Rejoining Woking at 13:32:59
I have said for a while now that he needs to be kicking on and worrying the first team, but it seems he just isn't at that level. I wish teh lad all teh luck in the world but its time to shape up or ship out. As a side topic I'm not sure I understand the comparisons with Dean Bowditch who since leaving Town has been top goalscorer with Yeovil and MK Dons and is head and shoulders above anything Billy Clarke ever achieved. |
| News Comment | McCarthy Delighted With Performance Despite Season-Ending Defeat at 20:40:11
How can anyone complain about this season.....you lot have such short memories! Last year we were battling relegation! This year we are almost in the play offs? Yes the football had been less attractive than we would like and Mick tends to err on the side of caution, but I know I would rather that than have a team of big time charlie's or older pros coming to the end of their career who have no interest in the badge taking their ways and then moving on. I'm no 'happy chappie' and we'll not be happy if we don't make any progress next season, but the turnaround so far is brilliant! The trouble these days is people want instant results or the same level of success we had in the good old days...get real people it will never happen! Let Mick keep building and maybe next season top 6 might happen!! I lived through the days of John Duncan, and Bobby Ferguson so know what it means to watch your team fall apart and be rebuilt and this current position is exactly the same. Keep the faith my friends! |
| News Comment | Big Cheese Comedy Club at Portman Road at 15:53:11
To be honest this is a pretty strong line up....just becuase it doesn't have the 'TV Stars' on it doesn't mean its a lesser bill of acts. All three comics are well known on the circuit. The comics you see regularly on the telly generally have toned down their acts to be more family friendly, or upped the vitriole to cause maximum shock! I am looking forward to seeig them! Ian is a major comedy talent who has been on the circuit for years and years....he has refused to do TV as he would need to water down his material! Tom Binns aka Ian and Ivan is a well known comic who has appeared on Radio Four numerous times and is well respected in the comedy world. Paddy is a relatively new comic (well....2001 debut) who has appeard on Talksport and irish TV). he is very well reviewed and should be a laugh! And yes I am a 'stand up' geek! |
| News Comment | Smith Nets Late Winner for New Zealand at 14:59:01
People seem to forget that when he was comnig through the ranks Tommy was seen as a future great for the club and then he suffered two terrible injuries just as he was breaking through. He has had to work hard to get back to the level he was at and only now are we seeing the real Tommy Smith!! Well done Tommy and keep it up! |

| News Comment | Jewell Says Goodbyes at 18:58:12
Well done Mr J. Very dignified, and in keeping with the spirit of ITFC....a gentleman's club....although some of the posters on here seem to forget the traditions set down by the Cobbolds.....red wine anyone? |
| News Comment | Clegg: Jewell Still the Right Man for Town at 14:28:17
Sometimes I wonder what you lot are on. The man has had 18 months....you just cannot fashion a new team in such a timeframe. He has inherited a squad of average players.....we have to be honest and admit that before he came here very few of our players would feature regularly in a top half of the table team. To get people to move to hte back of beyond is a nightmare. Even if we offer comparable wages to the higher placed clubs the cost of visiting relatives, getting a decent property and getting hte kids to a decent school is prohibative. We are an average team, we need a revamp, and Jewell is trying....do you really think he would still be in a job if the multimillionaire businessman Marcus Evans saw no possibility of a return on his investment?? Jesus christ it isn't the 1970's.....we are not, and never will be, a power in English football again.....we just have to face the fact that until we get a lucky season, or some youngsters come good this is us...average, mid table, going no where...and yes I am a season ticket holder and have been since the glory days of John Duncan...so I'm not spouting from my ivory tower.... Rant over...back to work! |
