Been listening to a few ‘end of COVID season’ podcasts & it’s easy to overlook just how incredible a season Coventry had.
Cited as pre-season relegation candidates, they had to work with a budget far smaller than ours, a pool of players half of what we had, bags of off field nonsense & all whilst not even having an advantage playing at “Home”.
Even Mark Robins, regardless of his past ties, is a pretty bang average manager to say the least.
Whatever your opinions on Lambert, or if he deserves to stay or must leave - Coventry’s much deserved success this campaign has highlighted all his failings - and also the freak show at Sunderland.
Always been a fan of Eno. Here Come The Warm Jets (1973) & Taking Tiger Mountain (1974) are my main acknowledgements of his best solo work. But someone recently told me to check-out Before & After Science (1977)....apart from Kings Lead Hat, I'd been a bit oblivious to the LP.
Any other recommendations of his vast collection of work I need to dip into?
I genuinely thought the overall TWTD collective opinion of Harrison (from last season), was that he was better than Action Jackson? Or did I grossly misread the situation.
Slaven Bilić, a manager without a club since the start of the year is suddenly heavily linked this week with a return to the game with WBA. Now, if the Baggies 'really' thought he was their #1 target, he'd have been appointed by now. There would be no pay-off to any club, or baggage to protract proceedings.
WBA are clearly waiting on something - or someone. Lee Bowyer's contract with Charlton ends on Friday & rumours suggest he won't be getting the promise of financial backing from the Belgium owner. More importantly, if news reports are to be believed, he's already been interviewed by the Baggies' hierachy.
The bookies second favourite for the WBA position, Rui Almeida, has just ruled himself out by taking another job with SM Caen in France.
