| News Comment | Smith Confirmed as All Whites Skipper at 19:04:14
Tommy. Boys. Do us proud. Anouther big scalp to add to the growing collection of teams that read "New Zealand" as "Minows" would be great. Kia Ora. |

A good sensible blog. dont concur with all but worth the read, When I was a kid, our local team gave free tickets to the lesser games to the schools. A great way of getting us hooked, especially for midweek games as we went on mass with our teachers. It still the way the lesser rugby teams keep blooding the next gen fans back home. I dont beleive ST holders would begrudge 6/7 games with lesser team resulting in free tickets to schools in midweek. I'm sure they would prefer to look long term and see the bennefit of their own kids growing up alongside fellow townies, not chelski et al. |

Sensible comments alex. I dont think he has kicked on with ITFC due to being put int he firing line week after week, but he has for new z. His first couple of games was patchy, but now considered the heart of a defence that left the WC unbeaten. |

alfromcol - As an HR Bod i use a second interview to confirm I dont want someone as much as i do to those i do want. If i'm still unsure I'll give them a temp to perm and not take up the option if they are shizer grande. Sometimes the applicant isnt perfect, but i need the cover and they will do until i find the gem. I never release staff earlier from a contract than i need to if there is no cover- i need to cover sickness or the odd defender getting injured against the soleman islands. |
| News Comment | Kourouma Deal Finally Done at 21:53:58
"He's not even that good" Give over. How many of us can say we have seen him play? Poor S+d, shows the kind of determination and focus many of us moan the team lacks, and thats all you can say? |
| News Comment | Klug: We Should Have More Academy Players in First Team at 19:12:48
Burley was not a great manager. Good yes, great - No. His best spells always happened when he had a good no.2 - Gorman, Housten etc, without them by his side we slipped. As Langdon said, all the manager does is pick up a good youth player from the acedemy - the hard work was always with the likes of Klug. They produced - the manager took the credit - thats football. I think BFG was our most underated manager - dont blame him for walking away when faced with the prospect of replacing all those players sold when we lost to the Ham in the semi's. |

I am biased, being a kiwi et al, and having Tommy play at Ipswich helps promote the team back home where theere is growing support. Keep him, he's had some rough games, and his inexperiance shows - but thats it, inexperiance and lack of a regular mentor / partner. He can be a great town player |

I am a Kiwi - am back home becouse of this. I PERSONALLY CAN SAY, 100%, THAT TWTD - THE USERS - PHIL ET ALL HAVE SHOWN INCREDIBLE SUPPORT |
| News Comment | Town Fan Missing in Christchurch at 13:22:12
Please take some heart in the fact that people are still being found. I'm sure all supporters based in New Zealand will be heartened to hear of the support TWTD and ipswich fans have given. |
| News Comment | Smith and New Zealand Lose to Chile at 20:07:01
we have no chance in the world cup. we cant be good at everything. Thats a top logo. I knicked it yesterday. Is that really him in the pic? lol. |
| News Comment | Tottenham Make Wickham Bid at 16:29:55
he's going to go. Its just to whom and when. 5 mill and loaned back is better than 6 mill + and gone for good, especially if spurs pay a % of his wages. Its not a bad offer to consider and play hard ball with. 5 mill is also more than keane will have to spend this year. |
| News Comment | Smith Switches to New Zealand and is Off to the World Cup at 19:49:01
Bonza. I've already booked the england games off work. Now I get to watch a tractor boy playin for my beloved New Z. Christmas has come early. I will of course be behind the lions, as this is my home, but i will dread the outside chance of us meeting. And no, tommy wont have to learn the haka.... |
| News Comment | New Zealand Want Smith for World Cup at 19:21:25

Welsh Tractor boy... you are seriously basing an agrument on not signing player begining with P? what a load of barlicks! "le pen" erm, thats an l for a start and wasnt a striker or forward. If you meant any player begining with P, then i take it you never heard of Sixto Peralta....? |
| News Comment | Lisbie Still Set to Return at 16:42:51
And i totally agree with Hype313 - though change is inevitable, this is not the club i fell in love with anymore. |

Evans dosnt have the club at heart, a different buyer may have done but here was none about. If evans really cared for the club then he would have removed all advertising of his brand from the Newcastle game. Instead it felt like the ME tribute game to Bobby Robson, as it was clearly going out to a large audience. Instead of wasting money on keeping irish teams out of admin, or fattening up the glazier family with the odd million and a half, how about using it to reduce ticket prices? |
