Makes you wonder what the point of the BBC is any more. Shocking decision on an enjoyable program |

Went to the game today and cannot disagree with most of the posts here. Inevitable disappointment, however there was nothing on display here we didn't already know. We are only one decent muscular striker away from being a good team when we are at full strength. Our time will come. Keep the faith!! |
| News Comment | Cook: We Should Have Been Given More Time at Town at 14:38:41
In comparison to McKenna who looks seriously professional, Mr Cook looks and sounds like the manager of a Sunday league team. I really believe we've hit the jackpot with our new manager and it shows what a great operator Mr Ashton is |

The two men who made Ipswich great, Ramsey and Robson were unknowns. I am sure Ashton & Co have done their due diligence. If it comes off this will be the most exciting appointment since Jim Magilton. This guy has been at a much bigger club than ITFC so won't be overwhelmed. Brilliant! I hope it's confirmed. It will be in the tradition of the Ipswich way! |
| News Comment | McGreal: Really, Really Poor First Half, the Inconsistency is the Crux of It at 11:38:00
Let's look on the bright side. Now we're out of all cup competitions we don't need such a large squad and the new manager can offload all the passengers and those who don't really want to be here in the January window. We know we've got some good players, but the secondary "fringe" players who have been played in the cup games are simply not good enough and trying to play two "teams" has destroyed the momentum of the best 11 we could put out for league games |

| News Comment | McGreal Confirmed as Interim Manager at 12:04:44
We all try to read the runes. Personally I think "interim" could be stretched quite a bit, especially if we start to move up the table. I just cannot think that McGreal would agree to take the job on the basis of maybe 4-5 weeks, nor could I imagine his assistant coming in to do the same. Mr Ashton has been quite cute here. We have the defensive qualities of McGreal and the tactical intelligence of KD. By saying the appointments are "interim" the pressure is taken off them and the board still have the option of an outside appointment if it goes wrong. I think they've got to the end of the season at least. |
| News Comment | Cook: We Ended Up Losing a Game We Couldn’t Lose at 11:34:37
I agree a defensive coach would improve things. I recall a similar situation in the George Burley days. He hired Stuart Houston and lo and behold we stopped shipping goals and it was 1-0 to the tractor boys. Paul Cook is a Marcus Evans appointment, and the common thread with all his appointments was managers who had had their day in the sun. We really need someone who is yet to have their day, and hopefully have it with us. |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 2-5 Bolton Wanderers - Match Report at 17:52:25
I was a fence sitter as far as Cook's appointment went, but I'm falling off it now. No matter who the personnel are, the end product is the same. Did no one look into the size of the Bolton defenders before playing Chaplin? By sticking rigidly to his wonderful system, he has no change of tactic when things aren't working. As others have said he's out of his depth. His record since his appointment is too poor for him to stay any longer |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 0-0 AFC Wimbledon - Match Report at 18:10:28
having just read Paul Cook's rant in the Star, I feel he has nothing to lose to pay off the contracts of those he doesn't intend to keep NOW and get them out the building. This is beyond a joke. Been watching since 1962 and this is even worse than the Jackie Kilburn era |
| News Comment | Cook: Painful Nights Like These Hurt Me Deeply and I'm Sure They Hurt Our Supporters at 12:32:14
I agree Europa. PC himself said that if we get into trouble we don't have the mental strength to get out of it. That attitude was also prevalent in the relegation season. I'm also disappointed that we won't make the playoffs, but we wouldn't have had a free ride there. Did anyone seriously think we'd get promoted this season on the basis of our performances? There was no chance, whoever the manager happened to be. We should get rid of Tractor Boys and henceforth be known as the Bottlers. |
