Ipswich transfer update - Philogene, Doak and more Latest from Sky Sports News' Dharmesh Sheth:
The signing of defender Ben Godfrey on loan from Atalanta could be the first of a number of players arriving at Ipswich this month – with a focus on strengthening the right side and attacking areas.
Ipswich remain in talks with Aston Villa over the signing of winger Jadon Philogene.
They came close to signing him in the summer when they agreed a £22m deal with Hull City only for Villa to trigger a matching clause.
Villa boss Unai Emery has said publicly they will allow Philogene to leave on loan this month.
A number of other Premier League clubs are interested in Philogene.
Ipswich continue to discuss internally whether to go back on with an improved offer for Liverpool forward Ben Doak.
Gap in valuation exists for the player who is on a season long loan at Middlesbrough.
There could be a number of exits at Ipswich this month too.
It’s understood if suitable offers came in for the likes Ali Al-Hamadi and Harry Clarke – among others – Ipswich would consider them. Al-Hamadi is seen as a player whose development would benefit from playing regular football.
