Sounded even better being at Wembley when that number boomed out after the final whistle!

Cobbold - block B , Row X - restricted view
at 10:48 4 Nov 2024

Depends where your seat is. You might get away with it or you may be close to a near vertical metal girder obstructing some of your view of part of the pitch. I always used to go for row X in the Cobbold when we were lower down the pyramid because there was usually plenty of spare seats so you could move about and avoid any view obstruction. No so now with every game a sell out!

A much better matchday experience yesterday compared to Man City…
at 15:24 16 Sep 2024

Hate to be smug but was treated to a ticket via a work connection and was in the 1901 club Harveys lounge and balcony seats for the game. Situated towards the away end looking on the Town fans down below us. I usually equate being an away fan in the 'home' end like being dead and in Hell but for this visit it wasn't too bad. The two other guests were Town fans and our host - Brighton of course, was outnumbered for the day!

Who remembers trips to
at 11:39 13 Sep 2024

I'm struggling to recall the date but I know it was an evening fixture at the Goldstone (probably late 80's). In the away end, needless to say and after the final whistle we were locked in the ground for a good half and hour after. It seemed longer on the night. Must have mistaken us for Milwall I suppose?
I remember being pretty miffed about the delay getting home -only 23 miles for me but a darn sight worst for anyone else getting back to Suffolk. It did have an eventual upside for me. Later back at work, I moaned about the incident and was overheard by one of the lads in the office who was a Brighton fan. He told his Dad who through connections with the management, for the next time we clashed got me a main stand seat next to the directors box (buckshee of course), and access to the members lounge and bar. I was certainly home later than half an hour after that session, I can tell you!

My favourite near the station is the Lord Nelson. Does a lovely drop of Harvey's Best in there. 36 Trafalgar Street. (sharp left as you come out the station and down the underpass, past the toy and dolls museum, 2nd pub down the hill on the other side of the road)

Same here (almost) through connections will be watching via the 1901 Club lounge and the seat that comes with it. Our colours strictly forbidden, needles to say.....

Portman road beer
at 13:24 19 Aug 2024

Best ground for beer must be the Amex- ale that is. If you drink lager ignore this. B&HA have a deal with the local Brewer, Harvey's just down the road from them. Very nice drop of bitter and reminiscent of Adnams Southwold..

Anyone remember the mayhem in the town when Celtic played us in a testimonial match for Alan Hunter I think? Hundreds of Scotties descended on the town very early on carrying bags of drink, completely Brahms and Liszt by time of kick off and it must have cost the council a fortune clearing up the rubbish they left after..... Good luck with that, Germany!

I'm sure the Royal Oak in Ifield Green, Crawley will have it on. I'm still weighing up whether to watch it in there or not......?

Does no one in the Anglia region want to play Nodge development U12’s? My grandson’s team- Three Bridges Under 12s have been handed a fixture over the Easter holidays to play that lot at Ardingly College, right in the middle of west Sussex. That must be 150 miles away from budgie central. Is this regular at this level? I guess it must be. Anyone know?

I heard they hate their 70's accolade of 'Dirty' Leeds still bandied about. From one who watched their Revie era side I saw more than a shade of that today. They certainly still dish it out...
