So what are we all doing on Saturday??
at 17:27 18 Apr 2024

I'm playing a gig in Nottingham, which is a welcome distraction. I was hoping to get there in time to find a pub and watch the Leicester game, but that seems unlikely. Hopefully they'll have dropped some points by the time I get there...

Likewise, saw MC50 in 2019 which was Wayne, Billy Gould (Faith No More), Kim Thayil (Soundgarden) and Brendan Canty (Fugazi). Was an excellent gig.

RIP

LOWER NORTH - WTF are you doing?! Seriously
at 20:54 13 Jan 2024

I think that the fact all our home games since Norwich have been cold winters evenings have impacted the atmosphere somewhat. But I also know ,that for me personally, any buzz that I have going into a game is sapped out of me by the people who are on certain players backs from the moment their names are read out on the team sheet. Some of the god awful 'insight' some of us are subjected to is enough to put anyone off!

I should just sing over the top, but it's not always easy. Credit to Blue Action, though. They do a great job.

Beatles or the Rolling Stones?
at 20:37 5 Jan 2024

The Beatles. For two reasons:

Lemmy said The Beatles were better.

No member of The Rolling Stones narrated Thomas The Tank.

Grunge/stoner rock.

I'll be honest, this is a shameless plug. But members of local groups East Town Pirates/Blacktop Harrison/Clash of Titans/Cardinal have formed Khoshekh, just released a couple of tracks on Spotify etc. Hopefully have another local gig soon...

I've just discovered MC50

Strangely, I was talking about them yesterday evening. Saw them a few years back supporting Alice Cooper (along with The Stranglers), they sounded incredible. That'll be my Sunday afternoon listening.

Thought Arctic Monkeys were awful. Sparks and Billy Nomates were both good, haven't watched Comet is Coming yet, but they make a decent sound (not according to Dubtractor).

I too enjoyed Bearded Theory. Yard Act, Pigsx7, Viagra Boys, Skindred were particular favourites.

Arctic Monkeys are awful.

So what's everyone's " Sod's Law" fixture date ?
at 22:37 21 Jun 2023

We will play Norwich at home on Sunday 20th August whilst I'm at a festival. Failing that, I've just agreed to a gig on 30th September.

Not cool.

Unlike Clutch, who are very cool.

Someone transferred a client to me the other day, and the client had it on in the background.

A cruel way to go out.

You probably already know of them, but C.O.F.F.I.N make some great noise.

Nice one! Have just put it on.

Seeing Clutch next month, and Pigsx7 in March. Very much looking forward to both!

Never saw this. Agreed, we actually used to play it to our son when he was a newborn, and it seemed to help!

I often find Ludovico Einaudi quite relaxing to listen to when work gets a bit stressful.

Bands you need to see before you die

Obviously not the same as seeing them in the early 90's, but Levellers are still well worth a look when they're on tour. Simon hasn't been playing with them live since gigs have been a thing again, but hopefully he'll be back soon.

Without giving too much thought:

The B-52's
Tool
Sleep

But I'm sure there are many others.
