I'm playing a gig in Nottingham, which is a welcome distraction. I was hoping to get there in time to find a pub and watch the Leicester game, but that seems unlikely. Hopefully they'll have dropped some points by the time I get there...
I think that the fact all our home games since Norwich have been cold winters evenings have impacted the atmosphere somewhat. But I also know ,that for me personally, any buzz that I have going into a game is sapped out of me by the people who are on certain players backs from the moment their names are read out on the team sheet. Some of the god awful 'insight' some of us are subjected to is enough to put anyone off!
I should just sing over the top, but it's not always easy. Credit to Blue Action, though. They do a great job.
I'll be honest, this is a shameless plug. But members of local groups East Town Pirates/Blacktop Harrison/Clash of Titans/Cardinal have formed Khoshekh, just released a couple of tracks on Spotify etc. Hopefully have another local gig soon...
Strangely, I was talking about them yesterday evening. Saw them a few years back supporting Alice Cooper (along with The Stranglers), they sounded incredible. That'll be my Sunday afternoon listening.
Thought Arctic Monkeys were awful. Sparks and Billy Nomates were both good, haven't watched Comet is Coming yet, but they make a decent sound (not according to Dubtractor).
Obviously not the same as seeing them in the early 90's, but Levellers are still well worth a look when they're on tour. Simon hasn't been playing with them live since gigs have been a thing again, but hopefully he'll be back soon.
