Ipswich Town 0-1 Sheffield United - Match Report
at 19:27:53

Esseeja - completely agree re the main three. Those who know me know that I never wanted McCarthy to come to Ipswich from the outset. You only have to look at Wolves, Sunderland, Millwall etc.

I'm surprised the midfield is as injury hit as it is, it's not exactly like they're doing too much box to box running and dominating games under Dinos style of play. Maybe they're not out with hamstring, groin, etc injuries and are actually out with sore backs and crook necks from watching the ball fly over their heads?!

Mick has to go. One substitution made today when chasing the game is just a joke. Shows just how much he holds the cup competitions in contempt. Surely the FA must look at his record in the cups and the teams and tactics used and think that he's throwing matches deliberately...which is an offence?

Eseeja, Ipswich could potentially be a half decent sized club again with the right ownership. Evans could very easily wipe all £85m of that debt clean. After all, the majority of it is owed to himself. There's been clubs who's chairman have just wiped the slate clean. If Evans was an ‘Ipswich fan' as he claims to be, he'd do just that, surely? If any of us were in his position and could afford it, we would, wouldn't we?

Bore off Mick, Terry, Ian and Marcus. I just want the old Ipswich back, not this current mess and joke of a club. I said after Lincoln drew with us at home last season that we should've sacked Mick there and then and offered the Cowleys the job. They went on to promotion and are looking good this season for back to back promotions and into League One. There's a a very good chance that we could be playing them twice again next season...

Get Mick gone now, get a new manager in and give him the rest of the season to assess the squad. With how Mick's letting players potentially go left, right and centre though, I have a funny feeling that Evans will be giving him that contract extension in the summer...😞

Smith Close to Colorado Switch
at 14:44:34

We're already short in the CB position and have an injury prone Webster, so letting him go and replacing him with a loan player that is dependent on their parent club getting in cover (wasn't it the same story in the summer??) is just plain bonkers. Smith and Webster would form a great partnership for years given time and training. But has to be under someone else other than Mc-hoof-Carthy.

The club has lost all direction.

First half we looked the better side and should've gone in at half time 2-0 up in fairness. I don't know what McCarthy said to them at half time but we lost all intensity and it's another sloppy goal to give away. I thought Adeyemi was poor and so was his twin, Nydam (I know he's young) and the game passed them both by.

If Mick wanted to save his job in the eyes of the fans, today was the day to do it.

Take away the fact that it was Norwich, it now means we've only taken 6 points from the last 24. Or, put another way, 6 points since the first four games of the season. That's relegation form...

Mick out.

6 centre backs, sorry, forgot the wonder kid that was Digby! Was Polish Pete still with us last year as well? As that'd have been 7.

QPR 2-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 19:47:54

I've lost 95% interest in Ipswich (hence the lack of posts) but I have been following the results, reading the reports and listening to the games...here's my opinion: No different to last year.

Yes, we won the first 4 league games....Birmingham, Millwall and Barnsley were amongst the favourites to be relegated at the beginning of the season (alongside us). Barnsley, Millwall, Brentford and Fulham all battered us. If it wasn't for Bart (as per usual!) and and some freaky striking stats (9 goals scored off 12 shots) we'd have been languishing second from bottom.

Yes, we have a lot injuries....You almost have to ask why? It's not a common problem that a club suffers injuries to 11 first team players within weeks of the season starting. Is it the training? Training pitch quality? Some witch (possibly Delia) has put a voodoo on us? Who knows? However, the centre back situation is quite frankly a joke. We had 5 senior centre backs on our books last term; we let Berra and Taylor go and knew pretty early about Smiths and eventually Websters injuries. We shouldn't have been looking at getting a loan in on the last day of the window that depended on whether the parent club signed one themselves. We should've been permanently signing one earlier in the window and then possibly looking for a loan towards the end for another back up.

Skuse is no captain and he's also not good enough. I can understand the need of playing a holding mid at the moment but, Skuse just isn't good enough. Our luck has ended and I still maintain my prediction of 16th or below finish again.

Hopefully the last season with Mick in charge. Fingers crossed.

McCarthy: We're in a Relegation Scrap
at 19:16:46

Oh yeah, I'd also like to know where the McCarthy sympathisers are? Swn, bohslegend, etc? "Where are you, let's be havin' you" (in the words of that drunken cow up at Carrot Rd).

McCarthy: We're in a Relegation Scrap
at 19:12:47

We've been in a relegation scrap for the majority of the season to be honest, Mick. We're lucky that Rotherham and Wigan look certain to go down - are we better than Wolves, Birmingham, Forest, Bristol, Burton or Blackburn? I honestly don't know if we are! They all score more goals than us which, ultimately, is what is going to save you.

So many failings over the past two seasons. I said mid way through last season that we'd be fighting relegation this (as did a few others).

Mick should have gone at the end of November. A new manager should've come in, assessed the team through December and then strengthened in January. Our owner/board are both clueless and neglectful. Should never have given Mick the chance to decide his own future. I can not see ST sales going north of 8,000 next season (that's me being optimistic!!)

Milne: We Must Bring Back Younger Fans
at 07:08:22

Joke of a board at a fast becoming joke of a club. Giving attendances of 15k but we all know that they're more like 10-11k. The only way the club will reach the measly total of 12,750 ST sales is if they sack MM, get in a younger exciting manager and invest rather heavily into the squad. Keeping Mick is, surely, financial suicide (even with the 1.5% increase). I really wouldn't be surprised to see ST sales down to 8-9k.

I do, however, applaud them for reducing prices for u23s. I do fear that it is a little too late, though; the damage is already done. Also, why would anyone under 23 years of age who're looking for a good time go and watch Magic Mick's turgid and downright wrong football?

I'm not renewing unless I see significant changes - starting with McCarthy. I know scores of others who go to every single game (home and away) who aren't renewing and are going to pick and choose. It's all starting to feel the same as it did with RK and PJ here now. Actually, it feels worse because at least whilst they were here (RK in particular), there was still a passion/fire about the club. Now, it just feels like nobody even gives a toss or can be bothered with it which is a very dangerous situation for the club to be sleep walking into.

It Has Been A Great Year, I’m Well Happy - Notes for Barnsley
at 18:39:39

I dislike Mick as a manager, with a passion to be honest, always have. But as a person, he is a "proper bloke".

I like Barnsley, decent club with decent, level headed fans who know what they are. There's certainly a few clubs in the league who's fans should take some lessons from them. I'd certainly swap Mick for Paul, though. Took Barnsley from bottom of the league to play off winners and Johnstones Paint Trophy all in 5 months and on a small budget too. Plays football the right way, has an eye for a bargain, is young an up to date with the modern game. I'd welcome him in a heartbeat.

Norwich City 1-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report

You all know that I am very anti-Mick and have been very vocal in that. Yes, in days gone by, we'd all be dissappointed with a point at Carrot Road but, you have to live in the real world. 6/7 years ago we went there with a squad that, arguably, was a lot better than today's (certainly cost an awful lot more, anyway) and got beat 4-1 and then 5-1 in the return leg....

I still very much want Mick out...it isn't going to happen until at least the summer though. I'd argue we are now safe...time for Evans to start looking for a replacement manager and to start looking and talking to players. Regardless as to who is here in charge next season, it really is time that Evans put some real investment in.

TimmyH - maybe because the cost of a squad does mean something? Teams like Norwich, Villa and Derby all splashing £8m+ on single players in the Championship is ridiculous, especially as none of them look likely to go up this season, when you look at the likes of us who are constantly signing freebies and bargain basements. Yet we've taken 9 points out of a possible 18 from them (only losing once - to Derby). Spending £8-9m on a single player generally buys you better players than spending £10k on a non league player....that's why people are bringing up squad costs. Pritchard cost them £8m and was sat on the bench for the majority....I think he's a little bit better than Skuse, Douglas, Bru, Hyam, Bishop etc.

Ipswich squad total cost today - £1.06m
Norwich squad total cost today - £35m

F**king up any last hopes of a play off push from the Budgies - priceless.

Valiant effort from the boys today although very much a backs to the wall job. Should've had a penalty first half but would've been harsh on the scum to be fair. Big Pole in the goal kept us in it so can't grumble too much at him being beaten at the near post. Well done Town. Difficult month and we've done much better than expected (although I wasn't far out by predicting 5 points after the Derby match!)

Hairbear, if you think that ITFC employees aren't on here getting a general consensus of fans thoughts, etc. then you are the deluded one. Most companies do it. I'm part of a page on FB about Nissan Navaras chassis snapping and it is well documented on there that members on the Nissan Customer Service team (the people dealing with the claims against the snapping chassis) are on there keeping tabs.

Sears Hoping to Give Fans Something to Sing About at Carrow Road
at 06:30:03

BlueMachines, I think the resurgent tag is meant for the performances. Considering the opposition the results were against, I'd say it is resurgent too.

I really, really, really do hope we beat the Budgies this week! It's been too long since we've had the bragging rights and a draw doesn't suffice. Just wish it was at PR as they're terrible on the road at the mo. Please, Town, 3 points against the carrot crunchers and this season won't have been a complete and utter waste and failure.

McCarthy: Unlucky Not to Claim All Three Points

I like Gary Monk and think he's a cracking manager, but he was obviously watching a different game. 1-1 certainly wasn't a fair result as I don't remember them having a shot in the second half. As for the conditions/pitch? Didn't look bad to me?

Another decent performance and result. Long may it continue! Just goes to show who the deadwood is, who we need to buy and that MM needs to stop being so stubborn and listen to us fans a bit more. Should have been 8-10 points from 12 as I'd say we deserved to win against Reading, probably draw against Villa and Brighton and definitely deserve the win today. Good to see Berra back solid and Knudsen seems to fit a LCB more than a LB. Missed the finishing of Lawrence today I feel.

Hope Toumani is back in for Skuse against the Budgies and we give them a real stuffing...it's about time and they're a bit wobbly at the mo. We'll done to all at ITFC, Mick included.

Brighton and Hove Albion 1-1 Ipswich Town - Full-Time
at 04:57:27

Good result....but, let's be honest to all the Mick In Brigade, he's now listened to the fans who've been crying out for Skuse and Douglas to be dropped, for Chambers to be moved to CB and for Kenlock and Emmanuel to be playing. We've been saying to play a 3-5-2 (makes sense rather than trying to shoe horn 3 CBs into a back four) He suddenly does it because of 'injuries' (is Skuse really still injured or is Mick trying to save face here??) and our performances improve and so do the results. I bet Mick is feeling a bit embarrassed inside, really. Especially after slagging us fans of constantly claiming he knows more about the universe than we do!

Huge clear out in the summer and a huge recruitment drive needed. Skuse, Douglas, Berra, Best, Coke and Taylor all need to go. We need two more strikers (at least one prolific) and at least two CMs (definitely not defensive master classes a la Skuse). Diagouraga and Huws clearly wouldn't be bad signings but wouldn't be £10K signings (Huws especially) and obviously Lawrence would be the perfect purchase. Will it happen? Probably not. We'll probably end up with Dave from The Queens Head team.

As for the, "where are all you Mick haters now"....I haven't seen many of you post for a long time until today...........Is that enough dots, bohslegend?
