While I've no grounds on which to doubt the sincerity of your "polite" anti-sentiments about me & my TWTD contributions -- you are after all a 'repeat offender' in that [joyful] regard I believe dear @dirtydingus lol -- I *as usual*, just to use your own ploy wording above, completely fail to see the INHERENT NEED for any remote such utterly derisive, repeat utterly derisive, response to my (or any other TWTD member's for that matter) prose and/or *elaborated* pov and/or persona!
This time not only the cute part about you feeling ehhh strangely compelled to inform the rest of TWTD that you personally get quote "numbed into a state of trance" by the mere first paragraph of my granted often quite lengthy & detailed contributions, but additionally the lurid & very tasteless part about quote "my local"... only has ONE real purpose in my book (and for what it's worth particularly to such a hmmmm: Highly competent & morally encompassed self-appointed "Assessor" as you, that book too of my top professional 'head-shrinker' -- but in your probable view then also presumed uber submissive & especially "PROSE-INDULGENT" :-) -- of a wife as well btw, who earlier peaked at my turned on mini-laptop and thus at this article's post) and that is to score some so called 'Brownie Points' on yours truly behalf! ...by eagerly jumping or re-jumping on the "Let's 'Politely Insult', Personally Attack' or else just Vilely Ridicule @MZT" bandwagon.
As I've pointed out in prior instances of these delightful 'Case Studies' of @MZT directed INSULTS (and make no mistake about it the rest of TWTD: That while not always outright vilely worded or intended they are nevertheless indeed INSULTS in some poorly disguised form or another, not mere "polite" disagreements! With the latter of course being absolutely normal and acceptable 'back & forth' for a chat-board) innumerous times before:
1) Alas if my inputs here in general is vehemently not to your liking and/or "literary capacity" etc. etc.... well then bloody don't even attempt to read them!!! (And hence therefore ABSTAIN yourself from commenting on, or slaughtering rather, said inputs just for the sole purpose of "politely" insulting me just for the [joyful] sake of it".)

I think a Burley & Butcher combo would definitely bring "something" special to this stagnant-looking club -- and especially the clubhouse and everything that goes on in there -- that none of the other managerial candidates probably can. That "something" is obviously the for decades talked about old and very **nostalgic** genuine 'Ipswich Way' of things & thinking... But while the revisitation of that glorious SOUNDING concept would initially surely transfer onto the stands and thereby increase both ticket sales & crowd atmosphere considerably, hmmm would it, EVERYTHING CONSIDERED ANNO 2018+ (and by everything that includes a utterly football clueless & nowadays inexplicably tight current ownership), also eventually transfer onto the actual on-the-field action too and like in those local folklore'ish 'Days Gone By' become really positive not to mention truly successful???
As much as I respect these 2 true Ipswich legends, I have my serious doubts... and in the case of Mr. Burley The Manager there is just no way around the insignificant fact that this is now a staggering *18 long years* since that unforgettable & very successful 2000-01 PL campaign & him winning the Manager of the Year award.... and SADLY worth mentioning by the same token: Just a mere single year short (*17 long years*) since his rather forgettable & very unsuccessful SUDDEN managerial déroute here!!!

I do remain a well-founded SKEPTIC (not pessimist though!) to this day. In life in general (incl sports of course) I do actually like to view myself as a living-in-the-present *Realist*.... and thus not anything adhering to the opposite nature I.E like when talking ITFC fans then fairly many among them who are thus either of the super CREDULOUS susceptible (but also sometimes fickle-minded) in-The-Moment *Optimist* kind ...incl. those being it "just for the sake of it!"; Or even what is gently known as a 'Romantic Fool' including those often still wholeheartedly dwelling on the glorious glorious long-gone past"; Or even the many very Suffolk symptomatic Ultra COMPLACENT ones among our fanbase.
So ehhh if this ultra spicy mixture of me additionally striving to be predominantly objective rather than yawny blue-tinted subjective as well as of course being this aforementioned very jesty *Realist* is not to your personal liking... well tough luck! 2) Shockingly, according to most here, he appears to have "won them over" by *simply* at long last popping out the woodwork & presenting himself as a caring, 500% BELIEVABLE & genuine 'Proper Bloke'.... in this his OWN carefully self-orchestrated, non-live & thus with pre-arranged known-beforehand questions 25 min interview yesterday... and almost solely because of *that* very nifty Public Relation STUNT of his, well thus indirectly inferred by many here: That ehhh whatever unkept promises, outright porkies (mostly through his immaculate clueless mouthpiece IM) detrimental decisions, lack of decisions or way too-long-underway decisions he most *certainly* is "guilty of" in those 12 years here (including seemingly not being able "to find" the extreme petty cash -- for a 700 times millionaire -- to merely keep the once renowned good turf at PR in any way resembling decent condition this year! -- is more or less "All Forgotten"???!!! :-) lol :-)

Period!!! But imho we at ITFC currently simply lack sufficient amount of *reliable* i.e. non INJURY PRONE talent! also when merely compared to those other penniless clubs doing wonders, in our btw also largely by MM "negative-football-brainwashed" current squad, to compete for promotion... no matter who the next manager is ! Would have been soooo cool with even an "auxiliary" ITFC promotion imho! But alas they ended up a very respectable third, 4 points adrift of Charlton occupying the 2nd promotion spot behind run-away winners Crystal Palace. BTW 110 goals were scored in our 29 fixtures... and not a single 0-0 draw among them!
Well the 5-0 thumping by Crystal Palace on November 6 2012 and the TOO SOON to follow 6-0 thumping by Leicester on November 17 2012 in Mick "The one & only savior" McCarthy 2nd & 4th game first game springs CLEARLY to mind.... Well done MM-adoring Cole & the needlessly way-too-openmouthed MM-loving Jonas :-) :-) Cause there were several of shall we say: Less than stellar ratings among 'The Lads' today, including the usual defensive strong man CV and uhuu! even our usual true "live saver" King Bart?! as well the latter got the first real subpar rating on this very thorough & NEUTRAL site that I can recall in a very very long time! As for some of 'WhoScored.com's other renowned dissected game stats like say 'Total Shots' (3-21 & we had ONE on target!) + 'Accurate Passes' (256-601!) in particular.... well my advice: Stay away from looking at them until bedtime or time for your Valium!!! lol
But as said on the starting lineup article: 1) I'm inclined to believe it *appears to be* that our 'Captain Calamity' is really in part throwing his "assumed" weight (and future wannabe-manager aspirations lol) around way to much with the uncomfortable-of-spotlight Mr. Klug . Whether Rambo Chambo indeed has any saying or doing in it or not as I speculate ,well it simply wasn't a very daring or futuristic experimental starting XI was it? especially considering we yet again are an Championship "Also Ran" and have nothing put pride left to pay for this campaign??? Alas so much for going 'All-In' in stuffing the squad with top-motivated youngsters and probable future players ... particularly not only *on behalf of* of soon-to-be-gone loanees, but also of Has-Been 'Mickities'! WOW! @Gcon a very notable example of 'each to his or her own' as the saying goes I guess.... but quite alrighhteee indeed :-), so just to show my own skewed form of utmost *respect* no not so much to Mick himself (cause as explained elsewhere when seen on particularly a balance scale I sincerely don't find him quote "deserving" of much if anything at present! i.e. from me personally anno mid 2018) but predominantly to those many UNDERSTANDABLY mourning Mick worshippers then, I have dug up a little rarely heard these days & *hard-to-find* something to ehmmm soothe you at the bottom of this post....
That is for THOSE among said mourners that has shown some form or restraint, sensibility and not the least fresh forward-thinking! (as SOME of you gladly have!) in their "post-mortem" saluting remarks about Mick's ITFC ---- and thus NOT to those among you mourners who succumbed to a classic mere spouting of sanctimonious & CLEARLY vindictive vitriol often combined with pretty baseless or unsound calls for freakin' Deity like RESPECT to be shown for the man???!!!, the very SAME man who as explained earlier on this site has never been a giver of respect at ITFC (with the exception of an overdose of it unconditionally handed out to his favorites & 'Proper Blokes'!) on this concept of RESPECT which is the very epitome of a "two-way street"!!!!!!!!!! ... and who while as most recently @Gcon here just mentioned rightly did do SOME *positively* memorable things during his 5½ years here including "saving us" in 2012/2013 (but imho so could a sizable number of other seasoned managers likely have done were they cut from the more or less the exact same ultra defensive & ultra anti-football cloth as Mick!) additionally should also be remembered for these following not remotely *positive* deeds:
1) Greatly accelerated this now numerical colossal fan mutiny from ITFC (I say accelerated cause not completely at Mick's door obviously, since said mutiny also has partly to do with the increasing cost of being a football fan and then with the many detrimental or outright wrong decisions taken by Clueless & Indifferent Marcus The Owner during his sorry tenure!)
2) Greatly fueled this during especially the last 2-3 years of his 1-dimensional Dino reign: fairly all-embracing and steadily growing APATHY with the club & and the football it put on display, aye even among many of the objective & non points-fixated-only fans who still kept on going week after week!
3) And last but not least this aforementioned topic of the rightly very apparent lack of respect for him as a manager & strategic leader personally, which as I explained in detail elsewhere on TWTD by & large **sadly** was brought on ENTIRELY by his own grandiose ego & defiance driven self... by his own dispositions and actions... or lack hereof! Call it KARMA if you will, but hmmmm from an peculiar Atheist's perspective like mine well then that old Holy book known as 'The Bible' is not all gibberishly wrong people! :-) lol: As in all but the odd case you really do wind up "REAPING WHAT YOU SOW" ... and that eventually goes for each and everyone of us H@m@ Sapiens on Planet Earth I kind of tend to believe!
But enough of MM & MM linked argumentation from me this round, cause while I will continue to defend myself and my fed-up-with-MM views also on TWTD ...and *occasionally* debunk some of those from others which are very severely NON-FACTUAL or baseless, I much prefer to concentrate wholeheartedly at what I said in my 1st post here on this article:

But now on to a much more serious note: I too completely agree with what the majority of posters have been inferring on these hallowed TWTD pages within the last 36 hours or so: We as fans must NOW reconcile... and much like "The Departed" the self-perceived Infallible Mick here: Look forward with hope... not backwards with (to quote him) ANY regrets!

Good old saying that one, don't you agree? :-) :-) ...but seriously @Elto & others: Respect is the very epitome of a "two-way street"!!!!!!! In order to gain respect, you darn well have to be a giver of respect as well! (...and in Mick's case we are not talking here about MERELY handing it out pretty unconditionally and almost in overdoses to the beloved favorites & 'Proper Blokes' among his selection of employees i.e. players!).
Oh and as I am certain can be found somwhere within any decent "Leadership " and/or "Respect" ABC: "Leaving your ego behind is a **crucial** element too in getting & maintaining respect!" :::: Ego is a social mask that thrives on approval, control and power... because basically it's grounded in fear. Hence Let Go! of worrying about whether you're getting the credit you & your imposing ego THINK you deserve. Instead focus completely on your mission, your tactics/strategy to achieve said mission & your array of "components" at hand -- and keeping in line with the notorious Mick's ITFC analogy of *unjustifiable* favorization,'Proper Blokes' and *recurring* undaring & negative hedgehog tactics -- thus always deploy a WINNING mentality & chose only the most useful & very best among said "components", obviously!
(Cause ANYTHING else i.e. just choosing the same tried & familiar methods and/or 2nd or 3rd best "components" simply due to lame personal attachments, stubbornness or utter planlessness!, will not only make the in this instance: other players, feel unmotivatedly overlooked & gradually sulky, but the audience or customers to your "end-product" will eventually become very susceptible to end up disgruntled too! all leading to a distinctive lack of respect (and even morale!) in the long run, in and of itself.)
And so I could actually carry on and on with a plethora of pretty *factual* examples & analogies of how the SUPPOSEDLY praiseworthy Mick 'The One & Only Messiah' McCarthy's downfall & specifically his "lack of respect" from many among the now very fed-up 'Naysayers', yours truly included, was caused ENTIRELY, repeat ENTIRELY by his own actions (or lack hereof!) ... and yes I take the liberty to exclude from the equation & the argument those selected FEW super imbeciles who chanted wildly obscene & sexual repugnant remarks at him during for instance the Brentford game!!!
"Normal" heckling HOWEVER, is quite **sadly** a part of any, especially rich, pro sport nowadays!
And besides there is really no getting around that in the vast majorities of pro team sport venues you as a paying customer are "in principal" actually ENTITLED to quite a lot of basic demonstrative things -- the most non-basic & grave exceptions being of course outright hooliganism and other violent behavior -- whether anybody else in the stadium darn like it or not! (Just for the record: Personally in 9 times out of 10 I vehemently don't like it!) And if you as a manager or seasoned player are too thin-skinned to handle this ...well tough luck pal! cause then you are simply in the wrong type of business. And again a generally very lucrative business (compared to other lines of work) at that! Period!
PS: And lastly regarding this stupefying 'Mick alibi no. 1' still reccuringly floating around: "That he didn't have any money" (true enough in itself obviously) and thus should largely therefore be exempt of ANY criticism whatsoever cause he in a sense performed quote "miracles"... PLEAZZZE! PLEAZZZE people! Money has next to nothing to do with pleasing your customers and most importantly: Playing with both a winning outlook & tactical mindset wrapped around some delightful offensive, entertaining and successful play-off and even promotion-capable football in the process! I could recite many examples here too, from home or abroad, but let me simply suffice to name the most recent and perhaps grandest examples in our own division and thus say... the competent ex-Dortmund youth coach led Huddersfield of 2016/2017 and this campaign's "Shots on Target' crazy and just wildly offensively impressive Millwall of 2017/2018.
And on these looongwinded *weighty* notes NOW let me thus see them as previously allured to 740 downvotes i.e. the perceivable TOTAL capacity of (narrow-minded) die hard Mick-Inners here on TWTD... :-) lol :-)
