It's all wildest dreams or worst nightmares at the moment isn't it...
at 06:13 24 Apr 2024

We have had a fantastic season and couldn't be more proud of the team, yet it could still be anything from ecstatic celebration to absolutely devastating.

At one end of the spectrum we've got winning against Huddersfield at home to book promotion to the PL, resulting in the party of all parties.

At the other end, our season ends watching Norwich celebrating promotion after beating us at Wembley, and we're listening to an ironic rendition of Portman Road is falling down.

What a horrible game this is.

Mid-life career jump into teaching...
at 13:40 22 Apr 2024

I'm considering the jump into the profession - I've been working in the university sector for nearly a decade now but it feels like a sector that's lost its moral compass (students as consumers, all about the £££'s, bums on seats etc).

However, it's a pretty significant drop of income, which we can work with. In the pros column are; no more London commutes, works for childcare pick up and drop off, more local life, training year itself is good financially, seems rewarding and still has a social purpose and get to use degree for it's subject rather than just a tick-box.

Cons; doesn't sound easy by any means, low pay initially (although hoping extensive management experience will help me down the line here), social inequality, and starting from the bottom again.

Is there anyone in the profession (or connected to) that has any insight on what it's like at the moment that might add to the above?

I'd love us to go up, but football with VAR is f*****g s**t

Not looking forward to this nonsense, scrap it now. The wrong decisions were never as important as sanitising every goal celebration.

Awful, awful addition to the game.

Good news for the player of the season dinner
at 17:47 13 Apr 2024

Our goose was well and truly cooked by the end of that. If ever we needed a break, it's now.

Shame we couldn't find a winner, but I'd have only dreamt of being in this position so all in all still so proud of this team.

We need the break too - going to be a huge last week of the season!

Favourite Suffolk spot

Where is everyone's favourite Suffolk spot?

For me - it's Orford. Nowhere else I'd rather spend a few hours or more, although Walberswick isn't far behind.

Does feel like this place is getting worse at the moment
at 22:53 8 Apr 2024

Anything resembling pessimism/negativity (Aviator's post earlier as an example) is just met with either brazen abuse or 'Budgie' - it's making the forum a bit tiresome. A well known and 'respected' posted called me a C U next Tuesday last week but it doesn't seem to be that out of the norm. Are we all so stressed with the end of the season that we're taking it out via our keyboards? I've been a member for a few years now and it's currently the most unpleasant it's been in that time - albeit still a good forum in comparison to many others.

Not innocent either (although haven't sworn at anyone) - but why it's so fractious at the moment I have no idea.

Given that I don't think the site has anything in place to identify and safeguard U-18's (will apologise if I'm wrong), we could all do with pondering whether we'd be happy setting this example to minors.

Especially poor half from Luongo, Morsy, Tuanzebe and Moore - plus Hladkys error
at 13:22 6 Apr 2024

Haven't got into this game at all, silly foul from Morsy as well.

Not going to get anything out of this if we have so many 5/10 performances, big half time team talk from McKenna.

Could be a huge day for Needham Market FC today
at 09:58 6 Apr 2024

If they win and Mickleover and fail to win, it's the National League N/S!

Would be great for them - but also imagine that is a huge ramp up in travelling costs and time, so might not suit everyone.

Better matches for our youth players we loan them though.

Norwich Tickets (or returns in general)
at 11:10 3 Apr 2024

I assume it's beyond unlikely now that any become available - but anyone have any idea how common it is that any are returned? I assume it's a case of keep checking but if there's any set window where they update them would be handy to know when to join the bunfight!

I didn't even know you could return a match ticket as easy as it seems to be - the amount of times I've not bought one because I wasn't 100% sure I could make it when I could have just returned it with a few days to go...

It's still a travesty that Brandon Williams is taking up a squad space
at 18:39 1 Apr 2024

Tuanzebe is trying but he's not a fullback, and with Clarke been managing an injury all season it's bordering on negligent to have not replaced him.

I understand we might not have been able to cancel the loan, but we could have deregistered him and brought someone else in.

What a non-story - some football fans really need to grow up
at 13:50 12 Mar 2024

Unless I'm missing something, what on earth is there to apologise for here?

Swansea City sporting director Paul Watson insists he meant "no offence" to fans after being pictured with former Luton Town boss Nathan Jones.

Jones has made no secret of his support for Swansea's rivals Cardiff City.

Former Luton chief operating officer Watson faced fierce criticism after being pictured sitting next to his former colleague during the FA Cup defeat at Bournemouth

"I worked with Nathan for five years," said Watson speaking at a fans forum.

"When I went to an away game, they put our seats together because they knew we'd worked together. On reflection, I apologise. It won't happen again. I certainly didn't mean to offend the fans."

I'm okay with a Leeds win
at 21:50 23 Feb 2024

Look at Leeds next five games compared to Leicesters - I'd expect Leeds to pick up more points over that period than Leicester by a significant margin so don't think Leicester are at all unassailable. Leeds' momentum on the other hand, impressive.
