Great news for us - other half won't get able to get to quite a lot of the games so this is a safety net without losing money or the seat. Bad news for anyone hoping for season tickets to not be taken up by current ST holders as this removes a lot of the risk of just keeping them. |

I'm not going to complain about it much, all in all they weren't going to please everyone. However the away tickets *ballot* concept seems totally flawed to me. By ONLY allowing the next level down into the ballot, they're just going to gradually make the band above bigger and anyone in the lower bands further down will still never have a hope in getting to see a game. I really don't think they've understood the feeling here - saving some tickets from 20+ point holders so they can give them to 15+ points holders sounds like almost as much of a closed shop as it was to start with. |

If Mark Ashton has made the decision that he thinks Kieran want's to go (or KMc has advised MA that himself), this could be an attempt to protect him and the board from any blame here. Not that I'm saying there should be any... So KMc is about to leave/explore leaving, and then Ashton and the club leak out a 'blockbuster £5m a year contract offer' that they've made. If he surprises them and takes it (and all the clauses I'd assume come with), then great - if he doesn't then no-one can doubt we threw every penny we could at him. Not criticising, would expect the club to protect themselves a bit. Has the feel that KMc has decided it's time. |

It's like match day but constantly, barely any conversation that isn't about McKenna survives long enough on the first page to maintain any interest. Added to that, it's just versions of the same chat happening in different directions. |

We have had a fantastic season and couldn't be more proud of the team, yet it could still be anything from ecstatic celebration to absolutely devastating. At one end of the spectrum we've got winning against Huddersfield at home to book promotion to the PL, resulting in the party of all parties. At the other end, our season ends watching Norwich celebrating promotion after beating us at Wembley, and we're listening to an ironic rendition of Portman Road is falling down. What a horrible game this is. |
![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | Forum Thread | Mid-life career jump into teaching... at 13:40 22 Apr 2024
I'm considering the jump into the profession - I've been working in the university sector for nearly a decade now but it feels like a sector that's lost its moral compass (students as consumers, all about the £££'s, bums on seats etc). However, it's a pretty significant drop of income, which we can work with. In the pros column are; no more London commutes, works for childcare pick up and drop off, more local life, training year itself is good financially, seems rewarding and still has a social purpose and get to use degree for it's subject rather than just a tick-box. Cons; doesn't sound easy by any means, low pay initially (although hoping extensive management experience will help me down the line here), social inequality, and starting from the bottom again. Is there anyone in the profession (or connected to) that has any insight on what it's like at the moment that might add to the above? |
