McKenna: We Take the Positives From the Performance
at 11:22:13

I watched the whole of the second half on Sky, and saw the first half in the highlights. So, although I didn’t get the whole picture, I think McKenna played it right last night. We were within a whisker or two of scoring in the first half and just couldn’t breakdown a Watford side determined to play for a draw. That their closest effort came from a shot on the half-way-line in the dying seconds says it all, really.

Nobody said this would be easy; and everyone was right!

Keep the faith - we go again!

This is so exciting - we could have been streets ahead with a win on Saturday and miraculously, we’re back in the driving seat. We really have to bring it home and do so in style.

Palace Reportedly Fail in Move For McKenna
at 18:59:48

What an attractive proposition!

“Leave that Championship team and come to us in the Premier League!”

3 months later ….

“Oh, so we’ve been relegated and your old team have been promoted but, Crystal Palace, eh?! Can’t beat Sarf London! Wayhay!”

He’d be mad to do it now, whatever the money they’re offering.

Of course, if we don’t go up this season, then all bets on KM leaving would be off.Even so, I highly doubt CP would be his preferred choice, for lots of reasons.

McKenna: My Full Focus and Commitment is On Town
at 14:49:38

I really can’t see the appeal of moving to Crystal Palace. They have an injury crisis and are staring relegation in the face. Sure, McKenna may wish to consider his options at the end of this season, and he’ll have plenty of choice and clarity of where we’ll be playing to weigh in the balance. But to abandon ship now, with the job half-done and a career defining double-promotion in his sights, I just can’t see it.

McKenna: Credit to Maidstone, a Horrible Game to Lose
at 17:00:00

A real embarrassment for us today and great credit must go to Maidstone.

Let’s hope this provides the impetus, or kick up the rear we need to get back on track for the remainder of the season.

Ashton: We Won't Execute Cobbold Stand Plan Until the Time is Right
at 16:43:35

There are big lessons to be learned about handling stadium expansion, given the financial consequences of building the Pioneer stand and expanding Churchman’s and the North. Would love to see it happen as it would look awesome but, as above, there’s little financial need when the TV money is so huge in the PL.

McKenna: A Really Exciting Opening Fixture
at 12:04:55

Concerning lack of preparedness for games on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Making it easy for our opponents to catch us off guard:

“For me, our main focus at the moment is just going and showing that we can be competitive and we can compete every Saturday, every Tuesday or Wednesday, impose our style of play, go and be brave and show that we can compete in this division again,” he said.

Blues Boss McKenna ‘On Celtic Radar’
at 13:58:48

KMK is always going to be linked to bigger clubs but he would be mad to move now; he's done really, really well here but the Championship will be a much bigger test. We have the patience to indulge him if things don't go smoothly next season and he will learn from that. A poor first season with anyone else and he will be dropped very quickly.

I'd like to see him get us up to the PL in the next 2-3 seasons and if one of the big 5 then come knocking, so be it.

Ashton and Staff Very Focused
at 18:40:54

No, there's no desperation to get out of the championship. There's a risk of getting promoted too soon and getting spanked in the PL. I think the owners will be comfortable with a season or two consolidating our credentials before really pushing for promotion.

Ashton: We're Going to Have to Look at the Capacity of the Stadium
at 14:24:24

In my view, we could easily fill a 40k+ stadium and it would be great to rebuild the stands to do so. Our record attendance is from the 1970s and was about 37k and I'm sure we could attract far more than that.

However, the reailty is, we don't actually need to build anything, because if we reach the promised land of the PL, the money is from TV, not matchday tickets. This is how clubs like Bournemouth and Brentford are able to survive.

Then, if you add in the historical collapses we've suffered after major stand expansion, the inconvenience and lost capacity while the works are ongoing, you have to ask whether it's worth the risk?

Ashton: We're Working on Development Master Plan With Local Authority
at 15:49:37

If we were a PL team, we would sell out every home game much as we more or less so now. If you think we had 37k crowds in the 70s, it's not hard to imagine crowds of 40k+. So we should build big and go for it!
