| News Comment | Town Make £18.17m Loss at 09:27:10
This is a really helpful summary for the layperson, thank you! One typo: "Proceeds from player sales came to £2.3 million, largely the Flynn Downes sell-on and youth players such as Calum Logan, up on the £2.67 million in the previous season." This would be down not up presumably?! |
| News Comment | Pert No Fan of 13-Minute Injury Time at 15:04:51
I can't understand why they don't try and have the equivalent of a basketball stop clock and agree a time, whether that be 60,70 mins when the ball is typically jn play during an "average" match and just stop the clock when the ball goes out or is not "in play" |
| News Comment | Blues Linked With Forest Striker Surridge at 21:19:14
Not that put off tbh, he's young and will want to prove he's good player. Think he's been an asset from the bench and would be a decent addition to our squad, so long as a deal can be struck. In Mckenna / Ashton we trust. Hope there'll be more signings making their eat to PR (incl. Simms?!) got the feel of an Alun Armstrong to me?! |
| News Comment | Barnsley Game Postponed at 15:22:38
Anyone know if this affects when Morsy's yellow card amnesty is lifted, is it on a specific date or after a particular matchweek. The chap is walking the tightrope admirably but could do with that particular risk gone |
| News Comment | Harness Starts at Millwall at 14:36:52
I know it's "only" a friendly but.... one week to go til the season, pretty much the strongest line up and bench, had a few decent run outs and a full summer with the gaffer and backroom staff, decent championship opposition on an absolute dream of a pitch.... COYB 💙 |
| News Comment | Woolfenden: We’ve Got to Start Playing to People’s Strengths at 18:55:23
GK. Holy RB. KVY CB. Woolfenden CB. McGuiness LB. Ward (c) RM. Edwards CM. Downes CM. Bishop LM. Bennets/ Sears CF. Jackson CF. Norwood Time to play to our strengths with all our squad coming back. All our creative talent wouldn't play at the same time but great attacking options from the bench with Dozzell, Lankester, Sears, Nolan, Dobra, Huws, Judge to choose from. I just think our squad lends itself to playing 442 and having a regular side out there. I think this team would fight from 0-90 and we'd see the best of them all. Plenty of quality there to get excited about |
| News Comment | Lambert Not Ruling Out More Signings But Admits Squad Size Needs to Be Cut at 21:03:13
Unless we do need to get the wage bill down, i think the following XI would be very competitive and exciting in L1 (and beyond!) playing 4-3-3, plenty of options on the bench and in reserve. GK. Holy RB. KVY CB1. Chambers (or take a punt on 6'5" Hawkins at CB?!) CB2. Woolfy LB. Ward RM. Edwards CM. Downes LM. Bishop RF. Judge CF. Norwood LF. Huws Subs - Wright/ Donacien/ Hawkins/ Skuse/ Lankester/ Sears/ Jackson In reserve - Wilson/ Kenlock/ Dobra/ Dozzell/ El-Mizouni/ Ndaba/ Morris/ Cornell Loans - Prszybek/ Nolan/ Nsiala/ Nydam/ McGavin/ Folami/ |
| News Comment | Town Confirm Proposal for Consultation on Play-Off Alternatives at 09:22:08
I know it will sound like sour Grapes because of the position we find ourselves on but it doesn't feel right that a season in concluded by a computer simulation rather than on the pitch. I'm no fan of seeing the game played out behind closed doors either without fans there but at least it's still football. This all feels far too soon following the global pandemic changing lives as we know it bit the PLs wealth shines through again. How about they pay a % of their collective wealth to EFL clubs to enable them to fill their funding gap this season and enable the season to be completed on the pitch? Any alternative scenario lacks any sort of credibility |
| News Comment | My Best Town XI: Bobby Petta at 18:35:48
Not gonna lie, I shed a little tear with this piece (maybe it's the result of this continued lockdown) Seriously though, Super Bob was something else and this team was so exciting. I love following Ipswich during those promotion chasing years with back to back play offs. It was a roller-coaster but am so chuffed and privileged to have been able to follow them at that time. Thanks Super Bob!! ðŸ‘🽠|
| News Comment | Tranmere Rovers 1-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 17:49:50
Great result to turn that round in tricky conditions... Downers, Huws and Bishop look like they could be a handful from now until May. If they can stay fit then we'll definitely be challenging. COYB |
| News Comment | Lambert: We Still Need to Establish Dozzell's Main Strength at 21:08:56
He has played just 23 games, how can people be so sure that he's not up to it? He is one of the stand out young creative talents and that potential needs nurturing. Yes, absolutely he needs to deliver and prove himself as there are others who can take his place but give the guy a chance, he can be very influential and his "gift" of changing the tempo of a game is what we've been crying out for through the Mick Mac years. |
| News Comment | U23s Defeated By Charlton and Still Looking for First Point at 22:38:19
I loved the fact that we had a strong u23s last season as a silver lining to the 1st team cloud. This isnt great as we need confident deputies to be able to step into the first XI but can't hide the fact that I'm delighted the tables have turned this season!!! ðŸ‘🽠|
