| News Comment | Town Launch Ticket Resale Trial at 16:58:06
It’s a win win situation. As a season holder I would get back £21.52 per match. But the club could sell it at £30 - 35 so could make a small profit. The best though is that someone could have the chance to see a game when ordinarily it would be a sell out. |
| News Comment | Cardiff City 2-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 15:47:57
Totally gutted! It’s one thing losing, but to lose like that is something else. Even if we had held out for a 1-0 win, I still think that Leeds & Leicester would get automatic promotion. Our defence simply isn’t good enough and relying on getting more goals than the opposition isn’t going to work over the course of 46 games. That said, that approach can still win the playoffs as long as we can avoid Norwich. I am starting to fear Norwich away in a few weeks time’ |
| News Comment | McKenna: It'll Take a Lot of Work Off the Ball to Stop Swansea at 13:57:10
Usually when we play away at either Cardiff or Wales there is the inevitable chant of ‘England, England’ from the Town fans. However with Burns, Broadhead and Moore in our ranks, maybe on this occasion we could confuse the Swansea fans with chants of ‘Wales, Wales’ as effectively our forward line will be just that! |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 1-2 Maidstone United - Match Report at 22:53:41
It’s now been eight hours since the final whistle went and I still feel gutted by the result. Why should this be? Do I care about progressing to the 5th round, not really it’s promotion that I want. If it had been a 2-1 loose away to Bristol City for example, I would not really care. It’s not the fact we have gone out, it’s the fact that through the manager and players we as fans have been left totally humiliated once again. I have had fans of other clubs sending me texts. I have had to endure seeing our defeat against a team 98 places below us on the main BBC News. Tomorrow will see photos of Maidstone players celebrating in the dressing room on the back of the Sunday papers. We will have it shoved down our throats once again at the 5th round draw with the Maidstone players gathered round in their social club. Followed by live coverage of Maidstone in the 5th round with replays of how they beat Ipswich. It was totally unacceptable today as a Championship team to lose to Maidstone at home on National TV. For the first time since the new ownership took control, I feel let down by the team and management. Arguably a good thing as it was a regular occurrence just two years ago. I really hope that lessons have been learnt and we can go out and take three points next week. As already said a proven striker is a must. And with only 18 games to go, no more tinkering with the starting 11, can we start with our strongest team. |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 1-2 Maidstone United - Match Report at 14:46:45
Possibly the worst result in ITFC history. What does it say for the rest of the season if we can’t beat Maidstone. I thought we had turned a corner following the Sunderland and Leicester games. Puts doubt in my mind for the rest of the season. |
| News Comment | Leeds United 4-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 16:16:29
We got stuffed today more than my turkey will be on Christmas Day. Most teams in this league we can out score over 90 mins. But this wasn’t the case today with Leeds boasting the 2nd best defence in the league. We need a plan B when approaching teams like Leeds and Leicester, a let’s not get beat attitude and revert to a more defensive tactic, much like Norwich did last Saturday. McK has got a brilliant attacking team, but sometimes when all what’s required is a draw, there is no plan B |
| News Comment | Rotherham Match Postponed at 17:26:01
Absolutely ridiculous, the match should have been postponed soon as the station flooded and before the Town fans had left. I am near Grantham, it’s the worst flooding that I have seen here on my 14 years since I moved here. Roads flooded and blocked, neighbours homes flooded out. Perhaps the ref called it off as he floated down Rotherham high street in his car! |
| News Comment | Rotherham: No Concerns About Playing Surface at 16:57:45
Just been out and about on the roads near Grantham, only just made it home with roads blocked/flooded. The houses just up my street are flooded with water running off the fields. I didn’t buy a ticket for the match, thank goodness. I don’t care if the pitch has a great big plug hole in it and the game can go ahead, it’s unfair on all fans who will struggle to get to the match. It’s still chucking it down here in Lincolnshire and likewise in Rotherham according to the radar. |
| News Comment | Town Draw Fulham at Home in Carabao Cup at 22:55:29
At first glance it does not seem like a game for TV with plenty of other all Premier league ties. But is Sky are looking for an upset type match, then our game stands out as being a possibility. |
| News Comment | Blues Launch TownTV and App at 09:37:49
I never have been bothered with internet sites showing football unless I can watch it on a TV screen, without the hassle of trying to connect HDMI leads to the TV. If Town games were live on Now TV or Amazon Prime, I maybe interested. But watching football on an IPhone or laptop isn’t for me. |
| News Comment | Fleetwood Town 2-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 20:13:15
Following the highs of last weekend and nothing to play for this weekend, I was happy with the draw. Keeps out 19 unbeaten run going and just 4 defeats all season. Plymouth deserve the title, but who really cares. Wouldn't want to be in Sheffield Wednesdays boots tonight. 101 goals scored and a +66 goal difference says it all about our season. Attack minded and mean at the back. Unlike in the Evans days, players will want to come to Ipswich. The future looks full of promise, this season was just the start. Thank-you Gamechanger, Kieran McKenna, the players and especially all of us fans who made it all possible! Onwards to August! |
| News Comment | Town Set to Break iFollow Record at Fleetwood at 13:09:27
Sky's league one coverage may as well have been called Sheffield Wednesday V……fill in missing team. Since January it's been nothing but Sheffield Wednesday. No Ipswich what's so ever, despite being the best team in the world of current form tables. I suppose Wednesday can have their next 3/4 matches shown live, still may not get them promoted ! |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 6-0 Exeter City - Match Report at 23:23:53
To MM be careful what you wish for! We now have super owners, super manager and above all super fans. You couldn't even hold down a job at Blackpool for more seven weeks. This is why we got rid of you and Evans, for days like this and more to come! Well done to everyone associated with the club. We may not finish top two next season but surely will must have a tilt at top six. Much like Luton and Sunderland this season. Finally on my drive back from the game to my home in Lincolnshire, I listened to the Norwich game. How the mighty have fallen, fans giving them stick at the final whistle. Can't wait to bring it on' COYB!! |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 2-1 Port Vale - Match Report at 23:11:19
I was back in Paris tonight for the first time in 4 and a half years. Spent the entire match at the Moulin Rouge. Really could not concentrate on the show, more concerned about tonight's results. Looked like one of those games where the opposition defended in numbers. Won't need to worry about that for the next two as Posh and Barnsley will attack as need to win. Will we get promoted, of course we ‘can can'……I'll get my coat! |
| News Comment | Luongo: Inevitable We Were Going to Concede at Some Point at 16:28:18
Would rather have come back from 1-0 to win 4-1 but there you go. The next two games are mega important with Town at home and the other ‘three' all away. We need to be top two before trips to Barnsley and Peterborough. If we are then I believe we will stay there with Exeter and Fleetwood to come. Interesting to see Plymouth away to Exeter on Sat, a true local Derby which will hopefully go Exeter's way. |
| News Comment | Former Blues Boss McCarthy Leaves Blackpool at 16:11:18
I have no sympathy for MM, I still see his foul mouthed abuse against are fans at Norwich. Remember the phrase ‘careful what you wish for' followed by the delight from MM that we went down. Quite frankly even if we fail to gain promotion this season, I would rather be under the management of Game Changer with KM in charge. Never under the MM/Evans era was Portman Road bouncing as it was yesterday. ‘Careful what you wish for?' We thé fans were careful and got you Mick and Evans out!, |
| News Comment | McKenna: Me and Karl Were Both Happy to Abandon and Play the Game Another Day at 19:43:57
It wouldn't have been unreasonable to abandon the game, but only if it was to be played again. A point was no good to us anyway. Perhaps it should be pointed out, that none of the numerous late goals which have gone against us have had nothing to do with the weather. I still have faith in Kieren, he still has credit in the bank. But having gone four without a win, is it time to wheel a player out on Monday to apologise to the fans? Probably starting with the captain! |
| News Comment | Hirst Loan Signing Confirmed at 20:45:06
Considering George Hirst is pictured in an Ipswich top in front of all the shirts ready for use. All of which played yesterday, I would suspect this deal had been done before kick off. A fact backed up by George being seen sat in the stands. I KM knows a bit more than he lets on! Not that I am complaining! |
