Player of the year vote is really tough, which emphasises what a great season!
at 14:13 11 Apr 2023

This is really hard with so many great players this season but it just has to be Morsy for me, the remarkable, relentless engine of our brilliant team.

Should post this elsewhere but off out now so:

Hearing Morsy's name always starts that old kid's song of 'Horsy, Horsy Don't You Stop' in my ear so added a little spin to it for him.

'Morsy, Morsy, he don't stop,
Just lets his feet go hippety hop,
We'll get our wish as he turns around
Hail, The Portman King is crowned!'

sorry....

How many TWTD user names have you had?
at 10:38 1 Dec 2022

Only ever had the one name which I chose many years ago in the dark days of ME's reign in the hope that one day we would get an owner who loved & respected our club as much as we do and that the good times would finally come back to Portman Road.
When the Yanks bought our Club and their association with Phoenix Rising became known you could have knocked me down with a feather duster!!
Maybe somewhere in the Valhalla of footie there is a god finally looking kindly upon our beloved Club and perhaps even wearing a blue scarf!

Anyone know if we have a great

chant to sing just for Paul Lambert tonight? He deserves something special to show we appreciate everything he's doing for the club and the fans.

Hopefully different from the usual ' barmy army.'

Would it benefit our finishing in front of goal to have a good striker coach?
at 12:58 6 Nov 2018

working to get the best out of Jackson, Harrison (when fit), Roberts and others, given that we have to work with the guys we have until January. Thoughts?

Who would you choose for that role if you could have anyone?

Who is going tonight then?
at 17:00 18 Sep 2018

My other half won't be going as laid up in plaster caste and on crutches having ruptured achilles tendon on Sunday. Under strict instructions to keep leg elevated. Much groaning and moaning and gnashing of teeth but will leave the radio tuned to the game and a nice bottle of red to toast and give thanks for the Beat.

My son are I are going tho, usual ST seats upper SBR, we wouldn't miss it for the world. Have to be there to join in the tributes to The Beat and support our beloved Ipswich Town, no matter what, just like he always did.

As the Big Man always used to say, "3 - 1 to the Town!"

IT’S HAPPENING

Welcome back chant:

Country roads, bring him home
To the place he belongs
Ipswich Town
Jon Walters, bring him home
Country roads.

Really hope JW does come back. I am certain he will have lots of experience and guile to add to the team even if he is 8 years older now. He was exciting to watch and always gave his all for the team.

someone needs to organise a fecking great banner for the scum game, one word
at 18:10 19 Aug 2018

Going with PH's Warrior theme. Yesterday a poster on another thread suggested
Imagine Dragons: 'Warrior' chorus with tweak as a chant. An easy one, chorus starts 33 secs in.

Here we are. Don't turn away now
We are the Warriors of Ipswich Town!
Here we are. Best run away now
We are the Warriors of Ipswich Town!

The Warrior banner idea rocks; do we want PR to be a Fortress or not?

Steve McClarens QPR
at 21:40 18 Aug 2018

Just seen the WBA QPR highlights on Quest and watching it I am just so so relieved and thankful we didn't end up with Schteve when ME was searching for our new manager.

Fortunately for us, he made the right choice and we now have the makings of a great Ipswich manager in Paul Hurst.

I was at PR this afternoon and our new gutsy attitude and pacy attacking football style is absolutely down to the ethos PH is instilling in our team. It's proof enough for me that he's the right guy for us.

Also the fans today were awesome, definitely the missing man 10th man. All very exciting. Can't wait for the Norwich game.

Reality check needed
at 20:21 13 Aug 2018

Oooops! fumble fingers! I have just accidently downvoted WarkTheWarkITFC 'Reality check needed' in my haste to vote in absolute agreement with everything he's written. Apologies WTheWITFC and everyone.

To be clear, I think that WarkTheWarkITFC has posted one of the best summaries of our current situation that I have read recently.

I too, was really shocked and horrified at some on the stuff being posted here and elsewhere on Saturday and Sunday after the game. So horrified that I decided on Sunday evening to stop reading or posting on here at all.
(though I only joined in April, don't post often but do read loads of other posts with great interest.)

However, I changed my mind this morning because I want to add my voice to all those on here calling for calm and patience. Paul Hurst really does need that from us and so do the players.

I really enjoyed watching the West Ham Game at Portman Rd, it wasn't perfect but it was exciting after years of very dreary football and I want more of that. We must understand though that this is not going to happen overnight, will take time and we may need nerves of steel at times. But I am up for that if it means we get our beloved Club going again. So well done to WarkTheWarkITFC and others, keep the faith.

Hats off to Paul Hurst
at 09:54 8 Aug 2018

I agree, PH hasn't stopped grafting since he's been here after coming to us on the back of a really long tough last season with Shrewsbury.

His holiday can't have been up to much even tho' he must have been really chuffed at getting appointed as our Manager. Probably spent most of his time reviewing our games, and getting to grips with the job ahead, on the phone, hardly a rest I should think.

I guess this also applies to Deputy Doig too!

So, have we got a great song for Paul Hurst yet? If so what is it? I reckon he really deserves something a bit special by way of a thank you from us fans regardless of what our future holds.

should be a ban on people sitting in the north stand
at 16:56 5 Aug 2018

We watched yesterday's match from our new season tickets seats in SBR Upper, had a smashing view. Previously we'd had season tickets in E of E for years when we went with our son. We moved to SBR because although we always joined in with the singing we thought it would be great to move to a stand that joins in more.

We knew that SBR lower is the main vocal area but we were completely taken aback and amazed that all the very nice people sitting around us were completely silent during the singing and chanting coming from other areas of our upper tier and the lower SBR.

So there we two were, singing out hearts out while our immediate neighbours looked like they expected tea and cakes to arrive any minute remaining resolutely silent while watching the game. Absolutely zero involvement until we scored, when to be fair they stood for a short time, joined in the cheering for a few seconds when most promptly sat down and returned to playing statues again. It was obvious they were not newcomers to Portman Rd and were all pretty long time season ticket holders in the area, as they greeted each other in the rows above and below and chatted to each other before the game.

How can any ITFC fan sit through an exciting 1st game of the season with a new manager (or any of our games tbh) listening to our fans singing fairly close to them and just ignore it and not join in? What's this about?? Too polite or 'posh' to sing? Why buy a season ticket then just not support the team properly, especially now when we really do need to show our support for PH and all the boys.

Guys, it's football not tennis! Get on board and join in. Apart from that I really enjoyed the game. Yes, a work in progress and may take longer than we think or hope for and we may need to fasten our seat belts. However, I trust our new Leader to know what he wants for his team and the Club and am pretty sure he knows how to get it. He strikes me as a very shrewd, very tough and likeable guy. He's obviously working his socks off, so all of us need to do our bit too by joining in the singing wherever you sit. We can shake the Portman rafters and the opposition too. And in case you're wondering, unlike Delia, sadly I haven't had a glass all afternoon. Of course there's always the thought that a lot of people don't really know or understand what is being sung so don't like to join in. What's the answer to that?

It's Jungle, not keen on the other one, we need something to hit the team, us and opposition right between the eyes, so to speak.

Shrews think Hurst if leaving will take...
at 09:11 28 May 2018

If we were to lose Bart, and I really hope we don't, and if PH does arrive I'd
love him to bring that that goalie Henderson to PR. He was impressive.

Don't think that's going to happen though as I heard he's on loan to Shrews from Man U.
