Bench Cam is a classic
at 17:15 25 Feb 2024

The reaction between Al-Hamadi and McKenna when the 2nd goes in is a thing of beauty.

Bench Cam is running TownIn5 a close thing for my favourite Sunday viewing these days.
Rail travel for football fans - survey
at 15:21 21 Feb 2024

The Football Supporters Association and some rail industry stakeholders are trying to gauge fans views about rail travel to matches. If you do travel by train to away games you might want to complete this survey:
Moore winning fouls that Hirst wouldn't get given
at 21:12 11 Feb 2024

Interesting to watch the player cam back and see how Moore won a couple of fouls. I think in similar situations Hirst either wouldn't have won the foul or it would have been given against him.

Not entirely sure what Moore does differently (less 'armsy' maybe?) but hopefully Hirst can learn from him when he's back. Always feel he gets hard done by but maybe if he makes some minor tweaks he won't be.

Excellent interview with Ali Al-Hamadi on TownTV
at 19:35 8 Feb 2024

Particularly liked the bit where he got pulled up for calling McKenna gaffer and then referred to him as boss for the rest of the interview!

Really intelligent and grounded bloke.
Black Cat Roundabout/A421 Closure this weekend
at 17:14 12 Jan 2024

For anyone who travels over to Portman Road via the A421 and the BlackCat roundabout. It's shut all weekend. Don't think it's been particularly well publicised and I know there's quite a few Town fans from the Beds/Bucks area who go that way.

Referees and the Key Match Incident Panel
at 13:06 20 Dec 2023

Interesting insight here into how big decisions are assessed in the EFL. This is outside of the routine refereeing assessment.

85% percent accuracy/success in most jobs would be viewed as pretty good but I think many of us expect refs to be up in the 95%+ zone.
Nick Hayes - short term loan

Another short term loan for Nick Hayes subject to FA/league approval:

Two Birmingham Fans Arrested For Misogynistic Chants
at 10:03 26 Nov 2023

Article here from The Athletic. Worth bearing in mind with the derby coming up. Whether you think the law is right or not, the "she's a wh0re" chant would almost certainly hit the same bar as this, particularly if Delia is present at the fixture. There's a good chance the two individuals end up with Football Banning Orders as the threshold is fairly low to get one these days.

Tuanzebe to start at Rotherham?
at 08:05 15 Oct 2023

This Friday Tuanzebe will have been at the club for 6 weeks. Lots dependent on him getting up to match sharpness but with Burgess likely to play again for Australia on Tuesday I think there's a good chance that someone else will line up alongside Woolfenden.

While there are no 'easy' games in the Championship Rotherham might be a good opportunity to integrate him into the matchday lineup.

Could well be a start for Taylor as well if Luongo plays for the Aussies on Tuesday.
Conor Chaplin's Baby.......

Big congratulations to Conor and his partner.

(Not to mention the fantastic timing during the international break).
Inside The Coaches Office - Official Town TV Podcast episode
at 20:46 10 Oct 2023

Think this is my favourite episode since they started putting this out.

Great to hear from Charlie Turnbull and Lee Grant in such detail. Further proof, if it was needed, that we have a great bunch of people working at the club.

Both very articulate and clear about what they are doing, why and why it's a good place to work at the minute.
Goals and Shots Per 90
at 08:53 8 Oct 2023

Goals per 90 and Shots per 90 for all our scorers in the League. Jackson and Ladapo making the most of their minutes from the bench.

Size of circle shows the Expected Goals for each individual. Hirst's overall contribution has been really important to how we play but would imagine he'd be happier if he'd taken a couple more of his chances.

Academy Update from Gary Probert
at 13:43 20 Sep 2023

For those with a TownTV subscription there was a good interview with Gary Probert uploaded yesterday that talks about recruitment, playing players at a higher age group and a project looking at what they'd need to do to get to Cat 1 and the decision that would drive why they do or don't go for it.

On a side note - not sure why they upload that sort of stuff on a match day when it will get lost in all the other content. Put it out on a day when there's not much content around!
Cracking finish in the U21 fixture today

Morsy close to scoring on his return to the Egypt side
at 21:32 8 Sep 2023

Disallowed for a foul in the build up apparently.

Ndaba injured - out for a while
at 20:46 28 Aug 2023

Injuries and loans that haven't quite worked out. Got to feel for the guy as it looked like this was a good fit for him.
