Holding Out For A Hero
at 14:21:34

Wonderful word play. I nearly fell off my chair "and a Finidi I didn’t needy".
I await your views as we enter an era of McCarthyism (the practice of making accusations of disloyalty, subversion, or treason without proper regard for evidence - plenty of that at ITFC).

Hutchings Leaves Town
at 13:03:13

I always feel a bit sorry for the Assistant Managers (and other back room staff) when the boss gets sacked. Good luck to Hutchings where ever he goes next.

Club Looking Into Players' Night Out
at 13:46:47

I watched this story unfold on Twitter, directly from people at the bar.Yes, it appears that they arrived at around 1.30pm and drank solidly for the the rest of the day. If any were still sober by the end is highly unlikely. One tweeter described how they were 'ripping' Paul Jewell. One of the 'accused' ended up puking over the dance floor! - I do not recall any mention of Chops even being there. If Carson was rude about Jewell, then good for him, he was regularly overlooked by PJ. A point made often on this forum.

While I do not condone their behaviour, I have to say even I had a celebratory drink after we parted company with PJ. Yes, they went over the top and probably felt like s**t the next day, but they don't deserve punishment, undoubtedly, the players have similar views to the majority of this forum and were pleased see the back of PJ.

Who Should My Son Support?
at 18:11:47

I have tried to give my two an Ipswich upbringing. But my 9 year old daughter doesn't really like football and my 6 year old son has the attention span of a sparrow. I took them both to a match and by 20 minutes in they were both bored. Having two bored kids is not a good way to watch a match and I was relieved to hear the final whistle! (and we lost).

Two days later, they are both asking when can they go to watch football again. Kids!

And BillysDad - if adoption is too slow try EBay.

What Will You Say Next, Mr Jewell?
at 11:59:17

Excellent blog, which reflects my exact thoughts. I have never been in the Jewell Out camp but this team has taken on the attitude of the manager. Despite what others posters may think I believe that we have some good players and a team that should do well at this level.

Unless we can get maximum points out of the next two games (AND get something from Brighton and Cardiff) PJ should go.

Town Linked With Move for Leeds Keeper Lonergan

Another day, another rumour, another keeper. We must be up to PJ's 25th choice keeper by now. At least we can't be outbid by Leeds United on this one!

Town Linked With Move for Leeds Keeper Lonergan

Thanks to all those who have read my first blog, especially those who made the effort to comment. I would like to add that ME could find ways around the FFP rules, but I don't think he is prepared to do that until we have a competitive team and a decent sized fan base. Once we reach that point it would be worth the extra investment. I don't want to take issue with any of the comments made as the the blog was written to encourage fans to think about costs. The figures mentioned are all approximations!

However, Harry10, the gate receipts of £6.702m cannot possibly be the full amount. I read the article (Star or EADT - can't remember) and concluded that this must be an adjusted figure. If you take £6,702,000 and divide it by 18,266 (average attendance) and the divide it by the 23 home games, it would mean on average we all paid £15.95 per game - and that is before an extended cup run - which would bring the ticket price down to £13. - I suspect the figure excludes season tickets, but even that does not add up.
